2025 GPS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

FRIDAY, 7 MARCH 2025

YEAR 12 SPECTATORS

1. Boys in Year 12 are required to spectate at the 2025 GPS Swimming Championships on Friday, 7 March

2. Dress: Blazer dress for Spectators

• Blazers are not to be worn to the event, please leave in locker.

• Shirt sleeves must not be rolled up at any time.

• No school Akubras are to be taken, leave in locker.

3. Timings

• Period 1: as per normal timetable

• 9:25am: Spectator tunnel (TGS Promenade) and GPS Swim Team departure

• Period 2: as per normal timetable

• 10:25am: Move to bus shelter for roll call and departure

• 10:45am: Spectator Bus departs TGS

• 1:00pm: First event

• 3:41pm: Last event

• 4:00pm: Depart Brisbane

• 6:00pm: Arrive at TGS

4. Tickets: All student spectators will be given admission wristbands from Bus Masters. These must be worn to enter the centre.

5. Seating: TGS student spectators will be seated in Section 5 on the Westerna Grandstand. Please refer to Venue Map on page 2 for seating allocations.

• The Spirit Squad will look after the TGS banner and loud hailers, including packing them up and returning them to school.

6. Meals:

• All spectators, dayboys and boarders, will receive a packed lunch to eat at Brisbane Aquatic Centre on arrival. Dayboys, please bring morning tea.

• Boarders will have a pizza dinner when they return to TGS.

• Boys are welcome to bring additional snacks

• All TGS student spectators should take a water bottle.

• No canteen will be available.

7. Important Notes:

• Complete silence is to be maintained between the whistle and the start of the races.

• Boys must remain seated at the end of the carnival until adult spectators have left. Please leave our allocated area of the complex free of paper and rubbish.

• No spectators are allowed on pool deck. Pool deck access is restricted to swimmers in a particular event, Swimming Queensland officials, volunteer officials/staff and security personnel

• Mechanical aids to barracking/laser pointers are not permitted. Wearing of face paint not permitted.

• FOR SAFETY REASONS, NO SITTING ON STAIRS OR LEANING OVER RAILS. NO STAMPING ON THE FLOOR OF THE STAND OR ON THE SEATS. NO STANDING ON SEATS OR RUNNING AROUND THE GRANDSTAND.
