Leading Man: Daniel Hauser Takes on Lead Pastor Duties at Holy Cross Lutheran Church

Daniel Hauser, the new lead pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Indianapolis, couldn’t be more thrilled about his new job.
“I am jumping into a ministry that God has used to impact so many individuals and families,” he says. “What attracted me to this ministry was the opportunity to build upon a great foundation, while partnering with the current incredible leaders and ministry teams. I love the success of the school here, and how the school gives the whole ministry the amazing opportunity to come alongside so many young families.”
Hauser comes to Indiana from Little Rock, Arkansas, where he served at Christ Little Rock Church for almost nine years as a lead pastor.
“In Little Rock I was given the opportunity to help revive a church and school that had more than a decade of decline and struggle,” Hauser says. “With the help of God, we were able to turn it into a healthy, stable ministry that focused on reaching the greater Little Rock community. We launched a second site of the ministry about a year ago. Before Little Rock I served a large ministry in Katy, Texas, in a variety of roles.”
Hauser’s family is also excited about Holy Cross.
best friends, but we are a team in life, in ministry and in all that we do. We have a house full of kids. Our oldest, Elizabeth, is 15. We have boy-and-girl twins named Nate and Hannah, who are 13. Four years ago we fostered a little boy who has become our 8-year-old son, Noah. We finalized the adoption of his little sister, Kimberly, who is 2. As a family we love to go camping, spend time on the water and just be together.”
Hauser appreciates the Hamilton County area.
“Andrea and I are both originally from the Midwest, so it feels like we are coming home,” he says. “We also have some extended family and friends in the Fishers and Carmel area, and have always been impressed with the community.”
Hauser has also been impressed with Holy Cross Lutheran School.
“The school is amazing,” Hauser says. “Principal Karen Geiger has created an excellent staff, and an incredible culture in the school. Over the past nine months, COVID has made operating a school very difficult. Yet, Holy Cross has thrived. I am thrilled to have my younger four kids attend Holy Cross Lutheran School, and honored to partner with Principal Geiger to continue developing the culture.”
Hauser is eager to welcome everyone to Holy Cross.
“If you don’t have a church or home, or are looking for a great school, come check us out,” Hauser says. “My vision for Holy Cross is that we are a ministry for the community. I am anxious to get my feet on the ground, invest in the community, and see how God leads Holy Cross to make a difference.”
