In the November 2021 issue of Carmel Magazine, Dr. Aaron Springhetti, founder of Springhetti Dentistry, explained how education, competition and attention to detail combine to help anyone become the best in any endeavor. As a 2020 Ironman World Championship competitor, Springhetti and his staff at Springhetti Dentistry are committed to treating and educating the Michigan Road corridor communities of Carmel, Village of West Clay and Zionsville about dental health, no matter how young or old. Dental health is not difficult. It’s a matter of habit and technique. Good habits and techniques encourage healthy teeth and gums as well as early diagnosis of problems. This results in better health, and reduced inconvenience and expense.
FIRST STEP - EDUCATION Logic suggests that children should be taught from an early age the tenets of good dental hygiene. If only it were so easy! As parents, our children’s overall health is our responsibility. Therefore, we are responsible for teaching and supporting good habits 4 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / DECEMBER 2021 / TownePost.com
until our children reach the age of majority. As they grow, their needs and situations change. Kids will eat sugary and acidic foods. They’re going to play, dance and sing, and some will compete in sports. After all, exercise, outdoor activities and mental acuity are essential for health and happiness. You’ll grow older and perhaps become lax in your own dental health regimen. Stay strong! Your hygiene habits will be reflected as your kids grow into adults. Remember that a family’s early commitment to brushing, flossing, and limiting sugary and acidic foods is the first step to good dental health. Developing a family’s good dental hygiene habits is what will sustain your mouth’s health throughout their life. Preventive dentistry is a choice. It is easy to acknowledge that this choice is necessary, but it is just as easy to overlook it in our busy lives. Many families believe that twice-peryear dental care is just too expensive, or that a family needs dental insurance in order to develop the habit of healthy dental care - or that everything is OK, so why push their luck? From an early age, parents choose to have regular dental cleaning and checkups. Twice per year is optimal for a healthy family
member. As we age and if problems such as gum disease arise, more frequent visits will be necessary. Cleaning and checkup visits are surprisingly affordable. Because they are a feature in all insurance plans, plan members generally do not see the true cost of a checkup. Again, preventive dentistry is a choice. Many family members will put off the following issues until the pain and/or inconvenience is too much to bear. Do not ignore these warning signs for your family:
Depending on the state of your family’s oral health and age, you could pay as little as $28 per month, which covers two dental cleanings, two exams and all necessary X-rays, a free emergency exam, and also affords 10% off any other dental treatment that may be necessary. For more severe issues, Springhetti Dentistry offers a plan designed for periodontal disease, with four cleanings, two exams and all necessary X-rays, a free emergency exam, as well as 10% off any other dental treatment that may be necessary.
•P ain in your teeth. This worsening discomfort may indicate a broken tooth, gum disease or a large cavity impacting the nerve. • Sore muscles. Your face and jaw should not feel tender or tense. • Snap, crackle or pop. Your jaw joints should not make any noise, click, pop or elicit pain. Your bite should be true and solid. • Foul odors or a metallic taste in your mouth. If anyone in your family notes any of these warning signs, contact your dentist immediately before your dental problems become worse.

Choose Springhetti Dentistry! Every patient receives an estimate of benefits for any potential dental treatment. This outlines the procedure, cost, and coverage, if any. Dental insurance can be utilized to help cover a portion of the cost of any dental procedure. However, if dental insurance is not offered by your employer, or the cost of dental insurance through the market is out of your family’s budget due to the limited coverage it offers, Springhetti Dentistry offers a novel type of membership program that circumvents dental insurance. For most patients it covers more than their insurance would, at a lower monthly cost.

