Thank you for being a friend

They say the best way to get to know someone is to travel with them. I don’t disagree.

This past February I was lucky enough to be invited to a destination wedding in Jamaica. As a newcomer to a pretty tight-knit group of friends, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was friends with some of the other guests, and with the bride and groom, of course, but knew some of the other attendees through brief encounters only. Cue the excitement of travelling, add a few beers (plus some shots for good measure), sunshine, ocean, pooltime and games, and there you have it: instant bonds and immediate friendships.

There is something about coming together in the spirit of love and adventure. When you’re planning your own destination wedding, you’ll get that vibe. Your family and friends will share in the excitement of your vows, but also in the anticipation and thrill of travelling to a foreign country, exploring a new place and experiencing new things as a group.

It’s an honour to be invited to a wedding, but a destination wedding is different. Your guests will be thanking you for the experience for years. FOR EXCLUSIVE CONTESTS, TRENDS, IDEAS, BEHIND-THE-SCENES PHOTOS AND MORE.
