FAMILY-OWNED MATTINGLY CONCRETE HAS A 33-YEAR HISTORY OF PUTTING CUSTOMERS FIRST
Mattingly Concrete is built to last, and the familyowned company is making good on that promise with its recent expansion into the southside of Indianapolis.
With a shop located in Carmel, Mattingly Concrete has extended its service radius to include all sides of Central Indiana, reaching about 45 miles in any direction from its headquarters. In addition to this northside hub, the company has also recently set up another satellite work station on the southside, expanding its services even further into areas like Center Grove, Greenwood and Martinsville. “We’ve built a great business here on the northside of Indianapolis, and we are excited to carry that over to the southside now,” says Owner Will Mattingly. “We are expanding our service area and anticipate adding 50 jobs to the southside over the next five years.”
Mattingly Concrete’s growth has continued rapidly and steadily in recent years. Along the way, the company has garnered plenty of accolades including the 2017 and 2018 Angie’s List Super Service Award, the Indy A-List and more. In 2017 and 2019, Mattingly Concrete was named one of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Fastest-Growing Companies.
“We are a healthy company with a lot of momentum and energy,” Mattingly says. “That is thanks in large part to our stellar employees and our customers. Our customers and their satisfaction are what matters most.”

Mattingly Concrete was founded in 1987. Today, the company handles projects across Central Indiana, but the family-owned business originally comes from a humble beginning.
“Our roots actually started in the Meridian-Kessler/Broad Ripple area,” Mattingly says. “That is where my father, Dan, got his start, simply knocking on doors with a wheelbarrow in his pickup truck.”
Early on, Dan set the standard for Mattingly Concrete projects and the way in which they are completed.
“He was very personable and good with people,” Mattingly says. “And we continue that focus today. As a homeowner, once you’ve worked with a couple of contractors, some of your worst nightmares can come true. And if you’re lucky, you come across a contractor who knows those pain points and knows how to ease your anxiety, and that is who we are.”
Mattingly Concrete has always put the customer first, no matter how large or small the project happens to be the company makes sure to get the job done on time and has open communication with homeowners that makes the entire process work seamlessly. That promise to its customers is proven through the quality of work and countless customer reviews and testimonials. “You get to go to work, come home, and we have done what was supposed to be done,” Mattingly says. “You know we took our notes. We just pride ourselves in the level of service that we provide and making sure that our customers are completely satisfied with the job we’ve done.”
Mattingly Concrete primarily works with homeowners. In fact, Mattingly estimates that about 75% of their projects consist of driveways and patios.
“We’re talking tearing out and totally replacing a driveway or tearing out and totally recreating a backyard patio,” he says.
The company also provides services including steps, sidewalks, porches and decorative concrete such as stamped, colored and exposed aggregate.
While they primarily work with homeowners, Mattingly Concrete provides commercial site work as well, completing projects involving curbing, parking lots, common areas and ADA ramps.
“We look for honesty and integrity over anything,” Mattingly says. “We have a 33-year history and reputation that rides on the line every day, and when we hire people, we express that. The team we have today is fantastic.
“A lot of people find a window contractor or concrete guy, they call, and there’s no answer,” Mattingly says. “So, we try to wow people by answering our phones. It sounds rudimentary, but it really takes just that.”
After accepting a quote from Mattingly Concrete, customers are assigned a project coordinator who makes sure everything is completed correctly and on schedule.
“We have a dedicated team that takes care of our customers,” Mattingly says. “Their sole job is to walk alongside the homeowners and see the project through.”

When it comes to the people they employ, Mattingly Concrete looks for only the best. The hiring process is a rigorous one, and the company only hires highly-trained workers that display professionalism on every job-site.
“We still pride ourselves in having all our own employees — we don’t sub-contract anything,” Mattingly adds. “We’ve separated ourselves from other concrete contractors in that regard. We have all of our own employees and all of our own equipment.”
When they’re not on the clock, Mattingly Concrete employees are out making a difference in the community, whether that is helping someone in need or volunteering their time to a local charity. That level of community service is crucial to Mattingly.
“We’ve had people call us and say, ‘Hey. Your guy just helped me air up my tire at the gas station,’” Mattingly says, adding that the company also works with local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. “Those are the kinds of people that we want working for us. They have our name on their t-shirt, and they wear it proudly.”
All in all, Mattingly Concrete looks to continue providing a service at a level that is unmatched, both on the northside and southside of Indianapolis.
“We are excited to bring that level of service to the southside,” Mattingly says. “We really stress to people that we’re here for them. You can call us anytime.”