A Life of Service: Lauren Kreutzinger is Dedicated to Helping Nonprofits Achieve Their Mission by Christy Heitger-Ewing Photography provided by VonLehman CPA and Advisory Firm An Indianapolis native, Lauren Kreutzinger grew up near Broad Ripple and attended Bishop Chatard High School before venturing over to the University of Dayton. However, Kreutzinger always planned to return to Indianapolis. “All my family is in the area and that’s where 6 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / DECEMBER 2021 / TownePost.com
I wanted to keep my roots,” says Lauren, who moved back in 2010 to begin her career in public accounting. “In school everything I heard about public accounting was about the Big Four [accounting firms] where you work 80-hour weeks, year-round, with tons of traveling. That wasn’t what I wanted and was a little apprehensive about finding my place in this career.” Despite her initial hesitation, she soon found that a career in public accounting with the right firm could be a great fit— primarily because it offered the opportunity for continuous learning and fueled her desire to make an impact with organizations in her own community. She started out at a local CPA firm who was working to launch their own charitable foundation. Early in the development, she was asked to join the board of directors. “Seeing the impact the small foundation made on the nonprofits in our community really inspired me,” Lauren says. She knew her next career move would involve
nonprofits in some way. In 2014, she joined VonLehman CPA and Advisory Firm in Indianapolis. It was a match made in heaven as the group is heavily involved in serving the nonprofit community. Lauren, who serves on VonLehman’s nonprofit industry team, specializes in providing financial statement services and consulting for nonprofit organizations. One way Kreutzinger and VonLehman give back to their clients and the local nonprofit community is through knowledge-sharing events. Lauren helps plan webinars, panel discussions and roundtables centered around nonprofit issues. “My favorite part of the events we host is witnessing nonprofit leaders share the struggles they face and the issues that impact them,” Lauren says. “I sit back and listen and absorb what they’re saying about those issues – there’s no better way to learn than directly from the people living it every day.” Because there are so many different types of nonprofits, she aims to learn as much as possible to better serve her clients. She enjoys diving deeper into the nonprofit community and learning about their difficulties and needs. “I like how nonprofits keep me on my toes. There’s always a new issue when I talk to clients,” Lauren says. “Maybe they’re struggling to plan for succession or turnover in their leadership positions. Diversity on boards and retaining talent are also both big concerns for any nonprofit right now.”
A more formal view of The VonLehman CPA and Advisory Group Make a Difference Day Team.
Kreutzinger takes part in VonLehman’s annual Make a Difference Day as a way to give back to the community alongside her fellow co-workers. This August they worked with Tangram, a nonprofit whose mission is to create inclusive and sustainable solutions to challenges faced by those impacted by disabilities, and Joy’s House, who provides adult day and caregiver services. Lauren first volunteered at Joy’s House back in high school. “It’s neat to make that full circle and come back to them 15 years later,” she says. Tina McIntosh, President and founder of Joy’s House, notes that through the years they have had a lot of high schoolers pass through their doors because they are in need of philanthropic hours. Many disappear once their requirements are fulfilled. “Lauren is different. She cared about our guests and our mission when she was in school and she has continued to care in so many ways,” says McIntosh. “The impact of her involvement is felt through her heart, financial support and the way that she has introduced VonLehman to our organization. We’re grateful for Lauren and look forward to making a difference in our community for family caregivers and their loved ones, right alongside her, for years to come.”

