REAL PROBLEM SOLVING — AN EXAMPLE A PPO plan started to reimburse providers via an electronic credit card that charged the dentist a service fee when it was redeemed online, thus, lowering the reimbursement amount. After contacting the FDA, the dentist was told he/ she did not have to be reimbursed via credit card (or even electronically) and could notify the plan, in writing, that he/he still wanted to be paid via check.
