2015 Koledar je posvečen 90-letnici prvega zavarovanja Doline Triglavskih jezer in geografu dr. Bojanu Erhartiču (1979– 2013), ki se je ponesrečil med fotografiranjem tega območja oktobra 2013. Bojan je avtor večine fotografij, na zadnjem fotografiranju je posnel tudi naslovno sliko koledarja.

The calendar is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the first protected area formed in the Triglav Lakes Valley, and to geographer Dr. Bojan Erhartič (1979–2013), who died in a plane crash after shooting areal views of the Triglav Lakes Valley in October 2013. Bojan is the author of most of the calendar photos, and took the front page photo during his last shoot.

Dolina Triglavskih jezer – Zlatorogove sledi Romantično zgodbo o Zlatorogu, objavljeno leta 1868 v časniku Laibacher Zeitung, je Karl Deschmann zelo verjetno sestavil iz delno ohranjenih koščkov ljudskih pripovedk v eno zgodbo, ki je ponovno zaživela med ljudmi. Tako se je ohranil bistveni pomen pripovedke – prenašati iz roda v rod življenjske modrosti. Zlatorogova zgodba opozarja na temeljni vzrok vseh človekovih padcev, danes bi temu rekli vzrokov krize: v naravi je dovolj vsega za spodobno preživetje človeka, pohlep po imeti več pa povzroča rane. Vendar jih narava zmore obnoviti in odstraniti moteči element – človeka. To suho sporočilo se veliko bolj privlačno prebira v zgodbi, v kateri je Zlatorogov vrt postavljen med Trento in Bogatinom nad Bohinjskim jezerom, v Dolino Triglavskih jezer. V zaključku je Deschmann zapisal: »Ko so pastirji v visokem poletju prišli v bližino Jezerske doline, so našli pusto skalnato pokrajino. Bele žene in z njimi snežno beli gamsi so za vedno zapustili te kraje. Od edinstvenega alpskega paradiža naj ne bi ostala nikakršna sled, Zlatorog je v svojem besu razril lepe trate, v skalnih tleh pa so še dandanes vidni odtisi njegovih zlatih rogov.« Morda Zlatorogov zaklad ni povsem izginil, morda je le prikrit pohlepnim očem, kot je bil nekdaj pod Bogatinom? Morda so le naša iskanja ključa – koščka Zlatorogovega roga, ki odstre pogled na njegove zaklade - napačno usmerjena? Ali niso stasita rapontika, cvetno razkošje melišč in alpskih trat, omamni vonj klinčka, žvižg svizca, sik gada, vrtoglave stene, pogled na jezerska očesca, v skalo ujeto ohišje amonita z dna davnega morja, globoke škraplje in samotarski macesni vendarle neponovljivi zakladi? Seveda so, a se nam v pravi podobi pokažejo šele takrat, ko vstopamo v te kraje kot obzirni gostje, ponižni obiskovalci. Potem bomo tudi začutili duh raziskovalcev, ki so razlagali naravne pojave vse od 17. stoletja pa do danes, laže bomo razumeli domačine, za katere so bile tudi manj gostoljubne višine vir preživetja, prizadevanja planincev, da približajo te lepote gornikom. Že vse od konca 19. stoletja velja Dolina Triglavskih jezer za nekaj posebnega, od tod tudi čut za odgovornost, da ohranjeni dar naših prednikov predamo potomcem. Tako je bila že pred 90 leti (1924) z zakupno pogodbo zavarovana jezerska dolina, ki ostaja osrednji del zdaj bistveno večjega Triglavskega narodnega parka. S koledarjem vas vabimo, da obiščete Triglavski narodni park, saj Zlatorogovega zaklada ne varujemo ljubosumno, ampak je namenjen vsem obzirnim obiskovalcem. Pravila obnašanja: • Spoštujmo navade in način življenja domačinov. • Bodimo tihi, da ne bomo vznemirjali živali. • Ne puščajmo ničesar, odpadke vzemimo s seboj. • Ničesar ne odnašajmo, razen fotografij in doživetij. • Cvetje je najlepše, kjer raste, zato naj tam tudi ostane. • Kurimo samo na za to določenih mestih. • Pse vodimo na vrvici. • Steze so namenjene pohodnikom, vožnja s kolesi po njih ni dovoljena. • Pri hoji po poteh sledimo oznakam na stebričkih in markacijam. • Vozila puščajmo na za to označenih mestih. • Noč preživimo v organiziranih nastanitvah (kampih, sobah, kočah ...), taborjenje zunaj temu namenjenih območij ni dovoljeno.