Lauren lives in Fishers with her husband Kyle and two sons Graham (3) and Elliott (1). In her free time, she likes to hike, exercise and try new recipes. Lauren, who describes herself as a ‘serial hobbyist,’ dives headfirst into new projects she finds intriguing, whether it’s calligraphy, crochet or cake decorating. “I’ll find something that interests me and I’m all in. I’ll buy all the supplies, try it a couple of times, and then admit, ‘That’s a lot of work. I think I’ll buy my cakes from a professional!’” she says with a chuckle. As the year winds down and many nonprofits look to close out their year, Lauren’s days are filled with planning for year-end audits and consulting. “This time of year is busy for me – I’m meeting with clients throughout the week to catch up on their year end results and plan for their annual audits. I really look forward to those meetings…it’s another chance for me to peek inside their day-to-day and learn what they do to make our community such a great place to be!” VonLehman CPA and Advisory Firm’s Indianapolis office is located at 5975 Castle Creek Parkway North Drive, Suite 400, Indianapolis, IN 4650. Hoosier basketball program. “I was recruiting players and talking to families — getting to know players and what makes them tick,” Derek says. “That’s pretty much how Don explained this job at United Fidelity Bank to me. I’m the Community Development Officer and really what that entails is building relationships and getting the name known to the public.” Born in Tipton, Derek grew up around the game of basketball, as his father Darrel played collegiately under Coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina in the early ‘70s.
Hi! I’m Derek Elston AND THIS IS MY FAMILY Writer / Seth Johnson Photographer / Justin Sicking
While playing under Coach Tom Crean as a member of the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team, Derek Elston gained an important piece of advice. “You introduce yourself to anybody because you never know what’s going to happen,” Derek says. These words of wisdom led Derek to his current role as Community Development Officer at United Fidelity Bank in Carmel. It was while coaching at a basketball camp held by former teammate Victor Oladipo that Derek met United Fidelity Bank President and CEO Don Neel, and the rest
was history. “As a coach of one of the teams, I was able to draft my players, and one of the guys I drafted ended up being the President and CEO of the bank,” Derek says. “He was a big Hoosier fan. He said if I was ever looking to get out of basketball, he had a perfect position for me.” Prior to his position at United Fidelity Bank, Derek worked under IU coaches Tom Crean and Archie Miller from 2015 to 2019 as Director of Player Development, where his responsibilities included recruiting, player mentoring and more. In his role at United Fidelity Bank, he now uses some of the same skill sets he developed as a part of the 8 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / DECEMBER 2021 / TownePost.com
“My older brother and I spent so much time together watching basketball and reading old articles about my dad,” Derek says. “In a nutshell, that was my upbringing. Everything was based around sports.” While it was always his dream to follow in his father’s footsteps, Derek chose to play basketball at Indiana University, as then Coach Tom Crean ensured him he’d play a role in resurrecting the program. “At that time, there was just so much going on at IU with Coach Sampson getting fired,” Derek says. “Their record was terrible. So I was going to come there to change the program around — myself and my class. I really liked that I was going to be there and I was going to play right away. Plus, I was only an hour and 40 minutes from home.” In his first two seasons at IU, the team struggled mightily, failing to make the NCAA tournament both years. In his junior and senior campaigns, however, IU found great success, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2012 and winning a Big Ten Championship in 2013. After going through so much together, Derek says he still keeps in touch

with the players from those IU squads. “Guys are off doing their own thing now, but we all like to just check in and see how everybody’s doing because it was a family,” Derek says. “Guys on campus, regular students, they’re in their fraternities. Girls have their sororities. But we had our own fraternity of brotherhood, with that being basketball.” Following his years at IU, Derek spent some time playing basketball professionally overseas. It was prior to a season with the Plymouth Raiders in England that he met his now-wife, Caroline, while grabbing coffee at the Starbucks in Clay Terrace. “She was there, sitting in the corner working on her laptop, and I honestly just asked her if it was okay if I bought her a coffee,” Derek says. “We sat and talked and ended up going to dinner that night.” The day after their first date, Derek
unfortunately had to fly over to England to begin his season with the Plymouth Raiders. Through the magic of FaceTime, however, the two were able to stay in touch and picked things right back up when Derek returned home. Since getting married in 2018, Derek and Caroline have discussed where would be best to start a family. When the opportunity arose for Derek to work at United Fidelity Bank, the couple jumped at the opportunity to move back to Central Indiana. “My wife is a Butler grad and has a lot of friends in the area,” Derek says. “We ended up finding a place in Zionsville, and to be 20 minutes from friends has just been amazing. We absolutely love the house we have and the community we’re in.” Derek and Caroline are now expecting their first child, Parker Jeneva, in December. In addition to being in a great community near friends and family, the couple are also TownePost.com / DECEMBER 2021 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / 9
excited to raise their daughter in a good school system. “One of the big things we’ve talked about is schools, and the school systems around this area are just incredible,” Derek says. “We’re just ready to start a family and can’t wait.” Derek sums up the Elston Family Plan; “In 5 years, I see myself flourishing in my role as the Community Development Officer at United Fidelity Bank, and really trying to make a difference for Carmel and the surrounding areas. I want to continue to have a positive impact and be known as a difference-maker. Caroline has just launched a new cheese and charcuterie venture “Platterful” and she is very excited about getting this business built up in the local area and Nationally! Ultimately, I see Caroline and myself getting more involved in other aspects of the community as our roots and family grow here - we are expecting our first child in late December. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!”

