We're targeting discrimination in football. Can you help?
We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in football. We’re calling on clubs and leagues like your own to report hate, prejudice or discrimination whenever you see it or hear it.
For those people who behave in a racist, sexist or homophobic way, the message is clear. Enough is Enough.
When we know it has happened, we can take the actions needed to remove discriminatory behaviour. We'll be doing so through a range of punishments:
• Players will be removed from play and suspended.
• Teams can have points deducted.
• Grounds can be closed for repeat offenders.
Together we can end hate in football.
Spread the word that discrimination of all forms will be punished. Share with your welfare officers, league and club officials, and everyone across your league and clubs.
We want everyone across grassroots football to know... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. TELL US, WE’LL TACKLE IT.

AFC Dunstable Club History
AFC Dunstable started life as Old Dunstablians Football Club in 1981. The name Old Dunstablians originated from an organisation formed in 1888 for old boys from Dunstable Grammar School. The most famous member of the club is Hollywood actor Gary Cooper, who attended the school in the early 1900’s. When the Grammar School closed and Manshead School opened they took over the mantle, but the old boys club was in decline. In 1981 the head teacher was asked if he could re-launch the name, hence the football club was born. By 1988 after its centenary, the Old Dunstablians Club ceased to exist, but the football club carried on in commemoration and to this day still bears the club crest on its badge.
The club started in the Dunstable Alliance Football League for a couple of seasons then moved onto the Luton District and South Bedfordshire League in 1983. Still playing at Manshead School with the 1st team and reserves, success was limited with the 1st team runners up twice in Division One and runners up in the William Pease Cup. While in the Luton League though the 1st team did land the Bedfordshire Junior Cup beating Leighton Athletic on penalties in 1989/90 season. With the club using Dunstable Town Cricket Club as their social base in Bull Pond Lane, the cricket club was looking to move to a larger site in Totternhoe and when the new club was opened in 1994, a football pitch was accommodated, so the football club moved there from Manshead School. An improvement in facilities gave the club a chance to apply to join the South Midlands League in 1995.
Accepted into Division One the club struggled, as they flirted with being relegated straight back to the Luton League in the first 2 seasons. Going through new managers every season, they finally started to gain some consolidation and in season 2001/02 the team finished 4th in the league and won the Division One Cup. The following season they just missed out of the title, which was now named Division Two. They finally clinched the title the
next season and were runners up in the Division Two Cup. Ground Grading issues were starting to stop the team progressing as 2 ground sharing agreements were turned down by the league. This was now the start of a trophy laden period, as the Division Two title again was secured and backto-back Bedfordshire Senior Trophy’s. Added to that, the Division Two Cup was won again. In 2003/04 the club decided to launch its youth policy and when the Under 15’s were runners up in the Chiltern Youth League, it started on the path to work its way through the FA Charter Standard.
They achieved Adult status in 2003/04. The club then made the decision to change its name to AFC Dunstable so not to get confused with the local rugby club, as the club started to grow and the name was more associated to a football club. The club kept the name The OD’s, as their nickname. The youth setup was awarded the Charter Standard in 2005/06. The next big step was to become a Development Club and a great deal of work saw the club achieve this in 2007. Next up was a goal to become a FA Charter Standard Community Club and 2008 saw the club achieve this. In that time the club has been awarded the Development Club Of The Year in 2008 and the Community Club Of The Year in 2009. The Bedfordshire Football Association approached the club to become partners in the new Creasey Park Community Football Centre in 2008 and this gave them the chance to move the 1st team to Creasey Park and apply for promotion to Division One for the start of the 2009/10 season, which was accepted.
The team finished a very creditable 5th in its first season at the higher level. History was made in the 2010/11 season, as the team was accepted to participate in the FA Vase. A fine run through to the 2nd Round Proper was achieved. Looking to improve on the league position the previous season, the team went all out for promotion and finished runners up in the league and gained promotion to the Premier Division at their 2nd attempt, also winning the SSMFL Division One Cup. Now with the team in the SSMFL Premier Division and entered in the FA Cup for the 2011/12 season, they
finished 3rd in the league. In the 2012/13 season the team consolidated in the Premier Division and finished a respectable 8th. Their run in the FA Cup saw them get through 3 rounds eventually going out to Northwood after a replay. The team were being managed by the most successful pair in the club’s history; Alex Butler and Dermot Butler, but they decided to step down after 9 years at the helm halfway through 2013/14 season.