The Triglav Lakes Valley – The Traces of Zlatorog The romantic tale of Zlatorog, the mysterious white chamois with golden horns, which was first published in Laibacher Zeitung in 1868, was probably cobbled together by its author Karl Deschmann from pieces of folk tales, and created into a single story that would again captivate people, thus preserving the most important identifying feature of a folk tale – that it is an account of life’s wisdom passed down and retold from generation to generation. Zlatorog is a reminder of the ultimate cause of the human fall, or the fundamental cause of the crisis as such falls are now called. Nature provides man with sufficient means for his survival, but is wounded in return, because of the unending human greed. Nature, however, is able to heal its wounds, and remove the disturbing element – the man. This dry message sounds much more appealing when it is presented in a story that places Zlatorog’s magical garden in the area between the Trenta valley and Mount Bogatin above Lake Bohinj, into the valley of the Triglav Lakes. At the end of his tale, Deschmann writes: “When shepherds came to the Lakes Valley in high summer, all they found was a desolate rocky landscape. The White Ladies and the snow-white chamois had left, never to return. Not a trace of the unique alpine paradise remained. In his fury Zlatorog had gored the beautiful mountain meadows leaving behind nothing but the traces of his golden horns forever imprinted in the rocks.« But, is it possible that Zlatorog’s treasure did not disappear forever? Perhaps it lies hidden from greedy eyes, buried as it once was in the heart of Mount Bogatin? Could it be that we are misguided in our search for the key to Zlatorog’s kingdom, a piece of the chamois’ horn that would open the hidden treasures? Don’t the sturdy Giant Scabiosa, the blossoming abundance of scree slopes and alpine turfs, the intoxicating scent of dianthus blossoms, the whistle of a marmot or the hiss of an adder, dizzying depths, a view of the lake eyelets, the petrified ammonite remains from the bottom of the ancient sea, deep grooves and lone larches, don’t they make up this treasure hoard? Oh they do, but they only show themselves in their true nature when we visit nature as respectful guests and humble visitors. Only then we will feel the spirit of the explorers who have been describing natural phenomena from the 17th century to the present day, and better understand the local people who have always believed it was possible to survive in the harshest mountain environments, and the effort of the mountaineers to bring these beauties closer to the tourists. Since the end of the 19th century, the Triglav Lakes Valley has been treated as a special area of nature, and has stirred our sense of responsibility to pass this gem, unspoilt, to our ancestors. Ninety years have passed (1924) since the signing of a leasehold contract protecting the valley which has remained up to the present day the core of a considerably larger Triglav National Park. The 2015 calendar is our way to invite you to visit the Triglav National Park. We are not jealously guarding Zlatorog’s treasure, trying to keep it for ourselves; on the contrary, we wish to share it with all respectful visitors. Code of Conduct • Respect the customs and traditions of the people who live in the park. • Do not make any noise so as not to disturb the wildlife. • Leave nothing but footprints. • Take nothing but photographs and memories. • Dogs should be kept on a lead. • Trails are intended for hikers, and cycling along the trails is not permitted. • Follow the signs on information posts along the trails. • Leave vehicles in designated places. • Spend the night in accommodation facilities (campsites, rooms, huts) because camping is not allowed outside the designated areas.
