W e support green architecture with ASCON & EKENS system for green walls ASCON stays for aseismic construction and is a part of an earthquakeproof construction
system developed by company Humko Bled. We introduce unique panel which is made of durable plastic sheets or optionaly of Polyester with color coating in high gloss quality in desired RAL color ASCON panel is a multifunctional standardised panel easy to mount: - as a standard facade panel in desired color - as a vertical vegetable-herbs bed - as a vertical ornamental plant wall - as an anti-noise barrier on highways and other noise polluted areas. - as a green wall with double irrigation and with underwater heating/cooling system - as plant cleaning device in vertical wall - as a green wall in combination with fotovoltaic panels. - as an active insolation facade with circulation of underground water. Also works for heating/cooling the growing media to promote plants growth in hot summer and cold winter. - as an anti-noise wall/facade filled with Fonaterm flocks, rockwool or Lecca. Applying of the system is simple and versatile. ASCON & EKENS system can be used not only as an outdoor green wall but also as an indoor green wall, vertical vegetable garden and as a Plant cleaning device Use of mainly mineral substrate can provide good growth for many years. Irrigation system provides water and fertilizer to all parts of the system. Water is being recycled. Waste water or dreinage water can be used for irrigation. Reused water is cleaned of organic waste and nitrogen. Double pump station provide irrigation also in case of malfunction of one pump. System can be controlled by a single controller for up to 12 solenoid valves or Central Control System for more than 12 sections. On-line conection and remote control ia an option. Mineral substrate with additional zeolite with rooth system make good filtering system for waste water.

The idea Durability We manage to make durable panel for greening vertical walls like with standard facade elements. Durability can be compared with similar metal elements which is up to 40 years.
Simplicity Easy to mount and demount system can be done with an average skilled labour. The easy-to-assemble system is unique and available also in Do-it Yourself programs.
Multifunctionality Ornamental, aromatic-herbs plants or vegetable garden can be grown in the same system with adopted substrate-fertilizer aplication.
Inovation Our green walls have double layer system of substrate which allows to use standard substrates or compost mixture. Vegetable can be grown in traditional way with simple replacing the substrate when needed.

Technology Panels are made by High-tech machines equal to car industry. Development was done in modern 3D tooling technik in corelation to basic idea of Ascon & Ekens princip.
Material We use only the best ABS plastic and polyester fibres Fixing material is completely produced of stainless stell.
Surface protection Surface protection is done by high quality PU colors by Polyester fibres. ABS plastic shits have high gloss finishing layer convinient for car industry.
Substrates & fertilizers Humko company is specialised in substrate production especialy in mineral-zeolite substrates. New line of Humko Vulkahum substrates provides adequate substrates for inside or outside growing, for ornamental or vegetable plants. High content of mineral components provide good water permeability, high water and nutrition bufer with constant pH-value. For best growing result we use only the best Scotts - Everris fertilizers. For vegetable growing panels we supply organic solid and liquid fertilizers from hidrolised kolagens, dried chicken manure and humin acids from leonardites
Youngplants We supply different programs of youngplants for ASCON & EKENS green walls: -The best high class planting is provide from renomated companies Kientzler, Selecta, All Plants and some other perennial specialists. -Standard planting consist of common perennials well known in green wall planting. -Hardy planting stays for sukulent and hardy plants which have low maintanance demand like Sedum sp., Thymus sp., Sempervivum sp. and similar. -Herbs and aromated plants are specialy sorted for special planting with aroma effect. -Vegetable plants can be localy delivered concerning seasonal planting.

Water Water is the most esential element in ASKON & EKENS green walls. -Tap, rainwater, underground or grey water can be used for irrigation the plants via driping system. -Underground water can be used for heating/ cooling the facade and plants root system. At the same time building is insulated from outside climate conditions. Grey water can be purified through the mineral substrate with zeolites. Plants are asimilating Nitrogen from the water which is circulating through the wall. Rainfalls have no effect on the water bilance of the green wall. Evapo-transpiration
Vulkahum substrates content zeolites and diatomeya clay that reduce the need for water. Water demand for 1 m2 of green wall is between 3-6 l in the season. Early spring and autumn season have only 2-4 l demand per m2. In winter time watering is recomended only to prevent dehidration of plants and roots.
unique form of ASCON & EKENS panels alows every plant to grow in a sloop surface with adjusted rooting zone. Panel prevents substrate dehidration. It makes nice colored surface. Different colors can be combined for each green wall.

There is a lot of solutions on the market made of plastic or stainless steel frame. Many of them must be pregrown in the nurseries which means a lot of planing, maintanance work and costs. Many of them can not be replanted in vertical position. many of them have plastic look and only few colors. Mounting of green wall can be difficult job for specialist.

We prepared new line of Vulkahum substrates with high porosity. Adequate substrate allows good water permeability and medium water capacity depend on plants need. -every Vulkahum substrate last many years (3-20 years) -every Vulkahum substrate contain control release fertilizer and organic fertilizer high on Amino- and Huminacids.

Aditional lighting
Most of indoor green walls except exposed ones need additional asimilation lighting. For sufficient asimilation we provide high presure halide lamps of 70, 100 or 200 watts Time of additional lighting depends on daylight intensivity and plant varieties.

Humko factory Podnart We made trial planting since 2001 with hardy plant like Sedum sp, Sempervivum sp, Thymus and similar. Last four years we made trials with common perrenials and last year we planted most popular perrenials and vegetables.

We plant more than 130 different perrenials to find the best varieties for green walls in alpine climat conditions (summer +35o C, winter -25o C. Plants were planted on a different sun exposure in a different substrates. All three systems were used for trials: Classic green wal with poliester mate, Ascon & Ekens plastic panels and Ascon &Ekens steel panels
