Are End of Lease Cleaners Worth the Money? A lot of people when they move out think that they can handle the cleaning by themselves but for majority of people, they've never undertaken such a big clean before. If you've ever moved house you know that it's quite exhausting and when you look back at your old property after its completely empty you'll realise that going back through and cleaning it is a huge job. This is why you need to weigh up whether or not you're going to do it yourself or hire a professional to do it for you. You need to ask yourself have you done this before. Am I the best cleaner or am I quite lazy? Have I kept my place clean throughout the tenancy? If you've never undertaken an end of lease clean you'll soon find out that it's one of the toughest cleaning tasks that anyone can undertake. If you've maintained the property regularly by cleaning it every week or two then generally you'll find a job isn't as big or as hard as opposed to someone who doesn't clean and on a regular basis. If you clean your shower for example every fortnight the tile grout will generally stay clean but if you pay cleaners to come in once every 6 to 12 months then you find the grouting will discolour and the tiles will have a lot of build-up making the job a lot harder and more time-consuming. This is why regular maintenance or regular cleaning of your property is important as it will generally save you a lot of money off your move out cleaning bill if you actually decide to hire a company. If you're going to take on the task yourself and you haven't got all that much experience, it's definitely worth checking out some you tube videos on how to clean and oven for example. In these videos they'll show you step-by-step processes involved so you can clean the oven using normal supermarket grade products. It might take a little bit longer to do than say if you have a professional cleaner come in, but it can save yourself a good $80+ by cleaning the oven yourself and this is one of the more cumbersome tasks during the move out cleaning process. One thing that you will probably have to do is hire a professional for cleaning the carpets (if you have any). You can always hire a machine generally found in supermarkets, but to be honest these are mostly a waste time. Usually they take such a long time to clean one room and on top of that they do such a bad job as they usually only work off one jet and the pressure a.k.a. PSI is so low that it doesn't really penetrate the carpet fibre all that well. So what I'm trying to say is that machine isn't powerful enough to do a good job which can cost you more time, more money and in most cases the agent will have the carpets redone at your expense (taking money off your bond). You can find a good professional carpet cleaner at a decent price just by scouring the Internet looking for local carpet cleaners and making sure you check the good and bad reviews. That way you'll pick a good carpet cleaner who is reliable and a decent price plus you'll save yourself a percentage off your bond money at the same time. The rest of the property you'll need to go through the end of lease cleaning checklist with a fine tooth comb. Grab a list off the net and work your way through it carefully going one room at a time. By doing this you won't miss anything as the agents and landlords can be quite fussy. They won't want to put their hand in their pocket to fix anything and they'll be more than eager to get their hands on your bond money. This is why going through the list carefully is important. If you find something on the list that you’re unsure how to clean, just Google it or check on you tube. I got some great tips on how to clean my oven just by watching some you tube videos. Yes, end of lease cleaning is a hard task but if you've got the time and you're on a tight budget you might want to do this yourself. You can save yourself $300! If not, find a good reliable move out cleaning company to handle the task for you. These guys work at a good pace and obviously they
tackle these sort of jobs every day so they know what they're doing. Definitely worth the money and not only that most will give you a bond back guarantee or some type of assurance that they will fix any oversights or problems if the agent or landlord isn't happy.
