Tobyboo brings you quintessentially British home-ware. Central St Martin’s trained designer Tina Crawford brings you award-winning artful and nostalgic British cushions, blankets, tea sets and sticky tape. What makes this designer so different? Each illustration is free embroidered on the sewing machine – drawn with the needle. “I love drawing with the needle any mistakes become part of the work but that’s integral to the piece. I don’t draw or mark out before hand it’s literally needle to fabric” Tobyboo is inspired by Tina's loves and surroundings; London being one particularly close to her heart. Tobyboo designs involve a unique screenprinting process that gives the embroidered designs a whole new dimension and are soon to see themselves on chinaware and wallpaper alongside the current soft furnishing. Tina trained at London's Central St Martins College of Art and Design graduating in jewellery design and had a successful career in television production. After eleven years, Tina returned to design to study free machine embroidery and soon after Tobyboo was born.
