THE VETERAN’S PHOTO HISTORY PROJECT is dedicated to the Veterans living in The Pinehills. They have served honorably in times of war and peace, during The Cold War and in every conflict from World War II to Desert Storm. Sunday Morning Meditation, 9:30-10:30am. Inner reflection and spiritual growth includes instruction and practice. $30 or drop in $10/class. Acrylic Painting Lessons, Wednesdays, 9-11am. Meditation is proven to lower heart rate, blood pressure, inflammation, and improve disease-related pain. This group is self directed. American Red Cross Private Swim Lessons, through August, taught by a Certified Water Safety Instructor. Skills include: water entry, breath control, submerging, front and back buoyancy, changing direction, treading, swim on front, back and side. $25pp/30 minutes. Adult-Learn-To-Swim lessons, through Labor Day, with Bill Ryan, US Masters Certified Lear-to-Swim Instructor. 37% of Americans cannot swim the length of a 25 yard pool and many avoid water. Lessons will be in sets of 3 for a half-hour, and customized to the individual. The goal is to learn the 5 Swim Skills as outlined by the American Red Cross. New Resident One Hour Intro Session: July 6th, 9:30-10:30am. The Welcoming Committee provides a tour of the facilities, access card paperwork and general information about living in The Pinehills.

French Concert, Wednesday, July 13th, Babar and Friends celebrate Bastille Day -- Hear the music of Poulenc ("Babar), Faure and French cabaret music with Susan Hadfield/John Noble (piano, narration), Andy Oliveri (accordion/ voice), and Barbara Durham (voice). Last Hope K9 Rescue Adoption Event, Saturday, July 16th, 12pm-2pm. LHK9 Rescue is an all breed r e s c u e dedicated to abandoned, neglected and abused dogs from high-kill shelters throughout the United States. New Resident Orientation, Monday, July 18th, 6:30pm. Come get the history of The Pinehills along with an overview, including commercial business, policies, procedures, and an overview of commercial district, policies and procedures, programming and more. A great opportunity to learn about your community and meet neighbors. Outdoor Concert featuring the Riverboat Stompers, Friday, August 19th, 6pm on The Great Lawn. The summer music series continues with a New Orleans style jazz as well as swing-era band. Details to come.

Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) is a volunteer organization that helps residents of The Pinehills transition to and live well in the community. N2N provides informational resources, programs and activities related to Health & Wellness, Residence Maintenance & Technology, and Money Matters, three aspects of daily life that touch everyone within The Pinehills.

PROGRAMMING MOVING FORWARD AFTER LOSS A Social Support Program 1st & 3rd Tuesdays, 4-5:30pm Conference Room Take comfort in the camaraderie of laughter and listening with others who have experienced loss through death or divorce. Exercise While You Socialize...It's motivating...and fun! N2N to Repeat Its Popular Fitness Challenge in September Get up, get out, get moving. That’s the goal of Neighbor to Neighbor’s six-week Fitness Challenge program. Regular exercise with a group of like-minded people is not only a socially enjoyable way to keep fit, but also a rewarding experience when coupled with an easy to follow system for setting goals and recording progress. Registration for the fall program begins at The Stonebridge Club in August for the September – October program. View a photo album from our spring program on the new Pinehills website! Access Cards can be obtained MondaySaturday during office hours at The Stonebridge Club. Foreign Affairs Discussion Group will meet Thursday, July 21st, 4pm, in the Cabana to discuss issues regarding Brexit. Mike Ranieri, who spent 30 years in banking and finance, will speak about International Banking and how Brexit might effect banks both in the City of London and around the world. Diana McMeeking, a British ex-pat with a career in economic geography, will give her perspective on how the EU and the European Commission has imposed restrictions on Britain.
