Saturday, May 31 Hoosier River Watch Training When: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Where: Wesselman Woods Nature Center & Pigeon Creek Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring “Basic” Training introduces citizens and educators to water quality monitoring utilizing hands-on habitat, chemical, and biological assessment methods. The sessions are held both inside and outdoors. Any interested adult is welcome to attend, and once certified, may teach students how to monitor. The tour travels through different habitats, including wetlands, prairie, and woodlands to showcase various habitats, life cycle stages, and identification tricks for these winged beauties. This unique hands-on birding experience offers close up encounters with wild birds and demonstrations on banding techniques and bird identification. Participants can also help release them back to the wild! Bring your camera! Cost: Free and open to the public. No pre-registration required.