HOMEMADE ICE CREAM & BAKERY CAFÉ MAKES CUSTOMERS FEEL AT HOME
McAlister’s Deli restaurants in 2015, the deli concept was extremely popular, with a wide variety of quality products that people enjoyed, combined with an emphasis on friendly service. “We wanted to combine the best of those two brands - a popular assortment of great food products mixed with quick and friendly service - and operate the concept out of a very comfortable bakery cafe environment,” Hensley says. “We think we accomplished our goals.”

has turned out to be a great new addition to the chain of successful businesses.
Walking into Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café, located on North Michigan Road, is a lot like stepping into your grandma’s kitchen - the aromas, the pies in the oven, the leather couch and lounge chairs, the fireplace ablaze and the view onto the pond. Everything is neat and clean, and the table is set with ceramic plates and silverware.
“We opened on August 2, 2021,” Hensley says. “Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café [homemadecafes.com] is a brand-new concept. Many people are starting to call us ‘Homemade.’ We tried to create a brand that kept all the very popular dessert products from our Pie Kitchen concept [piekitchen. com] that has been operating in Louisville for over 30 years. We wanted to combine it with a menu of quality soups, salads and sandwiches based on what we learned when we brought McAlister’s Deli to central Indiana back in 2003.”
It’s the holidays at Homemade Café. Charles Hensley, chief executive officer of Homemade Cafés, LLC, says he’s glad customers feel that way. He’s also happy the new Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café
Hensley adds that until his team sold their 10 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / DECEMBER 2021 / TownePost.com
The Zionsville/Carmel/Village of West Clay location on the Michigan Road retail corridor fits in perfectly with the company’s future plans. “Zionsville is a great place to conduct business, with very favorable residential and business demographics,” Hensley says. “The quality of the area, combined with the favorable attributes of the specific location, were instrumental in making the decision to open in Zionsville.” Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café can be somewhat hard to see from Michigan Road traveling north or south. Just focus on the east side of the road while approaching Weston Pointe Drive and Michigan Road. Hensley believes customers will appreciate the wide variety of menu options at Homemade.
“I think what people will grow to enjoy from their local Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café is the variety and quality of baked goods and desserts that you don’t find in a normal bakery or grocery store,” Hensley says. “It’s like seeing jewelry in a jewelry store when you walk into our store, and immediately see our glass display cases full of fresh-made fruit and meringue pies, layer cakes, cookies and pastries.” Homemade has trained bakers who are busy working in front of guests, keeping the display cases full of fresh desserts and the atmosphere filled with delicious aromas. “The bakers designed their recipes to resemble what your grandmother may have made back in a time when baking in the home was more commonplace,” Hensley says. “I remember my mother making tasty chocolate meringue pies for special occasions, or my grandmother always having an apple or blueberry pie on the counter to enjoy. Homemade offers items that you can’t find everywhere. If you want a loaf of bread or a doughnut, you won’t find it at Homemade. We offer those items that you enjoy but seem to never find time to make yourself.” The Homemade staff simply wants to produce food and desserts that are affordable, taste great, are consistent, and remind customers of home and family.
“Although the prices we pay for our quality ingredients and skilled labor seem to be increasing daily, we have engineered our products with the hope to keep prices affordable for our guests,” Hensley says. Homemade is also a very cozy place. “We designed the restaurant to be a comfortable place to sit and relax by yourself, in a lounge chair, in front of the fireplace or with family, eating on our patio overlooking the pond,” Hensley says. “Our Zionsville store has a large folding door that can open up to the patio when the weather cooperates. We hope the smell of freshbaked cookies, pies or croissants creates a pleasant environment to enjoy your slice of pie, coffee, or soup and sandwich.” Hensley says the desserts are very popular. “Our top seller at our Pie Kitchen stores in Louisville is the Caramel Dutch Apple pie,” he says. “You can ask for it to be heated and include a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It will become one of your favorites. People enjoy our Chocolate, Coconut, and Lemon Meringue pies. Our cakes have been very popular.” Hensley adds that the ice cream is as close to homemade as customers will find. “We make it just like your grandfather may have made it, with milk, cream and sugar,” TownePost.com / DECEMBER 2021 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / 11
he says. “We don’t include eggs like our competitors. As a result, the texture is still very creamy but slightly icier than others serve. I happen to enjoy it more than the heavy ice cream that others serve.” Hensley stresses that Homemade’s menu is new. “The Chicken Croissant sandwich is very popular as well as the French Dip,” Hensley says. “I don’t want to use the standard slices of roast beef for our French Dip. I prefer the beef to be quality, pulled pot roast. We marinate the beef overnight to enhance the flavor. We also have several soups and salads that are popular and are served with a freshbaked croissant. Also, we make Buckeyes daily, along with Cake Drops that are very popular for parties and events.” Hensley has his own personal menu favorites. “My personal favorites are the Caramel Dutch Apple pie with a scoop of ice cream, both Chess pies, a slice of German Chocolate, Strawberry or Carrot cake, the
French Dip, Homemade Club sandwich, and the California Chicken salad,” he says. “My all-time favorite from our store is the Butter Pecan ice cream. I love the soft texture, and rarely return to Indy from Louisville without a pint of Butter Pecan to eat on the road. I’ll put it this way - if I get across the Ohio River bridge before the pint is finished, I must have taken an important phone call. It’s great.” Call Club Canine for additional information and to register your puppy!

