Planning a move can become very stressful, so here are a few tips to help your move go easier. Be realistic about what you can accomplish when preparing for a move based on the amount of time available before the move. Overloading yourself and other family members with things to do will only heighten stress and reduce preparedness. Try and go through items you have as you pack and rid the stuff that is hardly or never used. Doing so will not only reduce clutter, but it will also save you money from fewer items to be moved. If you don't have the original box for an item, find another sturdy carton, line it with plenty of newsprint, seal it securely and mark it as "Extremely Fragile". Label all cables and wires for easier reassembly, and remove all ink and toner cartridges from printers. When setting electronics back up, let items reach room temperature before plugging them in. If you are planning on hiring a moving company, make sure to do your research and hire a professional and reputable moving company.
