OUR PROJECT DAY BY DAY MAY 11 This day was dedicated to travelling – some of us spent even more than 12 hours in planes, buses and trains just to get to Sarata Monteoru, so when we finally arrived, everyone was really exhausted.

We were assigned to our rooms in Casa Cu Tei and then had a dinner. After that, there was time to get to know each other and wait for the last participants that arrived around 10 PM.

MAY 12 On the second day in Casa Cu Tei people were still trying to get to know each other. It was the first day where we were actually going to work together, so everyone was very excited. We started this first day of the activities a little bit later, at 10 o’clock, after a nice breakfast. We began with a little energizer provided by our coordinator, Tolea – it was called ‘Hey Joe’ – and then we went to the conference room.

8

As the most of us didn’t know each other, our first workshops were focused on some name games and activities that allowed us to get to know the other people, like ‘human bingo’. The games were fun and the group started to integrate. After a short coffee break, we discussed the house rules and Tolea introduced the secret friend game (now everyone has at least one friend here, yaay!). At 1:30 we had lunch and then went for a little walk to discover Sarata Monteoru The locals were very friendly and hospitable and we could also enjoy some wonderful views, as the village is surrounded by the hills. After we came back we were ready to have some project activities again. This time each team had to make a poncho advertising their sending organization. When we finished, the models had to present their ponchos on the catwalk. It was really funny - the models acted so professionally that it almost felt as if we were at the fashion show! After all the activities, we had a dinner and group leaders had their own meeting (but we don’t want to go into the details ☺). The evening was focused on socialising - we spent it in a really lovely way by playing games, chatting and laughing. Some of the guys started to play a poker and apparently everyone jumped in. That’s how our first day looked like and we ended it with many new energy for the next day!

9

MAY 13

The third day of the youth Exchange „Don’t Joke With Smoke“ in Casa Cu Tei started with the Estonian energizer to make sure everybody has enough energy for the day. The energizer was called ‘Penguin Olympics game’. After that, all the people were divided into international groups to do the city bound. Participants had an opportunity to explore the village and develop teamwork. Every group got a list of tasks and we had to go to the village to complete them. The groups had to make two short videos, inspired by a film and a song, and also to take pictures with the things they like and dislike. When we completed the tasks, we all gathered in a small restaurant for a drink and to relax a little bit after walking a few kilometers. Mostly we used this opportunity to share the experiences of what we did and what we saw.

After we came back to Casa Tu Tei, we had lunch and then some free time. Afterwards we went to conference room to find out more about Erasmus+ programme, the Youthpass process and eight key competences developed during the projects. Also, we watched some videos created during different Erasmus+ projects.

10

In the next session every nation presented some stereotypes about their countries and we came to the conclusion that most of them aren’t true - Latvians don’t have six toes and Estonians aren’t that slow ☺. Everyone enjoyed the workshop because we learned a lot about the cultures represented by our friends. After the dinner and some preparations, at 9:30 we started the first intercultural (or rather intergalactic) evening. The Polish participants introduced Estonia, Romanians introduced Poland, Lithuanians presented Romania and Croatians introduced Cyprus. Then countries had an opportunity to display their local food on the tables. Everyone had a really nice time. The drinks were great, the food was even better and the atmosphere was the best.

MAY 14 The fourth day in Casa Cu Tei started as usually - people woke up a little bit sleepy after the first intergalactic evening. For this reason, Lithuanian team introduced an energizer named "Big Fat Pony". Then we stayed outside and played some trust games to get fully comfortable with the people from different countries.

11

Our next task was to work in mixed groups to create a land art related to our project topic and explain the meaning of it. People were really creative and seeing the results of their work felt just like visiting a museum. After a small break, all the teams gathered in conference room to have another challenge – to create a construction which would allow the egg to land safely from the first floor. Once again, the teams showed their creativity and made some interesting devices. But sadly, only few of them seemed to be not only interesting, but also practical. After the lunch, Lithuanians showed us one more energizer called "Rock, Paper, Scissors". Everyone felt fully energized, so we gathered in the conference room where we had some more serious things to be introduced. At the beginning, we worked in groups and shared information and statistics about drugs usage in every country. Later on, the collected information were presented to other participants. Then Tolea introduced Mirina, who was working with drugs for long years. Mirina presented the most popular types of drugs (starting with marijuana and ending with heroine), the reasons people decide to use drugs and effects of the drug addiction. We also had a discussion during the presentation. Despite the fact that some facts were already known to us, it was great to discuss this serious and sensible topic. In the evening we had some time to edit the videos and photos from the city bound. At 9:30 we gathered in the conference room to watch a movie called "Gomora".