Vasiento expects the same for Homemade Ice Cream & Bakery Café.

CAFE CAMARADERIE UPTOWN CAFE OWNER CHOOSES CARMEL FOR THIRD LOCATION
Writer / Jon Shoulders Photographer / Brian Brosmer
The key to Uptown Cafe Owner Jonathon Smith’s success is, to him, no mystery. It’s all about the staff he’s been surrounded with since opening his first location in 2013. Smith is opening a third Uptown Cafe in Carmel, and says existing managers and additional employees who have worked at the other two Uptown spots are part owners of the upcoming Carmel location, including Kyle Helpling, Steve Echols and Pat Baron. “Everybody is invested, not just financially,
but emotionally and physically, in the business,” Smith says. “All of us are local and grew up in this area. We’ve built a menu around ingredients and products that we know Hoosiers like. It’s a special group.”
the same systems, the same routines and the same recipes, so I said why not grow a restaurant for each of my managers and people that want to be partners down the road?”
Smith and some of his employees have worked together for nearly 15 years.
Smith adds that timing was a major factor in choosing Carmel for the next Uptown restaurant, which, like the other two locations, serves breakfast, brunch and lunch items.
“I’m the oldest at 40, and we all grew up together learning,” he says. “When we had the opportunity to grow Uptown, and everyone I’ve worked with continues to need a career, I was thinking, ‘How can I help these people out so they don’t leave and go somewhere else?’ We all know 16 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / DECEMBER 2021 / TownePost.com
“When we found the location it was already set up as a breakfast restaurant,” he says. “I was able to purchase all the furniture and equipment, so it kept my overhead low. The
location is really just perfect.” Smith first spotted the Carmel space in late April, eventually signing a lease in May. Light renovations followed for the next several months, and he’s planning for an official opening in early November. “We’re going to open the doors and take people as they come,” Smith says. “Word of mouth is how we built our business from the beginning, and it’s the best form of advertising in restaurants.” After growing up in Indy and attending Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Smith went on to study at Purdue University before taking on several different positions within the restaurant industry around the state of Indiana. “When I was 16 I wanted a car, and my mom and dad told me to get a job,” Smith recalls. “My best friend told me his uncle owned a restaurant, so that was my introduction to the food industry. I really grew up in the industry, and still enjoy it after 24 years in it.” Smith opened the original Noblesville Uptown Cafe location in 2013, and the second location in Indianapolis opened in 2017. The Noblesville store underwent a significant expansion in 2019. The menu at all three locations is the same and includes breakfast bowls, Benedicts, house-made baked goods, specialty omelets, salads, soups, sandwiches and more. “We’re trying to keep the same feel at Carmel as the other restaurants,” Smith

says. “This Carmel location is two or three times the size of the other restaurants, so there’s a lot more opportunity when it comes to having a private meeting space, and we have a covered patio. We’re going to keep that diner, breakfast-and-lunch feel, but we have opportunity down the road to grow into catering and things on the patio. That’s the best part about Carmel, that we can broaden our horizons.”

Smith says the fact that the kitchen staff makes its breads, pastries and condiments in-house has gone over well with customers, and the Benedict selection is particularly popular, along with the breakfast bowls and salads. “Having the same menu and hours at all three locations helps keep us fresh and up to date with what everyone is doing,” he says. “If people are driving through Carmel and maybe usually go to Noblesville, and they want to try Carmel out, I want them to have the same experience in Carmel that they have up in Noblesville or in Indianapolis.” The most important element for Smith when it comes to all of his Uptown locations is a welcoming environment, both for patrons and staff. “I played football at Hamilton Southeastern, and I’ve got pictures of me playing Carmel that I’m going to put up at the Carmel restaurant,” he says. “I want to continue that hometown feel. To have a Noblesville, Indianapolis and now a Carmel restaurant is nice. If we could have one in Fishers I’d like to have one there as well. It’s just nice to continue to grow with this family of people working here that continue to invest their time and sweat in the business.” For more info on Uptown Cafe including menu details, online ordering, or jobs, visit uptowncafes.com.

