We're targeting discrimination in football. Can you help?
We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in football. We’re calling on clubs and leagues like your own to report hate, prejudice or discrimination whenever you see it or hear it.
For those people who behave in a racist, sexist or homophobic way, the message is clear. Enough is Enough.
When we know it has happened, we can take the actions needed to remove discriminatory behaviour. We'll be doing so through a range of punishments:
• Players will be removed from play and suspended.
• Teams can have points deducted.
• Grounds can be closed for repeat offenders.
Together we can end hate in football.
Spread the word that discrimination of all forms will be punished. Share with your welfare officers, league and club officials, and everyone across your league and clubs.
We want everyone across grassroots football to know... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. TELL US, WE’LL TACKLE IT.

Alan Lee Reporting Baldock Town 1 Vs Leverstock Green 3
Leverstock Green FC progressed safely through to the Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Baldock Town in Saturday’s Extra Preliminary Round tie. Baldock are familiar opposition from last season’s SSML Premier Division, and they caused the Green side a few problems in this tie, but Leverstock fought back from going behind to take the win.
Alfie Bonfield was back in the Leverstock goal after two seasons away, and his goal faced some early threat from a young Baldock side with a couple of speedy forwards. The first couple of attacks were thwarted, but in the 18th minute Josh Cross was allowed to run clean through to slot past Bonfield and put Baldock into a shock lead.
Leverstock Green FC were only behind for two minutes though. Luke Beckwith received a throw-in in the middle of the opposition half, and after pushing forward played a ball out to Callum Neal, whose shot from the edge of the box looked to have been cleared off the line by a defender, but the assistant referee flagged to indicate that the ball had crossed the line for the equaliser.
In the 25th minute Neal was causing problems in the Baldock half again, and laid a pass off to Rio Beach, who hit a tremendous low shot from the edge of the box into the corner of the net to put Leverstock into a 2-1 lead.
Leverstock Green FC still held their 2-1 lead at the end of a fairly even half, but early in the second half they pushed on. In the opening minute of the half Beckwith went on a mazy run into the box, but his shot was saved by former Leverstock keeper Tautvydas Poniskaitis. Three minutes later Beckwith had an even better chance when a pass from Ethan Mooney put him through on goal, but his shot was wildly over the bar. However, in the 57th minute Beckwith found the net in spectacular style, as his looping cross-cumshot from outside the left edge of the penalty area flew over the outstretched arm of Poniskaitis for a 31 Leverstock lead.
Substitute Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica could have added a fourth in the 64 minute when he was clean through, but Poniskaitis did well to turn his shot wide. The keeper also kept out a late effort from Curtis Dibley with his legs as Leverstock were denied any further goals, but their lead did not come under threat.
Leverstock’s reward is a home tie against Isthmian League North side Heybridge Swifts, who are managed by West Ham United legend Julian Dicks, in two weeks time. The result is also a confidence booster going into their historic first ever Southern League match next Saturday at home to Welwyn Garden City.

Alan Lee Reporting
Leverstock Green 0 VS Hadley 3
Leverstock Green played their first competitive match as a Step 4 club as they faced Hadley in the first round of the Herts Charity Cup, and it was a harsh lesson in what football at this level will be like. Hadley will be one of Leverstock’s opponents in the Southern League Division One Central, and they were two goals up before the Green side had even begun to find their feet.
Right from the kick-off Leverstock lost the ball and were instantly punished as Billy Hayes played Isaac Stones in to put Hadley into the lead with just 15 seconds on the clock. The lead was doubled in the 5th minute as Leverstock gave the ball away in the opposition half and were quickly hit by a counter-attack. Finlay Aldridge broke down the left and delivered a cross which found Stones all alone in front of goal to shoot home the second goal.
Leverstock were unlucky not to pull a goal back in the 11th minute as a hooked shot from Alie Bangura hit the post, and for a while it looked as though they were settling into the game. However, in the 36th minute another sloppy piece of play at the back was ruthlessly punished as the ball was played forward to Stones, who took on and beat a player on the edge of the box before shooting home to complete his hat-trick in impressive style.
Hadley made two changes at half time, with Stones leaving the game, but it was only a good save from Leverstock keeper Alex Desmond that prevented them adding a fourth early in the second half. However, the second half was an improvement from the Leverstock side, who seemed to have taken some lessons on board in moving the ball around quicker, and did not concede any further goals. Nat Connolly hit a good effort from distance over the bar, and Jayden Newman went close from a corner in the final minutes, but the Green side were unable to pull a goal back.
It’s still relatively early in pre-season, and Leverstock had a number of key players missing this evening, so there is no cause for alarm and there were positives to take from the second half display.