This left the team in disarray, which saw many stalwarts of the team leave. The club decided to appoint current manager Steve Heath and the club went on a rebuilding exercise. 2014/15 saw the team secure 3rd place in the SSMFL Premier Division as they challenged for the title all season. They also equalled their best run in the FA Vase getting to the 3rd Round proper. 2015/16 was the season that the team broke all club records. Before clinching the SSMFL Premier Division title, they progressed through 2 rounds of the FA Cup before finally going out to Ryman Premier leaders at the time Leiston 1-0 in the 1st Qualifying Round. The FA Vase was a great ride as the team made it to the 4th Round proper. Unfortunately, they drew phoenix club Salisbury who had competed in the Conference Premier only two seasons previous. The league campaign was a great ride. As the season reached October, only 5 points separated the top 6. By Christmas it looked like London Colney were starting to break away, going 5 points clear. The chasing pack were bunching up behind as only 6 points was the difference between 2nd and 7th.
When the team lost to a last-minute penalty to Biggleswade United on January 2nd, they went 8 points behind London Colney and it looked like the title ambitions had faded. That would be the last time AFC lost in the league. With 7 games left, the team went top of the league and eventually won the league by 13 points against Hartley Wintney ended the season. The 2016/17 season saw them compete in the Southern League Central Division. They competed nearly all season in a playoff place but just missed out by 3 points. The team though did pick up some silverware winning the
prestigious Bedfordshire Senior Cup 2-0 against Dunstable Town at Kenilworth Road.
At the beginning of this season, the Bedfordshire Premier Cup was also won. After only their 2nd season at step 4, 2017/18 saw them top the table at the start of the season. They occupied a play-off place all season, which in the end saw them finish 5th. A 2-0 loss in North Hampshire. 2018/19 season was probably the most challenging as they stuttered at the start of the season. At Christmas they were flirting with relegation but turned the corner and went on a decent run that saw them looking at an outside chance of a play-off spot, but they fell away and finished 10th. Following the disrupted 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons the 2021/22 season proved to be another record-breaking one for the OD’s.
Progressing the furthest they ever had in the FA Cup; AFC were knockedout at home by step 3 Peterborough Sports in the 3rd qualifying round. The cup run was accompanied by an excellent performance in the league. Finishing 3rd in the table, the OD’s hosted Ware FC in the play-off semi-final but lost on penalties after the match had finished goalless.
The 2022/23 season proved to be the end of an era on and off the pitch. The team started well and were in and around the play-off spots until Christmas. A disastrous opening five minutes against would be champions Berkhamsted saw the team 2-0 down in a performance that turned the season on its head. The team found form hard to come by and a number of injuries led to a 13th place finish. Chairman Simon Bullard announced in February that we was to step down from his role and Steve Heath announced weeks later that he was to leave at the end of the season.
New custodians for the club were chosen in the shape of Varsity Nine, a sports management company that specialises in delivering services for high performing players and studentathletes. Varsity Nine was founded by the
management team behind Milton Keynes based Soccer Assist, renowned for its soccer scholarship services service and privately run football Academy. Varsity Nine appointed new managers, with Joe Oxley and James Townsend taking on the men’s first team lead at the end of the season.

Leverstock Green 3 VS Barton Rovers 4
Leverstock Green’s run in the Isuzu FA Trophy ended as they came out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller in Saturday’s Second Round Qualifying tie against Barton Rovers.
Leverstock got off to a great start as they took the lead in the 5th minute. Callum Neal delivered a cross from the right touchline and Guiseppe Delgaudio got up to head the ball past visiting keeper Tyler Josephs.
There could have been further goals later in the half. In the 18th minute Eyotuoyo Akinbulumo got on the end of a corner from Jamie Breen, but didn’t get enough on his header to divert it inside the post. Three minutes later another Breen corner reached Josh Dooley at the far post but his header went back across goal and wide. Alfie Bonfield saved shots from John Shamalo and Taylor Rhiney, and as the game went into first half stoppage time Leverstock still held the lead. However, a free kick was given away in a dangerous position, and Rhiney curled a superb shot over the wall and out of the reach of Bonfield to level the scores at the break.
Within a minute of the second half starting Leverstock were back in front. Luke Beckwith flicked the ball through to Delgaudio, and he sent a lob over Josephs for a 2-1 lead. The lead was almost increased in the 50th minute as a free kick from Beckwith could only be parried away by Josephs, but a defender got to the loose ball first to clear.
