A SUMMER TO REMEMBER AT REGENCY Over the summer, our Regency family and friends enjoyed day trips to Virginia City, Nevada City, Carson City, and Reno. We went paddleboarding and kayaking at Lake Tahoe, cheered for the Reno Aces baseball team, indulged during the Reno Wine Walk, unleashed our inner Picassos, and much more! We learned how to take good care of our pets during a seminar presented by Jennifer Mendonca, a local veterinarian, as well as how to maintain healthy skin by dermatologist Dr. Jason Michaels. The Regency Fourth of July celebration was a community favorite, and the fireworks were incredible. While we’ll never forget the summer, it’s now time to turn our thoughts to the upcoming fall and winter programs, which promise to be just as memorable. Mike Aguilar, Executive Director of Regency Amenity Centers

PRESIDIO CLUBHOUSE REVEAL We welcomed Regency and Presidio homeowners to celebrate the Presidio Clubhouse Reveal with us on Saturday, August 13. Guests enjoyed brunch, mimosas, live music, and libations as they toured the new 5,000 square foot Clubhouse. They raved about

the interior design elements and cannot wait to begin using the outdoor swimming pool, Game Room, and Fitness Center. This was certainly an exuberant event that was enjoyed by all!

RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT: KEVIN & KERRY ROSE Kevin and Kerry Rose moved to Reno four years ago from Alexandria, Virginia, with the hopes of finding a community that would allow them to live an active lifestyle during retirement. After learning about everything Regency had to offer, including the Regency Clubhouse, indoor swimming pool, and fitness classes, it was an easy decision for them to call Regency home. For the past ten months, the Roses have been enjoying their new Sundance home and the full calendar of active lifestyle programming. “We have met so many of our neighbors and other fellow homeowners at a variety of socials, trips, and activities,” said Kevin and Kerry. “There’s always something to do, and we just love the people living here.”

Kevin and Kerry are involved in several regularly occurring resident clubs including Pickleball, Walk and Talk, Poker, and Bunco. They are also excited about the creation of Cycling, Golf, Travel, and RV Clubs, all to be formed in the coming year. Over the summer, Kevin and Kerry enjoyed a Viking Ocean Cruise to Venice and Barcelona. They hope to enjoy more cruises in the future and look forward to taking the RV on the road with their new friends at Regency. As new homeowners continue to move to Regency, Kevin and Kerry are optimistic about the many lifelong friendships they have yet to discover here.

THE GREAT RENO BALLOON RACES September 9-11 The Great Reno Balloon Race is the largest free hot-air ballooning event in the world, attracting more than 120,000 attendees a year. Featured events include Glow Shows and Dawn Patrol, which light

the sky with twinkling balloons; Mass Ascension, in which up to 100 balloons are launched; tethered rides; and more. Enjoy warm drinks and breakfast from dozens of food vendors, craft and souvenir booths, and activities for kids and families.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AIR RACES September 14-18 The National Championship Air Races is the last event of its kind, bringing hundreds of aircraft, pilots, and spectators to Reno. Since 1964, the National Championship Air Races has carried on the Cleveland Air Races tradition of the 1920s, ’30s, and ’40s, and

has yet to disappoint aviation enthusiasts who travel to witness this spectacular event. Featuring six racing classes, military and civil flight demonstrations, and static aircraft for viewing, this is one you won’t want to miss!

REGENCY HIKING GROUP The Regency Hiking Group meets on the first and third Saturdays of the month at 10:00 am. Regency homeowner Gary Leffler leads the group and chooses hikes that are suitable for beginners as well as those who want a more rigorous adventure. Members enjoyed a variety of hikes over the summer and are looking forward to seeing the fall foliage on even more hiking

trips! Summer trips included the Virginia Range, where members were thrilled to observe some wild horses; trails at beautiful Lake Tahoe; and Thomas Creek Trail, one of their favorite hikes, offering gorgeous views. One thing is certain: all participants have a passion for fresh air and exercise!
