Please mention The Sentinella when responding to adverts The Trouble With Pools...
When we talk to our buyers, anyone and everyone who wants to buy in this part of Spain in the countryside has one thing on their minds – “we want a pool!!” Having been the owner of a pool at our B&B for the past 20 years, many of those reading this who are also pool owners will know what I mean when one asks if it’s such a good thing. You have leaks, tiles that come off, and having to re-grout, back-breaking work regularly cleaning them, massive water evaporation in the summer making your pool guzzle up too much precious water, that horrible green algae that floats in clouds in your otherwise perfect pool, scrubbing off that brown sticky stuff on the edges that is sun tan lotion. And so it goes on! So the trouble with pools is they can be fun, but also a lot of effort and bother! And worst of all, as pool owners, we often end up doing all the hard work so that other people, (friends, family or paying guests) can enjoy it, and not us! Now with the wonderful invention of pool cleaning robots, life is becoming easier on the middle back, but they are expensive and also need maintenance. And getting other people to do that work for you can also be expensive. And then we have the chemicals, the endless products and tools required and so it goes on! Of course, despite this, everyone still wants a pool! The worst problem we have currently as property agents is that there are not enough houses for sale with a pool! They are few and far between at this time, especially at a reasonable price, and much of this problem stems from the fact that it is not permitted to build pools in the countryside, so the only alternative (often the best one, I have to say!) is to have an above ground pool that can be packed away at the end of the Summer. So, if you are sick of maintaining that pool, just for the benefit of others, I have the best solution – sell up your home with a pool and buy something without one! We have the eager buyers, so get in touch and we will help to pass on the Trouble with Pools to someone else! Toni Waterman Unspoilt Andalusia Real Estate See main advert below

The Costa Animal Society (CAS) is seeking animal-loving, energetic, social media savvy persons to come on board. If you’re a compassionate person who respects the lives of unfortunate animals who live a treacherous life in the wild, hop aboard. There is an occasional heartache, but the rewards in homing animals and receiving videos of these rescue dogs and cats romping about in their forever homes is something to behold.
We are a small, voluntary charity organisation that has been successfully rehoming and assisting abandoned animals in the Nerja, Frigiliana and Maro for over 30 years. We are presently looking for enthusiastic people to join our committee, continuing the work started by the sitting committee, some of whom have recently stepped down after many, many (some, decades) of years of service.
Most importantly, the official posts of President and Secretary need to be filled. For more information, please contact acting President Mae Delaney on 601 629 938. (It should be noted that these are voluntary, unpaid). If interested, there will be a long-standing cadre of volunteers to provide all the necessary details and assist you along the way. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
For more information please stop by the shop or feel free to call our shop manager May Delaney on 601 629 938

He was a lucky boy!!
I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married.
There was only one little thing bothering me... It was her beautiful younger sister.
My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.
One day her 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister. Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word.
She said, 'I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.'
I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.
Lord... and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, 'We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.'
And the moral of this story is: Always keep your condoms in your car
