Good Wishes for the Holiday Season
GOOD WISHES FOR THE 2020 HOLIDAY SEASON
While the 2020 holidays will be different in ways, the season still brings opportunities to spend time with family and friends and to be thankful for blessings that have come our way.
In Jeffersontown, we have lots of reasons to celebrate our community spirit. Our residents have stepped up and helped their neighbors during tough times this year, and our city employees have worked hard to ensure that Jeffersontown
looks good and serves residents well. We have found ways to still have fun with our Fourth of July fireworks show, drive-through Pumpkinfest, reimagined Gaslight Festival and upcoming Holiday Light Show and Zoom calls with Santa. (See details on the facing page.) The Jeffersontown City Council and I look forward to a holiday season more like past ones in the year to come. In meantime, we will strive as always to be thankful, be kind and be good people to one another. Best Wishes, Jeffersontown Mayor Bill Dieruf & the Jeffersontown City Council

“Holiday activities will be different this year. We decided to offer Zoom calls with Santa to bring kids some special Christmas joy.” — Mayor Bill Dieruf
Talking to Santa Claus goes high-tech in 2020 with video calls
Even Santa Claus has gotten into the mode of Zoom calls in 2020. He’ll miss seeing children in person, of course. But he’s glad he will get to see their smiling faces online.
The City of Jeffersontown has lined up Santa for five-minute Zoom calls or phone calls with children from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5. Starting Nov. 1, parents can schedule an appointment via SignUpGenius at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/jtownsanta. More appointments will be added if there is demand for it. There is no cost for the calls.
Parents will be able to fill out a questionnaire about their kids so Santa is prepared for the call.

HOLIDAY LIGHT SHOW BRIGHTENS THE SEASON AT VETERANS PARK
The City of Jeffersontown will celebrate the season with a Holiday Light Show at Veterans Memorial Park, 10707 Taylorsville Road.
The drive-through light display will begin Nov. 27 and last through Dec. 31.
On Monday, Dec. 21, Santa Claus and some of his elves will be on hand to greet guests from 6 to 7:30 p.m. At that time, candy canes will be handed out at the end of the drive through.
BRING LETTERS TO SANTA TO MAILBOX AT CITY HALL
Some holiday traditions are a go! Again this year, the Letters to Santa mailbox will be on the steps of City Hall, 10416 Watterson Trail.
Bring your children’s letters to the mailbox between Nov. 23 and Christmas Eve.