May 15 Another day, another challenge! After the breakfast, the Croatian team prepared an HAKA energizer, after which we were ready for the battle with our new activities. On the previous recommendation we decided to do the ‘fish market’ workshop in the first part of the day. Fish market is another Tolea’s great idea which requires specific creativity. Participants worked in the groups, with the task to create a “fish” – a future project idea that would involve activities addressing certain problems. The groups, as always, were very creative with both drawings and the programmes of their projects, so we had plenty of opportunities to experience some very motivational ideas. After the lunch break, Tolea offered us to go for a short trip to the cross. Some participants took this chance to take a walk, while the others went to pick some necessary ingredients for the intergalactic evening.

12

Then we followed the agenda with Tolea’s speech about the next activity, the rope debate. The room was divided into 3 parts. After each topic was presented, the participants were able to choose the side depending if they agree, disagree or sustain. In most cases people were in the agreement about the topic, but opposite opinions of minority allowed the debate to develop into positive, and in some moments heated, discussion. The end of active polemic marked the start of free time, or, in other words, some cooking ‘attempts’ of the countries that were to present themselves during the second intergalactic evening: Croatia, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania. After a long and exhausting cooking actions, everything was finally prepared to start tasting the food and drinks. In the friendly environment and great atmosphere, participants continued socialising till the early morning, with big emphasis on improvement in cleaning after the dinner ☺.

May 16 The sixth day of our project started as usually with an energizer, and this time it was prepared by the Italian team. As all of us know that all Italians love coffee, the energizer was a song about how to make a good Italian coffee.

13

After that we had a workshop named ‘Active life style vs drugs: socio-educative intervention’. We were divided into 8 groups of 5 people each and our task was to provide a solution for some stories about people dealing with drugs. All of us enjoyed a lot these role-plays, despite the fact that they were longer than expected. The actors took it really seriously and managed to work perfectly as a team. Some scenes were funny, other were really emotional and every story had a happy ending. In the afternoon we started to work for the visual campaign and all of us had to choose to be either in the print or in the video group, which had to contain equal number of participants per each country. So we started to work, but first of all we divided ourselves into smaller groups, since the print group has to do several print works, such as the leaflets, brochure and posters, and the video group should create at least two video records. After this long afternoon we had the Romanian culture evening and we assisted to the rolling lamb cooking, while drinking some traditional tuica. As today one of the Estonians, Egert, turned 24, we prepared a special surprise for him - a birthday cake. Each country wished him a happy birthday singing a song in their own languages. We really had a great time and we are looking forward to what is going to happen next!

14

MAY 17 Finally, the Cypriot team was responsible for energizers and organization on the 7 th day of our project! On that day, we had an amazing experience, having a trip in the area around Sarata Monteoru with a private bus. At first we visited an Orthodox monastery, which had beautiful frescos and lovely gardens. Then, we had an opportunity to go around and explore the hills with the sculpture park, which contained many modern works of art and many lively cows â˜ş.

Afterwards, we visited the Berca Mud Volcanoes, which are unique in Europe. There are located in the area where natural gas bubbles up through mud, creating impressive blobs. Fortunately, some of us had the unique opportunity to experience close up the mud, by slipping into the clay and feeling the raw nature on their skin! After scrubbing our boots clean, we had a quick lunch there and returned to the hotel, because again some hard work was waiting for us. After coming back to the hotel, we started working on our video and print projects, creating our leaflets, posters and brochure. All the groups were very efficient, motivated, passionate and we got a lot of work done! The video team split to two groups, each making one video, using shadows and time lapse techniques. The groups were so enthusiastic that they worked until 3 am, having fun producing their Oscar winning clips!