However, again Leverstock couldn’t hold onto their lead. In the 54th minute Ryan Neufville played a one-two which took him into the Leverstock box, where we was felled by a challenge from
Akinbulumo. The referee awarded the penalty, and Rhiney netted the spot kick for his second of the game.
In the 61st minute Barton took the lead for the first time as Alfie Warman hit a volley from the edge of the box that went through a crowd of players past Bonfield. Five minutes later the scores were level again as Rio Beach got to the bye-line and put in a low cross which was finished from close range by Neal for a 3-3 scoreline.
But little over a minute later Barton were back in front again as Rhiney got in behind the Leverstock defence with a superb first time dipping shot over Bonfield to make it 4-3 to Barton and complete his hat-trick.
Leverstock pushed for another equaliser but were unable to find one, and Barton held on to progress to the next round.

Alan Lee Reporting Northwood 2 VS Leverstock Green 2
Leverstock Green are still looking for their first win in the Southern League, but they added another point to their tally after twice coming from behind against Northwood. The home side were without a point or a manager at the start of play, and Leverstock had the better of the game but once again were left to rue missed chances.
Northwood made a strong start to the game and put the Green side under some pressure, but it was Leverstock who had the game’s first chance. A pass from Rio Beach put Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica through on goal, but his shot was saved by home keeper Ryan Hopping. The loose ball was gathered by Ethan Mooney, who put it back across goal but Stefanoaica couldn’t apply the decisive touch to put it away. In the 21st minute Stefanoaica was through again, but opted to square to Mooney, who had a good shooting chance but skied it over the bar.
At the other end in the 27th minute Alfie Bonfield made a good save to keep out Godlove Oppong’s shot from a narrow angle. There was another chance for Leverstock in the 35th minute when Beach set up Guiseppe Delgaudio with a shooting chance but he hit it straight at Hopping, and the game went into half time still goalless.
Leverstock had another good chance in the 57th minute when Stefanoaica broke down the right and squared to find Delgaudio in front of goal, but his shot was blocked. This time Leverstock were made to pay for their missed chances as Northwood went straight down the other end, and a cross from the left found Gabi Ipanga-Mbambo to shoot home from close range.
Leverstock were only behind for four minutes. In the 62nd minute Ethan Mooney delivered a superb cross from near the right corner flag, and Delgaudio headed home to level the scores at 1-1. But six minutes later disaster struck again. Leverstock had a free kick in the opposition half, but it was easily headed away and Northwood broke quickly. Ipanga-Mbambo carried the ball from inside his own half, and despite several challenges was
not stopped, running on to slot past Bonfield at put his side back in front at 2-1.
Leverstock kept pushing forward and were eventually rewarded with a second equaliser that was very similar to the first in the 83rd minute. This time it was Stefanoaica delivering the cross from the right for Delgaudio to head home again for a 2-2 scoreline.
The game should have been won two minutes later as Delgaudio shielded the ball in the opposition box before laying off to set up a chance for substitute Lewis Collins, who hit his shot well enough but Hopping managed to get something on the ball to divert it wide. Despite continuing to push forward over the closing minutes Leverstock couldn’t find another goal and had to settle for their second point of the season.
Northwood (0) 2 (Ipanga-Mbambo 58, 68)
1. Ryan Hopping, 2. Harry McKenna, 3. Jack Young, 4. Jack Smith, 5. Jeremy Stewart, 6. Jack Empson, 7. Prince Mbengui (16. Michael Kelly 90+2 mins), 8. Yahaya Kamara, 9. Ade Gbolahan, 10. Godlove Oppong (14. Archie James 76 mins), 11. Gabi Ipanga-Mbambo (12. Kojo Gyimah 90+2 mins). Subs not used: 15. Denislav Konstantinov, 17. Henry Atkinson.
Leverstock Green (0) 2 (Delgaudio 62, 83)
1. Alfie Bonfield, 2. Cem Poyraz (16. Josh Dooley 78 mins), 3. Jamie Breen (14. Lewis Collins 59 mins), 4. Gary Connolly, 18. Eyituoyo Akinbulumo, 6. Ryan Carruthers, 7. Ethan Mooney, 8. Rio Beach, 9. Guiseppe Delgaudio, 10. Nat Connolly (12. Luke Beckwith 69 mins), 11. Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica. Subs not used: 15. Curtis Dibley, 17. Dan Weeks.
