A YEAR WORTH REMEMBERING This past fall, Regency homeowners enjoyed day trips to Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Genoa, and Reno. The M.S. Dixie dinner cruise on Lake Tahoe was certainly a crowd favorite! We took a spooky ghost tour of Virginia City, had a costume contest and danced the night away during our annual Halloween Bash, and met new neighbors during community socials such as Toasting Tuesday and football games. It wouldn’t be fall without enjoying some gorgeous colors during group hiking trips, or Book Club meetings to discuss our favorite fall reads! We learned about estate planning during a seminar presented by Edward Jones, and we attended the South Reno Library’s session on how to use cell phones and tablets. Regency events and celebrations brought the community together for great food, drinks, and camaraderie! We are beginning to plan for the grand opening of the 17,000 square foot Regency clubhouse in 2017. Once the clubhouse is open, Regency homeowners will enjoy access to the indoor swimming pool, spa, a variety of fitness classes including water aerobics, Pilates, yoga, Zumba, and tai chi, as well as numerous activities and social events. I’m positive 2017 will bring memorable events, trips, and excitement surrounding the opening of our 17,000-square-foot Regency clubhouse! Mike Aguilar, Executive Director of Regency Amenity Centers

RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT:

GORDON AND CHALLIS BRETT

Gordon and Challis Brett moved to Reno three years ago from Wenatchee, Washington to be closer to grandkids, enjoy a better climate, and make new friends now that they have fully retired. The 1,690 square foot Gilmore model at Regency quickly caught their attention because of the front yard courtyard and beautiful turret entry. Regency’s full calendar of socials, events, and trips also attracted Gordon and Challis and has allowed them to acquire many new friends. Both Gordon and Challis are very outgoing, and they have Regency homeowners over to their home often to enjoy their beautiful home and backyard. The Bretts consider their decision to purchase a home at Regency one of the best moves they have ever made! Gordon and Challis stay active by being involved in the large pickleball group that has formed at Regency this past year, and

they play every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for several hours. They enjoy the use of the Presidio clubhouse’s heated outdoor pool (saltwater) and will eventually take advantage of the indoor pool at the Regency clubhouse once completed. While pickleball and swimming are the Bretts’ favorite winter activities, another important priority is watching the Seattle Seahawks play throughout the NFL season. When not at Regency enjoying their new home, the Bretts are traveling. This past spring the Bretts visited Death Valley to enjoy the rare spring bloom, traveled back home to Washington to visit friends and family, and this winter plan on taking a variety of other exciting trips. Local events such as Artown, Reno Air Races, Nevada Day, and a variety of casino shows keep Gordon and Challis entertained and busy. There are so many socials and activities to do, not only within Regency but also in the surrounding areas—the Bretts could not be more thrilled with their move to Reno!

CONGRATULATIONS TO MIKE AND JENNIFER! v

Mike Aguilar asked Jennifer Bottini to marry him, and she said, “Yes!” Congratulations to the both of them on their recent engagement!
