C OMPETITION E NTRY “Chioggia Renovatio” Chioggia (VE), Italy The object of the competition was to design a new block of buildings and their surroundings on a long and narrow site in the town of Chioggia. From one side the area is defined by the “Lungomare” which is a very important public space in the case of Chioggia - the project therefore has a corridor-function, it provides many connections between the city and the beach. It involves tourist information, spa, acquaacqua park, residential area, offices, commercial spaces and sport facilities which are connected with all year round enjoyable green areas, parks and public spaces.

C OMPETITION E NTRY “Chioggia Renovatio” Chioggia (VE), Italy The most important part of the composicomposi tion is the long and narrow pool which goes along the whole site and communicates with all the buildings - sometimes this dialogue is direct and the pool itself serves the main function of the edifice above it (as in the case of the spa). It’s also an aesthetic element, starting as a waterfall which creates a unique and interesting facade for the info-point.

C OMPETITION E NTRY “Habitat Sostenible” Forum Contest Vallecas, Madrid The contest’s goal was to create a sample-piece of a new-built sustainable district in the spanish capital. The volume of the block “Acordeón” was “ inspired by the surrounding houses - we developed a form that can make a dialogue with the 3-5 floor high residential buildings but fulfills the competition requirements (ground floor+8 floors+attic).

C OMPETITION E NTRY “Habitat Sostenible� Forum Contest Vallecas, Madrid We decided to use new materials such as wooden panels which can be combined with extended layer of heat insulation to support the natural ventilation and cooling in the summertime - provided by solar chimneys on the south facade. The chimneys work as a ventillation
system which does not require additional
energy to work - it uses the clean energy coming from sunshine and the cooling potential of the ground. Terrace windows facing to the south are
covered with nanotech layer that reduces dramatically their SHGC controlling this way the overheating in the summer.
Vertical gardens allow inhabitants to
raise their own domestic plants on the balconies.

I DEA C OMPETITION Revitalisation of Piazza Bracci San Lazzaro di Savena, Italy The competition’s goal was to create a suitable urban space in the center of the city of San Lazzaro di Savena (Province of Bologna). The area of the “piazza” and the nearby park missed any connection - green areas were to be restructured, also taking in account the parking needs. A memorial had to be placed as a reminder of the tragic event happened in 1980 (a bomb exploded at the overcrowded railway station of Bologna), when many people became victims of the italian mafia.

T HESIS P ROJECT SustainAbility Center Turin, Italy The project is an interactive education center that promotes the environmentalfriendly living concept for urban citizens. The building site of the is located in Turin. Turin is the 4th of the biggest city of Italy, economic and industrial center, but also known as the greenest one in the country. The existing building was kept and restructured according to its plans from 1901. This part of the building provides space for commercial activities, while the newly built part consists of experimental apartments.