Alan Lee Reporting Northleigh 3 VS Leverstock Green 2
Leverstock Green looked to be on course for their first win in the Southern League when they opened up a two goal lead for the first time this season with 15 minutes left against North Leigh. However, once the home side pulled a goal back it all unravelled quickly for Leverstock and instead it was North Leigh who were celebrating their first league win at the end.
The game started well for Leverstock, who were attacking up the considerable slope at Eynsham Park in the first half. With just over five minutes played Ryan Carruthers swung over a corner, and Callum Neal came in to meet it with a fierce volley to put his side 1-0 up.
Leverstock had chances for further goals. In the 9th minute Luke Beckwith combined with Rio Beach to set up a shot but it was saved by home keeper Monty Marriott. Guiseppe Delgaudio hit a good shot in the 33rd minute but Marriott pulled off a great save, and again five minutes later from RaduMihai Stefanoaica. In the closing minutes of the half North Leigh started to put some pressure on. On 41 minutes Kyle Chester just failed to connect with a ball across the face of goal, and three minutes later Alfie Bonfield pulled off a superb save to keep out a close-range shot from Calvin Njoroge.
Delgaudio had picked up a knock early in the game, and having tried but failed to run it off during the remainder of the half, had to be substituted in first half stoppage time. That reduced Leverstock’s attacking options for the second half, and with some others also playing with niggling injuries, the second half proved to be a struggle for the Green side as North Leigh were doing all the attacking. Despite facing almost constant pressure for 30 minutes, Leverstock were still hanging onto their lead, and with 15 minutes to go that lead was doubled. A brief period of pressure resulted in a Leverstock corner, and when the ball was not cleared, Ethan Mooney pounced from six yards out to shoot Leverstock into a 2-0 lead.
Perhaps the two-goal cushion caused the Leverstock side to take their foot off the gas a little, but the game went away from them very quickly. Two
minutes later North Leigh were attacking again, and although Bonfield pulled off a great save to keep out a shot from Mekhi Thomas, Njoroge followed up to net the rebound and put his side back in the game. Leverstock were starting to look rattled now, and in the 81st minute a rash challenge in the box resulted in a penalty for the home side. Chester stepped up to take the spot kick and level the scores at 2-2.
North Leigh had all the momentum now, and in the 84th minute as Bonfield came out of his goal to thwart an attack, the ball was chipped over him and Harlee Vozza nodded home into the empty net to complete the turnaround. There was no coming back from a shellshocked Leverstock side, and the search for their first league win goes on.

A few words about KitAid
KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he was wearing one of his favourite football shirts (he follows Watford, Liverpool and Chesham Utd).
After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart, and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty-one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 900,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.
How to donate
If you’d like to support the KitAid cause, the easiest way to donate your unwanted football kit, in order for us to find it a new home.
Alternatively, if you don’t have any unwanted kit, but would still like to support us, we’re very grateful for any donations which will help to fund our annual costs as well as support other partnership charities where possible.
We thank you for all your support.
In working in some of the most under-privileged countries around the world, The Football Association is no stranger to seeing the impact the donation of something as simple as a shirt or a pair of shorts can make. KitAid has brought an enormous amount of pleasure and enjoyment to young and old alike through the gift of football kit and has shared the spirit of British clubs and the England team with communities in all corners of the globe. We are proud to be associated with KitAid and wish them all the best in their endeavours for the years to come.

IT’S FA Cup weekend and for the 64 teams contesting the third qualifying round this afternoon, that feeling of ‘what if’ is already firmly locked at the back of the minds of many.
‘What if’ we win one more game and get a winnable tie in the fourth qualifying?
‘What it’ we then pull out a Birmingham City or a Bolton Wanderers when the EFL clubs from Leagues One and Two enter in the first round, and ‘what if’ we get the TV cameras down for a nice big payday to boot?
Not that’ll you’ll catch managers admitting to harbouring such thoughts at this stage, but for chairmen and women, the boards of directors and, of
course, the fans, it’s very much allowed. In fact, it’s insisted upon.
