Center Grove High School Softball Senior Tribute
The IHSAA canceled the 2020 high school Spring sports season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This ended the high school careers of five Center Grove softball seniors. We are honoring these outstanding young ladies with this special salute. CG softball head coach Alyssa Coleman had the following praise for her seniors.
JILLIAN RANSDELL
“The best quality about Jill is that she wore her emotions on her sleeve. There was never a doubt about her energy, focus and allin mentality for her team. The game is meant to be played with emotion, and Jill gave us all she had. Something her teammates, coaches and fans will always remember.”
BROOKE YORK
“Brooke’s strongest asset was her consistent stronghold in how she worked. Never too high and never too low. She at times was that perfect piece that made the whole puzzle fit. I will always appreciate her fundamental and consistent approach she brought to our program.”
ADDISON OSBORN
“It would be a lie if I said I wasn’t going to miss her spirit in our program. She is one of the toughest kids I have ever seen play. If we asked our team to run through a wall, she would be the first to break it down, get back up and carry on running, all with a smile on her face. She had the skill, and the personality of a great teammate that helped us thrive as a team.”
LEXI FAIR
“What a competitor. She played with fire and never let up. I am so thankful to have had the chance to coach an athlete with such fierce passion and desire. What most don’t realize either, she has one of the most nurturing hearts as well. She not only made her teammates better, but as a coach, I feel I got better. She set that bar of expectation so high that we all had to grow to keep up with her.”
KENNEDY BADER
“The ultimate teammate. I cannot put into words how proud I am of her growth within our program, and how thankful I am to have always had her support as a coach. She is that athlete that never stops working, always listens with her eyes and is as much respected on the field as she is off. She is that leader that doesn’t realize how much of an impact she has always made by just being herself.”
“This senior class has had so much success as a whole,” Coach Coleman adds. “They did it all with so much change along the way, and they still made it seem smooth. They were able to do this because each of them brought something special to the table. Like anything good, their strengths filled one another weaknesses to create something special and memorable. I am just so thankful that they have left this program better than they found it.”
