Brihanmumbai Electricity and Transport Depart (BEST) conducted surprise raid at the actress’s residence in Sterling Sea Face Apartment near Nehru Planetarium in Worli area and found that they did not pay for 1,77,647 units of electricity by tampering the meter since 4th April, 2013. The FIR has been registered at Worli Police Station against Rati and Anil for the theft of Rs 48.96 Lakhs worth electricity under the section of 135 of Indian Electricity Act. According to Pravin Padwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, they have registered an offence against the accused persons on the complaint of electricity engineer and currently further investigation is going on. According to Rati’s husband, during the raid they were not in town and after coming back, will give clarification on this issue. Rati Agnihotri was last seen in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s starrer Dictator in 2016 under the direction of Sriwass.
