Canada Passport: Raising Prices Canadian passport authority has announced that it will introduce a new ten year passport with distinctive historical watermark features and an embedded computer chip which indicates the cost of renewing Canada passport will rise. The new one will be full of iconic pictures that will make Canada passport more secure and attractive. These pictures showcase Canada's heritage and history and the monuments of the country. As from 1st July, 2013 all new Canada passport will be going to be of 36 page electronic passports knows as E-passport. Right now, applicants age is 16 and up will have the choice of applying for a passport with either a five to ten year validation for both the first time applications or renewals of Canada passport. Your new E-passport will cost up to $ 160 and for kids it will be $ 57.
Canadian foreign affairs minister John Baird recently unveiled the new chip techno Canada passport. The minister said: "they just look like the recent passport, but with new security features that make Canada passport more tamper proof". When the important information is stored in the E-chip and additional information about immigrant travel will be stored on the E-chip. There are almost 100 countries, including France, the United States and the UK have been using E-Passports for several years with no reported chip failure problem. Now Canada is the only G8 country that doesn't issue E-Passports to the common public, although it has been issuing chip-enhanced diplomatic and special passports since year 2009.