Each and every year a Non-League club get their place in the spotlight, it seems. A fairytale story decided upon by the FA Cup gods alone, irrespective of league position or previous history. You only need cast your minds back 12 months for an example of what can achieved. The FA Cup first round threw up a dream tie for Step 4 side Cray Valley PM, whose reward for a fourth qualifying round victory over Enfield Town was a first-round clash at neighbouring big guns Charlton Athletic.
Incredibly, a Lucas Ness own goal earned the Millers a lucrative replay in front of the TV cameras at the humble Badgers Sports Ground where the Addicks eventually won through. Since then, however, Cray Valley have won promotion to Step 3 for the first time in their history and star striker Kyrell Lisbie earned a move to the National League with Braintree Town.
The same thing happened to Isthmian Premier side Horsham, who earned a first-round tie at former Premier League side Barnsley at Oakwell, brought forward to the Friday night.
The Hornets produced the performance of a lifetime to hold the Tykes to a 3-3 draw to force a home replay, where they eventually lost 3-0. But they were soon reinstated after it was discovered Barnsley had fielded an ineligible player, only to go down 3-0 to League Two Sutton United in the next round.
Perhaps under the radar was Aldershot Town’s trip to Swindon Town – but it was a tie that was to go down in the history books.
Incredibly, Tommy Widdrington’s National League Shots went 3-0 up against their League Two hosts inside just nine minutes and led 7-0 by the 58th minute before the Robins brought it back to 7-4.
It was the first time in history that a Non-League club had put seven goals past an EFL club in the FA Cup, while Widdrington’s men went onto beat League Two
leaders Stockport County away from home and earn a third-round to at Championship side West Brom.
Sheppey United also earned a taste of the big time when hosting Walsall for a first ever foray to the ‘proper’ stages (as The FA so condescendingly call it).
Two years ago, Bracknell Town were the Non-League cup heroes, drawing out an Ipswich Town side on an upward spiral under new boss Kieran McKenna.
A capacity 2,000 crowd and the ITV cameras greeted them at their shared Bottom Meadow stadium where the Step 3 Robins gave the Tractor Boys a rather uncomfortable evening at times before succumbing to a 3-0 defeat.
McKenna and a large number of those Ipswich players are now keeping Premier League company these days so, for Bracknell, it was a night the club will never forget.
Elsewhere in the first round, we saw 1-0 victories for Chippenham Town, at home to League One Lincoln City, and King’s Lynn Town, who stunned Doncaster
Rovers on the road thanks to Gold Omotayo’s winner seven minutes from time.
Torquay United, too, came back from two goals down to force a replay at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium, while Farnborough enjoyed their best FA Cup run for 21 years - since that unforgettable 2003 campaign which ended with a fourth-round defeat at Arsenal –beat humbling League Two Sutton on the road.
Sadly, this year, the dynamic has been altered somewhat with the scrapping of FA Cup replays from the first round onwards.
Naturally, the decision has gone down like a lead balloon with clubs outside of the top-flight with the chances of earning a televised home replay or moneyspinning away day now kicked into touch.
But with drawn ties now going straight to the lottery of penalties, a famous giant-killing is still as opportune as ever. It’s in the lap of the FA Cup gods.

Alan Lee Reporting Leverstock Green (U18) 1 Vs Beaconsfield
Town 5
Leverstock Green’s Under-18s exited the FA Youth Cup at the Preliminary Round stage. They put up a good performance against a strong Beaconsfield academy side, and were in the game until being reduced to ten men during the second half.
After an even opening to the game, Beaconsfield took the lead in the 22nd minute with a finish from close range. However, the Green side levelled the game in the 35th minute. A through ball gave George Eldridge a run at goal and the striker finished superbly with a shot from just inside the box. There was an even better finish in first half stoppage time as Biscat Yilma broke away and scored with a superb chipped shot over Leverstock keeper Max Pepper to put Beaconsfield back in front at 2-1.
Leverstock had the chance of an equaliser early in the second half when Sonny Latham-Gough was through and took the ball past the keeper, but couldn’t get his shot on target. At the other end Pepper saved well to turn a free kickm from Liam Jenkins round the post in the 57th minute.
The key moment in the game came in the 68th minute when Leverstock were reduced to ten men. Ryan Barry was shown a straight red for pulling down a Beaconsfield forward who was through on goal. The result was a free kick just outside the box, and this time Jenkins fired a shot past Pepper to put Beaconsfield 3-1 up. The tie was now beyond the Leverstock side, and Beaconsfield added further goals in the 73rd and 81st minutes.
