Company restructure · Rebuilt the editorial operation on a more streamlined basis, including interviewing for and recruiting an assistant editor and digital editor. · Oversaw a rapid restructuring and turnaround of the company in 2014, which moved it from loss to profit in just 60 days. · Helped to build new partnerships, including charitable initiatives, that gave our brand more visibility.

Magazine & website · Managed an integrated editorial team with a wide range of responsibilities. · Commissioned features—liaising with journalists and columnists—and identified and recruited numerous new writers. · Oversaw a huge expansion of our digital operation, including a redesign of the magazine’s website to incorporate new verticals and advertising opportunities. · Managed a tight budget across both operations, which came in well under target every month.

Podcast & sponsorship · Launched the Reader’s Digest Podcast in November 2015. · Co-wrote the content, managed the editing process, and set up and conducted many celebrity interviews. Examples can be found on my website. · Helped to promote the podcast and built an audience in the thousands, which quickly attracted sponsorship from Lifebook.

Oversaw the entire production of the magazine to publication. This involved researching, writing, commissioning, sub-editing, proofreading and fact-checking. I also co-ordinated several departments under tight deadlines and began expanding our digital operations.

A key part of the team that won the Editor of the Year at the BSME awards. I came up with ideas for columns, crafted features and pitched ideas for "special editions”, wrote several articles and found better ways to interact with readers via social media.