Remember that there are shortcuts to everything in life but life is a journey, not a destination! I love you and hello from the other side <3 – Karolina

32

Zdrastwuite :D ( Hello :DD). While travelling 3 days home I was thinking what to write here. And still don't know how to say everything what I mean. So it was my first project and I didn't knowwhat to expect. From the first day when we all were sitting around 3 tabbles and saying "cheers to that" for everything it felt like I would know you more than few hours. And after few days I understand that I am more freely with you than some of my "friends". And at the last days I didn't want to leave all you and go home. It was only third time when I had that feeling in my life. So I hope that with some of you I will meet somethere in this life atleast once. Special thanks to all Braliukas from Latvia for all lithuanian - latvian language lessions and free time we spend :DD My roommate Andreas for being my roommate :DD Tolea for the gifts from mystery friend and all project. Karolina for making think again about word kurwa different :DDD And of course my amazing Lithuania team for all help from the beggining to the end. Oh and the last thing I wanted to say is to small Karolina ( I don't know how to separate two Karolinas :DD ) you look like one of happiest creature in the world and kinda of that I also felt more happy ( I don't know why) :DDD People, thank you for amazing 10 days together, I will write for you( as much as possible) time to time!! –Lukas

Heyy guys, i'm not so good with words but i think that there are no words in the world to explain what we have been trough in 10 days of being together. Since i have returned to Croatia, i feel like there is an emptyness inside me that i can fill in only with travelling and going on projects like this one and meeting people like you, even tough i don't know if people like you exist anywhere in the world. If i could do this again, i wouldn't change a thing, i would just make it last forever. But this love lasts forever inside all of us and that's the most beautifull thing ever. I would love to see you all again so if there is going to be a reunion project, please come. So we never got the chance to present these videos, i just wanted to say hello from the other side of Europe. Thank you so much for making me happy, i love you!

–Nena

Till universe fuse our experiences/lifes in one point! Much love <3 But don't forget to write messages when visiting country even for few hours!

Hei, you little sabotagers. It's been a few days since we're home and living our lives further.. I'm still trying to find my shortcut to my real life but we have beerfest here in Riga so I'm drinking dvuļa again! If someone happens to be here you should totally join and we could sabotage this dvuļafest together!! Apparently it's not for Estonians cuz you would only join to rumfest. But we should totally sabotage everything together. I've been reading all your posts and they all are so nice that I wanted to make my own as well. I really wanted to write something earlier but I guess I just needed some few extra days to collect all my thoughts and words together. First of all, it is not a big, not huge but it's a GIANT thanks to Tolea for such an amazing project.. I really loved every potato thing about it. But it's probably because I was your secret friend, so never mind :) I really appreciated every one of you from the day one. That moment when you were singing happy birthday in every language to a complete potato stranger. It was my first birthday without my friends and family but instead I got new one. Cheers to that! ;) We all were so different, with our own ideas and beliefs.. I am so proud that I was able to share my ideas and thoughts with you during these days and all together we all gain so much. Till this moment I didn't know that my mind is possible on something like that. such an amazing ideas and it's only because you guys inspired me so much. I am so lucky that I found my kurwa inside of me and I'll try not to loose it ever again. I've been focused to particular things for all my life but then apparently I'm also good at sabotaging things and finding shortcuts! It's a HUGE thanks to all of you. And also I wanted to apologise my roomie Emma for sabotaging her beauty sleep every night since I was kurwing around until 3-4am but don't worry you look gorgeous anyway! :* and also for hundred alarms in the mornings that I didn't even hear. :* I apologise also to others whose sleep I sabotaged.. but I just wanted to catch every possible moment with you guys. And since rainbow Jesus loves all the unicorns, I think I might be forgiven :) Aand if we talk about the shortcut. As I said.. I think this was the best shortcut to new experience, new friends and NEW ME. Thank you for that. And I know, as long as we stick together the roof will always be on fire, tuc tuc tuc. *SEE YOU SOON* P.S. now I'm really working on my shortcut back to triathlon, but here I might take the longcut. But since we don't talk about the longcuts.. ohh well. Going the the gym (sorry Allan, alone again) XoXo Kate - the potato spicy kurwa –Katrina

