Skillfully blending classy style with picture perfect hue, this New York native has been excelling in the hair care industry for over 28 years. Her talents are built on the solid foundation of continuing education, cutting edge training, and ongoing, state-of-the-art product knowledge. Over the past decades, Brenda has conducted numerous educational and motivational classes, and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, the Caribbean, and Canada as a Platform Artist for Dudley Products. Brenda began her professional education at Robert Fiancé Hair Design Institute in 1979. She went on to create trend-setting looks as an instructor for Monsieur John Ltd., Wilfred Academy, and has also styled hair for Styles Unisex Salon and Black Hair Is (Glemby International). After Moving to Miami, Brenda became the Premiere Hair Designer at Glemby International Salon in 1985, and at Tender Love in 1987. She has learned from successful industry greats such as Barry Fletcher, Floyd Kenyatta, and Thomas Hayden, and has completed advanced training at Dudley’s Cosmetology University and Pivot Point International. Brenda’s entrepreneurial spirit surfaced in 1989 when she opened Turning Heads, The Hair Masters in North Miami. Here, she offered advanced training classes in the areas of Hair Cutting, Elegant Up-Do’s, Roller Placement, and Creative Color. In 1998, Hollywood, Florida became home to Brenda Gee’ Salon, where she began working the celebrity circuit as a star stylist. Her credits and video work includes Mariah Carey’s Rainbow Tour, Donna Richardson, Joyner, Serena and Venus Williams, R. Kelly, Trick Daddy, Elise Neal, Jagged Edge, Nelly, Sammie, Brandi Williams(Blaque) and numerous other artists. Predictably, Brenda’s work as a Master Hair Designer soon caught the attention of the print publishing world. In 2004, her work appeared in People Magazine, an impressive achievement. Her print work also includes: Rolling Stone Magazine, the Miami Herald, Mazza Hair Book, Sophisticates Black Hair Magazine, Black Hair Care Magazine, Moods Magazine, Real Styles Magazine and Black Tress Magazine. A child prodigy at age 4, Juan Jefferson has created works of art for as long as he can remember. His lifelong passion for artistic creativity has always been something that he has enjoyed. Today, the married father of six children (with wife Kerrie) now uses the “hair as his canvas,” creating unique works of art which incorporate abstracts, lines, angles, and various other geometric designs. (Sons Juan Jr. and Kanaan are sporting two unique looks this veteran hair artist created: a basic abstract design and Eagle’s Wings.) “For the most part whatever you desire, I can create,” Juan says, emphasizing the importance of clearly communicating upfront the style or look that’s desired. “Fades, temp fades, military high fades, low fades, Mohawks, and “special requests” --- walk me through (describe) the look or design you want. Or, bring in a picture...and we can go from there.” Equally adept at traditional barbering, Juan’s in-demand hair artistry is frequently requested by many of his customers. He is able to create butterfly, eagle and other nature art, the mythological, winged Pegasus horse, and other innovative designs. His artistic creations can even visually express a motto or make a fashion statement. Recently, he designed a hair art version of the popular “I Love (Heart sign) NY” slogan for a customer. This special creation was designed as part of an “overall look” his client was desiring to achieve, which perfectly complemented the client’s matching “I Love New York” T-Shirt. But Juan’s extraordinary services don’t stop there. Custom Colors, Rinses, Texturizers, Razoring and Multi-color Signature Looks add even more “flava” to this artist’s cutting edge designs. Over the years, Juan’s work has been published in Real Styles Magazine (a Malcom X silhouette design) and other publications. Previous owner of Juan’s Salon Creations, he has worked alongside many leading hair stylists including Trenace, Kim Aberdeen, Natalie Spencer, Mi Mi Robbins and others. Hair Designer Jackie Musgrove enjoys creating fabulous new looks for her clientele in the coastal region of South Florida. Her innovative styling techniques and professional consulting skills have positioned her as a revered hair pro in the south Florida area --- from Hollywood to Williams Island on Miami Beach. A consummate cosmetologist, Jackie’s clientele span social, economic and cultural boundaries, and include celebrities, entertainers, law enforcement personnel, teachers and other professionals. Specializing in the beautification, care and upkeep of all hair types and textures, Jackie is certified by the National of Board of Cosmetology and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cosmetology. She has been styling hair since the age of 12, when she first started beautifying the tresses of the women residents of her mother’s homeless shelter. Years later, she is still active in the organization, (Tender Love Life Saving Center /Miami), where she
currently serves on the Board of Directors. Jackie also serves as Treasurer and Pastor’s Aide President at her local church. Friendly and personable, with a strong business orientation, Jackie enjoys sharing her expertise with clients seeking hair care advice or with those who simply want a professional opinion regarding a particular style. “I’m here to assist my clients with their hair care needs and style decisions,” she says of her haircare partner approach. Jackie’s creations range from An Elaborate Basketweave Effect Updo, to a Chic Short & Tapered Look, to a Full Flip with Frosted Tips. Jackie’s Style Tips Below are a few style tips from Jackie for various face types:
Round face - “An example of a style that’s popular for this face type would be an elegant Updo, with some of the hair coming to the side,” Jackie says. “This will help to add height and the hair coming to the side will help create the illusion of an elongated face.” Style Choices abound from a “conservative updo” look for everyday wear to a more “elaborate look” for going out. Square face - Always high on the style list, “A Wrap Style works very well on this face type, with some of the hair swept behind the ear,” Jackie explains. This helps to add “additional softness” to this immensely popular, for all-seasons look. Oval face - “This face shape works well with practically any style, “ says Jackie.
