Craft: Pasta Stamps

Every child likes to play with stamps and this is a great craft to make with everyday materials. Making pasta stamps is a creative way for children to experiment, develop their motor skills and learn and talk about printmaking. Two activities for the price of one! Materials: Method:

1. With your child choose the size of the stamps you want to make and take the appropriate glass size. 2. Draw around the glass onto the cardboard. 3. Carefully cut out the circle. This is the stamp baseplate. 4. With the cardboard offcuts cut two squares and glue them onto the cardboard circle to make a handle. 5. Choose some pasta pieces and glue them onto the baseplate. Make any shapes and designs you like. Your stamps are ready! • Glass or similar to make a circle • Pasta (any type) • Scissors • Liquid glue (strong) • Pen • Cardboard • Playdough

You can also use rice or beans to make patterns. And instead of playdough, try paints on paper to create colour prints!
