Atrial housing complex in Pęcice academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design 02 semester ______________________________________________________ The development in a small town of Pęcice, ca. 20km from Warsaw and with a good connection with the capital was designed as a series of single-family housing consisting of 10 joined bungalows that create small closed-off gardens. Each of the L-shaped buildings is composed of two adjoined parts: a ca. 150 sqm apartment and a small business premise of about 38 sqm. A single unit is supposed to house a family model of 2+1 or 2+2 and as a perfect solution for people working in the capital, but evading the bustle of a big city or for those working freelance. The minimalist design shapes the building as a set of boxes clad in wooden panels or glazed and framed by a white stroke of protruding slabs and walls.

Multi-family housing in Warsaw academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design 05 semester ______________________________________________________ The building located in the Praga district in Warsaw was designed on a triangular shaped lot as 4-to-5-floor housing unit with the ground floor dedicated to business premises. The apartments range from 38 to 80 sqm and are reached by an open staircase and gallery in the norther part of the building - a type of multifamily housing rarely seen in European cities. The characteristical element of the building is a metal mesh surrounding the ground floor and rising up on a concrete frame to cover the open staicase. The southern part rising to 5-floors is clad in corten panels to distinguish it from the rest of the building as it also and stands obove the main entrance.

Multi-family housing in Warsaw academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design 06 semester ______________________________________________________ The Tarchomin district of Warsaw is an expanding residential area on the outskirts of the capital. The housing unit stands on a long site in a yet undeveloped area and features 55 flats ranging from 49 to 106 sqm. The ground floor and part of the underground level is dedicated to business premises. The main feature of the design is the middle part of the building which was moved away from the street and gradually lowerd to ground level. The area in the central part of the plot formed a public space with access to all the commercial premises and amenities of the building. The sloped roof was covered with vegetation to create the illusion of an urban hill. *This project was picked for the ‘Augmented Reality - Contemporary Architect’s Workshop’ exhibition.

Modular geriatric clinic with daily care in Warsaw academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design 08 semester ______________________________________________________ The idea behind the geriatric clinic with daily care rooms in the Powiśle district in Warsaw came from the assumption that contemporary cities focus on the young generation sometimes forgetting about the elders. Powiśle is a example of an area where new academic buildings stand side by side with old townhouses - the new blends with the old. The building is formed with hexagon modules structured as a centrally supported wooden lattice that can be freely connected and expanded. A single unit has an area of 45.8 sqm which is enough to fit a corridor with adjoining counceling rooms, toilets, workshop rooms, etc. The total area of the building in this particular configuration is 816 sqm and it is divided into two wings - one for the geriatric clinic and one for daily care workshop rooms.

Residential development in Warsaw academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design 05 semester ______________________________________________________ Urban design for a residential development in Warsaw in the region called â€˜Ĺ uk Siekierkowski’. The central and eastern parts consist of services and educational facilities. Housing units are intensified and higher towards the proposed Czerniakowskabis road and slightly smaller and less intensified towards an artificial lake in the northern part of the land. The main idea was to intensify open public spaces and connect them with semi-public spaces that are limited with higher buildings and to evade creating closed enclaves of fenced housing units.

Mixed development in Warsaw academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design 06 semester ______________________________________________________ The area of Zawisza Square in Warsaw is a major transportation hub in the capital where roads going in and out of the city, tram and train lines all intersect in this point. At the same time is a place that lacks the amenities to make it agreeable. The project consists of two high-rise buildings around Zawisza Square and a mixed development west of Towarowa St. composed of office and business quarter between Grójecka St. and above rail tracks, cultural center in the area of former railway station Warszawa Główna and a residential development south of Kolejowa St.

Redevelopment of former railway station Warszawa Główna academic project - individual BSc Architecture and urban design thesis project ______________________________________________________ Warszawa Główna railway station was for almost fifty years a temporary solution after the main station in Warsaw was destroyed during World War II. In 1990s its operation was terminated and the Railway Museum moved into its empty halls. During the next twenty years this cultural facility failed to attract wider attention. The area remais stagnant and unattractive - a state in which many railway areas in Poland remain for years. The redevelopment of Warszawa Główna station and the surrounding area is an attempt to rehabilitate a pice of land that has become inoperational. The design proposes to further expand the cultural function of the building and to add conference rooms, auditoriums and business premises. This complex with a total of 8277 sqm is divided into the later station building and three perpendicular pavilions holding the train exposition with auxiliary rooms and the conference center.

Green infrastructure amenities in the Powiśe district in Warsaw competition entry - collaboration BMW/URBAN/TRANSFORMS 2014 design team: Tomasz Sobol /urban design, visual presentation/ Barbara Dziduszko /concept, landscape architecture/

______________________________________________________ Powiśle district in Warsaw lays between the central district and the Vistula river. It’s a place full of green areas going from south to north. It is an area undergoing severe redevelopment and becoming a popular and fashionable place for city dwellers. Green infrastructure is a way of processing water pollution coming from stormwater. Instead of being drained through engineered collection system the idea is to filter is by soil and plants. This decreases the pollution of stormwater and helps increase the quality of receiving waters (Vistula river). At the scale of a city green infrastructure provides cleaner air and water, flood protection and creates new habitats.

An aplication called ‘Urbasee’ working in the environment of augmented reality. With this software a 3d architectural model is displayed on the screen of a mobile device when pointing at a ‘marker’. Four semestral projects from the Faculty of Architecture were picked as a basis of this exhibition. Each one had to be optimised to be used in the environment of augmented reality.