It’s a fond memory for Bill. “She stayed behind after the party and said she wanted to help me clean up, but she was really scoping out my house to see how clean it was,” he says. “What she didn’t know was that I’d been so busy, I decided to hire a cleaning service before the party…so the house was spotless. And that’s all it took!” On FoH trips, Kathy takes the role of educator. “Installing the purifier systems is only half of the job,” says Bill. “Kathy helps with the ministry and teaches health and hygiene classes to the women and children drinking the water.” Coupled with the filtration systems, Kathy’s work saves lives by stopping the spread of water-borne disease. The Farrar’s have recently been forced to postpone several of FoH’s mission trips due to another disease: COVID-19. “FoH had to pivot by going deeper into the communities
we already had access to,” explains Bill. “In the countries that were locked down, people had no income. They were starving and they couldn’t feed their children.” FoH sprang into action to provide food to families in need. “We have a way to get a pallet of Pack Away Hunger food into Haiti that feeds 7,128 kids for only $250,” says Bill. The food, which comes in dehydrated packets, is easy to prepare and packed with nutrients. The organization is also sponsoring schools, helping children continue their education despite their parents’ financial situation. “A donation of $100 per month covers schooling for up to 30 kids – both the teacher’s salary and the food for everyone to eat,” says Bill. Their largest school, in Haiti, now boasts 360 students. Right now, the best way to help FoH is by becoming a regular monthly donor. In addition to funding education, pallets of food, and water purifier systems, regular TownePost.com / DECEMBER 2021 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / 21
donations will allow FoH to fund its latest venture: filter buckets, which are $40 apiece. Since the purifiers are often installed at schools, children carry water home in open buckets or jars. Filter buckets allow children to re-filter the supply they take home, preserving its safety. Another way to support FoH is to buy tickets for the organization’s annual Hues of Blue Winter Gala, which will take place on December 4th, 2021. Guests will enjoy free cocktail drinks, the Cool City Band and a special dinner while dressed in blue cocktail attire. Local businesses are also encouraged to donate auction items for the evening. “How else can we help our community?” was the question the team at Seland Chiropractic Center pondered last year. After decades of treating patients, much research and travel to tour other health care offices, Dr. Trond Seland expanded the services offered at Seland Chiropractic. These services are offered within their new Nauticus Laser and Wellness Center. Nauticus Laser had its soft opening the end of 2020. “Nauticus means Adventurer,” Dr Seland says. Adventure of Life! “My patients’ health concerns have become more complex in the last several years with the demands and toxicities within our world,” Dr. Seland says. Too many people within our community suffer with poor health that robs their ability to enjoy their every day. Dr. Seland’s team is now focused on “Adjusting with the Power of Light and the Inspiration of Hope!” Seland and his team have used lasers for many years to treat joint pain, issues related to herniated discs, sciatica, whiplash and other conditions with great success. 26 / CARMEL MAGAZINE / DECEMBER 2021 / TownePost.com
“Our patients love the laser therapy,” Dr. Seland says. Summus Medical Laser, the company that made the lasers, upgraded their technology with a design aimed specifically to treat peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral Neuropathy, which is typically caused by type 2 diabetes, chemotherapy or trauma, is when patients can no longer feel their fingers, toes or feet normally. They experience a burning, tingling sensation that feels like they are walking on glass. Many neuropathy patients feel like they have a sock rolled under their foot. Dr. Seland still vividly recalls a chiropractic patient he had three decades ago who suffered with this condition. Though Dr. Seland helped rid the man of his back pain, the patient’s medical

He ultimately died of complications from type 2 diabetes. “I’ll never forget what I witnessed that patient go through,” Dr. Seland says. “There was no hope.” Now THERE IS HOPE, as this Nauticus Neuropathy laser program heals people three to five times faster than traditional methods.
