Making God Happy We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. —Romans 5:1
I
’m guessing you don’t like it when you make someone unhappy because of what you did or said. I don’t either. When we do wrong things—when we disobey or are unkind—we make God unhappy. He never does wrong things, and we do wrong things all the time! That’s why God let Jesus come to earth and die on the cross. Jesus was punished for the wrong things you and I do so that God will not be unhappy with us. Jesus, thank You for helping me to understand when I do things wrong so I can correct my behavior and make God happy with me.
I want to make God happy!

You Are God’s Child If we are God’s children, then we will receive the blessings God has for us. —Romans 8:17

hink about all the good things your mommy and daddy give you! They make sure you have food and clothes and lots of hugs. They read books and play with you. They might even take you to church and pray with you. Those good things are called blessings! God is your Daddy in heaven, and He gives you good things too. He loves to share His love and His joy and His beautiful world. It is good to have God as your Daddy in heaven! Thank You for being my Daddy in heaven and giving me so many good things.

God Does W hat He Says He’ll Do You get all of God’s blessings because of the promise that God made to Abraham. —Galatians 3:29
D
o you know what a promise is? It’s when you say you will do something. God is really good at keeping His promises. That means He always does what He says He will do. He always, always, always keeps His promises—and His promises are amazing! God promises to protect you, give you what you need, comfort you when you’re sad, and save a place in heaven for you. God also promises to always be with you, forgive you, and love you—and He will! Dear God, thank You that You always do what You say You will do!

Being God’s Friend Jesus died so that we could have the Spirit that God promised. —Galatians 3:14
W
e can’t have dessert if we don’t finish our dinner. We can’t stay up late when we have school tomorrow. And we can’t know the Holy Spirit until we know Jesus. If you know that Jesus loves you—and He loves you a lot!—you can know the Holy Spirit. And it is good to know the Holy Spirit because He helps us understand the Bible, He prays for us, He helps us know what God wants us to do, and He helps us do what God wants us to do! Thank You, Holy Spirit, for praying for me and helping me in so many ways!
I am glad I know the Holy Spirit!

The Best Gift Ever! The non-Jews will receive what God has for his people. —Ephesians 3:6
W
hen it’s your birthday, maybe you take cupcakes to Sunday school for your class. Those cupcakes are for people in your class and no one else. But if the kids in your class don’t like cupcakes, you can give them to other people at Sunday school. It’s sad, but when God gave the gift of Jesus to His people (called the Jews), not all of them liked Him. So God shared Jesus with other people (the nonJews). They liked Jesus a lot, so now they are part of God’s family. When you love Jesus, you are part of God’s family too! Dear Lord, thank You for the wonderful gift of Jesus!
Jesus is God’s gift to me.

Showing God You Love Him [God] will not forget the work you did and the love you showed for him by helping his people. —Hebrews 6:10
O
ne of the best ways to show God that you love Him is by showing and sharing His love with others. He loves it when you help other people who love Him too. Did you know that you can show God that you love Him by helping people? There are lots of ways to help people. At home you can help set the table. At school you can help the teacher clean up. When you’re at the store with your mom, you can smile at the cashier. God always remembers when you help people, and it makes Him smile. Dear Jesus, I want to show You how much I love You by helping people.