Hi guys, I'm here laying on my bed and thinking about these two last weeks and about everything we had. Yesterday evening I was waiting for the metro with Francisco and he suddenly told me: "look at all this ordinary people, going back home and worrying about their jobs, about their families AND then look at us, we have a special light." We have experienced so much together, at the beginning completely strangers and then sharing food and drinks and chapters of life, love and pain. We have experienced in 10 days what ordinary people experience in a year. That's why we should never stop traveling, sharing emotions and feelings! And that's why next week I'm going for another youth exchange in Estonia. Because I think that to travel, to experience, to share is to live! –Larisa

...okk...So...I don 't like to write my emotions on facebook .. you know .... but I think we all got changed ... It means that we are alive, we aren't stuck to beliefs, states of mind...we are all stars that shine and together we formed a beautiful sky... the sky you can watch or ignore but it is always there... P.s. you are my espresso! –Ilaria

Guys, I finally arrived home as well and as I could see in some post here I'm so happy that this project charged our travelling batteries to 1000% and that we're all starving already for new adventures. I'm not gonna write Paulo Coelho-style emotional stuff because I'm sure we all feel the same, just one thing - don't be sad that it's over - instead be happy that it happened and that your family is bigger now! So now as we are officialy a family expect me soon in your cities as I still have few days off to take:) and millions of positive tuc tuc from Cracow, you're welcome here anytime you want. Take care and hope this group will not die after few days as other regular project groups. Cause we're not regular! –Karolina

Greetings from Croatia- :) :) I found this crazy Croatian song from the period of these crazy 90s- for all you guys - the best memories :D:D :D :D(this should not be goodbye, just new begining ) Yours Teica :* :*

Sitting on the airport, alone with toughts, and my mind is speaking by itself.... On the day of the begining I didnt feel like going, upon the arrival I didnt feel I will fit in, while reading the agenda I wasnt too interested or enthusiastic... I wanted adventure, instead I got life experience, I wanted conversations instead we developed comunication,I wanted nice people for the time of the project, instead I got friends, I didnt want to express emotions instead I let them guide me, I had my visiom of project instead my mind was blown away how special it was, I lost my self somewhere before, but here I found balance again, I didnt do anything I wanted to, but I got more then I needed and everything thanks to every single one of you, even to the ones I didnt spend time to much, I remember all of you,and each individual is very special and will be placed in a specail place in my mind...... I am not gonna point out names, except Tolea's thank you , you were the best facilitator and mentor that anyone could ask for, and to everybody else, lets make sure this is not the end of the journey, just the end of one chapter in "endless book "..... always finish with smile :)

–Alan

I hope everyone got home safe and sound  I can't find the words to describe what an amazing experience this was, all i can say is that i'm infinitely grateful that all the bits and pieces in the universe aligned to make this gathering of truly extraordinary people possible. i feel so lucky i was at the right place at the right time and i was granted the opportunity to share this experience with you. thank you for all your efforts and contributions, you have made this project what it was. till we meet again. –Emma

Guys this is for every single of you, thank you for be part of my life and increasing my freedom. (Immaginary Prisoner) I am free, not because I have no chains, but because I know that these are invisible. I am free, not because I do not suffer, but because of a tear can bring a smile. I am free, because I come from a book captured dusty and forgotten, shy but ready to get my fingers to touch the turn of a page. I am free, not because I'm not afraid, but because what is life if not we risk? I am free, because I'm a stupid. I am free, because I understood to be free. I am free, because a melody born memories that break my breath away. I am free, because I want to cry. I aM free, because in the smile of a child understand what we did wrong to want to be adults. I am free, because you are reading these words. I am free, because I just lived ten incredible days with great people. I am free, because I'm always late for the important things, but never for basics. I am free, because I love my life. I am free, because the decision of it is ours. F.L. CACERES '' So many people live unhappy Within Circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change Their situation Because They are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of Which may Appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within at man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit-so is his passion for adventure. ''C. M. –Francisco