Alan Lee Reporting Leverstock Green 1 VS Welwyn Garden City 3
Leverstock Green FC kicked off their first ever match at Step Four, and they made a good start as they took an early lead, but visitors Welwyn Garden City came back to take all three points despite being reduced to ten men before half time.
The visitors had the game’s first chance in the 12th minute from a corner, but Aiden Read’s header was headed off the line by Nat Connolly. Welwyn went close again in the 16th minute when a shot from Bailey Stevenson brought a good save from Alfie Bonfield. However, it was Leverstock who took the lead a minute later against the run of play. Leverstock broke away with Rawn Seale having a run at goal, and although Seale’s run was stopped by a defender, Ademide Baruwa won the ball back and beat a defender before slotting the ball neatly past keeper Donnabhan Green.
In the 29th minute Stevenson was denied again as his volley brought another great save from Bonfield. Six minutes later Leverstock were threatening again on the break as a pass from Luke Beckwith put Stefanoaica through on goal, but he couldn’t quite get full contact on his shot and it was gathered by Green. Five minutes before half time the visitors levelled the game as a free kick from Lewis Croucher found former Leverstock player Brad Wadkins at the far post, and Wadkins’ header was out of Bonfield’s reach and went in just inside the post.
There was drama in the last minute of the half as a loose ball from Ryan Kirwan put Rawn Seale through on goal, only to be stopped by a foul challenge from behind by Aiden Read. With Read being the last man, it was an easy decision for the referee to show Read a straight red card, and the visitors were reduced to ten men.
Leverstock Green FC were unable to take advantage of the extra man in the second half though, as is often the case the visitors seemed to play better with ten men. Stevenson should have put his side in front in the 47th minute, but shot over the bar from close range. Two minutes later a free kick from Dan Pett found the head of Callum Neal, but the header was just off-target.
The game could have gone either way at this point, but a crucial second goal for Welwyn in the 58th minute put them in control. Stevenson hit a thunderous shot from the edge of the box that gave Bonfield no chance for a 2-1 lead.
Beckwith twice went close to getting his side back in the game, firstly in the 63rd minute when his deflected shot was saved by Green, and again two minutes later when Seale set him up with a chance, but his shot was straight at Green. Substitute Guiseppe Delgaudio was through on goal in the 70th minute, but again his shot didn’t really test Green.
Wadkins came close to adding a third goal for Welwyn in the 78th minute, but his shot went just wide. The third goal eventually came in the 87th minute, and it was another shot from the edge of the box by Stevenson which took a deflection and looped up over Bonfield.
Despite putting some pressure on the visitors’ goal over the closing minutes, Leverstock Green FC were unable to get back into the game, with Pett coming closest deep into stoppage time with a shot that skimmed the side netting.

A few words about KitAid
KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he was wearing one of his favourite football shirts (he follows Watford, Liverpool and Chesham Utd).
After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart, and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty-one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 900,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.
How to donate
If you’d like to support the KitAid cause, the easiest way to donate your unwanted football kit, in order for us to find it a new home.
Alternatively, if you don’t have any unwanted kit, but would still like to support us, we’re very grateful for any donations which will help to fund our annual costs as well as support other partnership charities where possible.
We thank you for all your support.
In working in some of the most under-privileged countries around the world, The Football Association is no stranger to seeing the impact the donation of something as simple as a shirt or a pair of shorts can make. KitAid has brought an enormous amount of pleasure and enjoyment to young and old alike through the gift of football kit and has shared the spirit of British clubs and the England team with communities in all corners of the globe. We are proud to be associated with KitAid and wish them all the best in their endeavours for the years to come. Jane Bateman, Head of International Relations, The Football Association

By Jon Couch
Jonathan ‘JJ’ Lacey enjoyed a day to remember at Wembley Stadium back in May. The Biggleswade Town midfielder and his family were handed the VIP treatment at the Home of Football as a special guest of The FA at the FA Cup Final.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was JJ’s reward for ranking as the highest scorer in the competition, from the Extra Preliminary Round to the Final, after his 10 goals helped the Southern League Premier Central Waders won through six rounds before being knocked out by Solihull Moors in the fourth qualifying round.
Only Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland could have possibly toppled Lacey’s goal haul ahead of his team's 2-1 loss to Manchester United - but would have needed to have scored six goals.
Lacey’s day included carrying out the match ball prior to kick-off and being presented with the Golden Ball Award by former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin.
"It's once-in-a-lifetime stuff, to be able to walk the match ball out before kick-off, and to be presented this award, it's amazing for me and my family," he said. “It’s surreal to be the top scorer in the Emirates FA Cup, and invite my family to enjoy the Final at Wembley Stadium and see me receive the trophy.
“We wondered if it all might be too good to be true, so when it became official after the final whistle we were relieved, and now I’m really proud to take home the Golden Ball Award.” Lacey, 25, was pushed all the way by Ramsgate striker Joe Taylor, who notched nine goals for the Rams in a remarkable season tally of 53 for the Isthmian South East side. And he said he was only unaware of the award in September, when he scored a hat-trick in an away tie with then Step 2 side Bishop's Stortford
The FA’s Director of Pro Game Relations, Andy Ambler, added: “JJ Lacey is an excellent example of this competition giving players and clubs across the English pyramid the chance to test themselves against the very elite.
“His goal-scoring exploits from attacking midfield were outstanding, and we are delighted that his family could attend today’s Final and see him collect the Golden Ball Award.”
This year, a record high 221 fixtures took place in the FA Cup extra preliminary round – and the competition kicked off in celebratory fashion after a new record was set for the earliest date and time that a goal has been scored in FA Cup history. It came on Friday August 2nd, at 7.54pm, when Jack Hobson-McVeigh netted for hosts Royal Wootton Bassett Town in their 2-1 extra preliminary round tie against Mangotsfield United. At precisely the same time, Louie Duffield scored for Great Yarmouth Town who knocked out visitors Kirkley & Pakefield 2-0.
Both players now jointly hold that prestigious accolade.
The red-carpet treatment enjoyed by Lacey, the former Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Town player, will undoubtedly inspire goal-getters to shine in these early rounds.
The 2024-25 season may only be a fortnight old but this afternoon the FA Cup reaches its preliminary rounds with the winners already setting their sights on launching a glory run.
One man who has already made a mark is Tilbury’s Sam Bantick, who completed a memorable hat-trick in the Dockers’ 4-1 extra preliminary round win over Buckhurst Hill with a wondergoal from inside in own half!
The Isthmian North returnees face Stanway Rovers in their preliminary round clash this afternoon and Bantick, among others, will be keen to make their mark once again.
Traditionally, the term ‘magic of the FA Cup’ is usually saved for the first round proper onwards as Non-League sides lock horns with the elite.
But try telling that to the thousands of hopefuls wearing their hearts on the sleeves this afternoon, dreaming for their moment in the spotlight.
