PARASOL SUN PROTECTION tm
Sunlight includes rays of invisible ultraviolet (UV) radiation. As most of us know, overexposure to UV rays can lead to sunburn, accelerated skin aging, and skin cancer. Sunscreen and clothing offer the main forms of UV protection. All fabrics disrupt varying amounts of UV radiation; Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) is a rating system used to indicate how effectively each fabric shields skin from UV rays. Superior UV clothing carries a UPF rating from 15 (good) to 50 (excellent). As with sunscreen lotions, the higher the number, the greater degree of protection a garment offers. Irideon’s Parasoltm products offer UPF protection between 30–50.
Many skincare experts believe clothing shields skin more effectively from UV light than sunscreen, mainly because most people don’t apply enough suncreen and often neglect to reapply it when necessary. Children especially benefit from UV-protective clothing, particularly those who are not fond of sunscreen lotions. Look for the Parasoltm symbol on Irideon’s tops to ensure the best possible sun protection while riding.

Devonshiretm Carriage Coat This completely waterproof, breathable coat can be worn two ways: an adjustable back belt allows the coat to be worn in a roomier a-line style, or a tailored fit with pleats – and the back vent unsnaps for riding! The removable hood is attached via a downward-facing zipper channel so water runs off – not into – the neck seam. The hood also has drawstrings at the face and nape of the neck for excellent peripheral vision.
