Eine Abschlussarbeit von
This boxset is a tribute to the british singer MORRISSEY. In 1982 he startet his career as hefounded the band The Smiths. The Smiths became one of the most influential rock / popbands of the 80ies. When they split in 1987, MORRISSEY continued as a soloartist. Now in 2012 we celebrate 30 years of MORRISSEY on stage.
This final exam work for university of the german based designer Tobias Tietchen is a homage to the musical output that MORRISSEY produced over the last three decades.
It's content are several products that show the developpement, influence and effect that MORRISSEY spread with his music, lyrics and look. There are 4 double lp’s that contain the 80 greatest hits of MORRISSEY from 1982 to 2012 a unique photobook and various postcards give you an overview about the last 30 years.
To make this handmade box even more special and unique, the Hamburg (Ger) based fashion label Ethel Vaughn offered me an official cooperation for this boxset. In the second part of this box you will find a MORRISSEY outfit. A handmade shirt by Ethel Vaughn, hair dressing pomade, glasses and gladiolus bulbs. All these are items and accessoirs that MORRISSEY used in the last 30 years and that confirm his special style and look.
Through this box, especially on the records you will find a young lovecouple. I invented this two characters and named them Hector & Jeane (from the songs “First of the gang” and “Jeane”). The idea is, that Hector and Jeane tell a lovestory, that is expressed through MORRISSEY’s lyrics and songs, that are often very emotional end malencholic. To give it all a reason I created this “MORRISSEY outfit” in case to combine MORRISSEY’s music with the male character Hector.

Imagefilm “Morrissey 1982 – 2012”
This is a short imagefilm, that should summerize the
atmosphere that Morrissey created over the last three
decades.
It starts off with a statement of a fan towards Morrissey
and his music and also contains a stunning live shot
of the song “There's a light that never goes out”.
