Patricia “Tish” Morris, Esq. Candidate for Circuit Court Judge Attorney at Winton & Hiestand Law Group, PLLC

502-882-3133 • TMM@LouisvilleLawO ce.com

“After undergrad school at U of L, I went into sales and even worked as a flight attendant as I saved money to put toward attending law school,” says Patricia “Tish” Morris, a lifelong Louisville native and Sacred Heart graduate who has served as a lawyer and worked in litigation for over two decades. In that time, she’s built the experience, knowledge, and wisdom to best use the responsibility and trust that will be invested in her as a Circuit Court Judge. “We are molded to be the people we are, but a Judge must come in with an open mindset and adhere to the law.”

Tish is ready to begin making solid rulings from the bench just as soon as she is sworn in. “I don’t take lightly the effect that I will have on people’s lives,” she says. “I grew up in the legal system. I understand it, I’m comfortable with it, and the courtroom is already like a second home.”

Tish has practiced in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, family, wills and estates, and business law. She has a strong desire for fairness and equality despite anyone’s race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic position, or gender. “I believe in the Oath of Impartiality,” she says. “I will abide by the laws outlined by the esteemed lawmakers and add in the element of kindness, fairness, and hope to all of those who might come before me.”

A well-regarded figure of integrity and empathy, Judge Geoffrey Morris, Tish’s father, was a revered and stalwart icon of the Justice System here in Louisville for many years. Today, Tish seeks to carry on her father’s legacy. “My father built his reputation on the idea that everyone should have access to the courtroom; that it should be available and accessible to all,” she says. “I want to make a similar impression and create an open door policy. When I’m elected to serve, I believe my absolute obligation will be to work in service to the community and make the legal system less intimidating.”

IncipioWorks.com • Molley@IncipioWorks.com

At Incipio Workforce Solutions, Molley Ricketts leads a team of partners who believe in a holistic approach to workforce alignment, applicant recruiting, employer branding, and HR services. “You have your own passion and gifts; all you need is the confidence in yourself to go do your thing,” she says. “To truly succeed, you have to be surrounded by people who encourage you and have strengths in the skills that you may lack. That’s what we do for our clients, and that’s how we fix hiring and retention related problems instead of just putting bandaids on them.”

Incipio is all about creating a work culture that encourages everyone within it to feel fulfilled and thrive based on the simple idea that individual people do their best work when they feel recognized and appreciated. Not just another consultant, Molley has dedicated herself to an iconoclastic approach that gets real results. “When you are held back by age-old processes, bogged down by outdated policies, and encumbered by office politics, nothing gets done,” Molley says. “We’re here to help you break through the barriers and discover a fresh, unbiased perspective. If you find yourself saying, ‘well, that’s how we’ve always done it,” it’s probably time to change something. To be honest, we say no more than we say yes. You have to be ready to make a change for us to work well for you; otherwise, it’s a waste of money and time. We love what we do, and if you’re ready to make big changes in your hiring process, employer branding, or retention of top talent, we’re ready to get started.”

Diana Quesada

SVP and Market Executive, Paducah Bank, Louisville Office

502-690-8971 • dquesada@paducahbank.com paducahbank.com

Working in a primarily male-dominated industry, Diana Quesada has learned how to set herself apart. “Women must be creative, fundamentally sound in their craft and elevate themselves to think strategically to win opportunities,” she says. Working with companies of all sizes and different industries, she’s built an extensive network and can connect clients to someone who can solve any problem. A true problem solver and connector, she believes in listening to customers and their concerns, creating the advantage to uncover issues and learn the needs of those she serves.

Her words of advice: “Find a mentor, be a mentor,” she says. “Mentorships are important. Both partners benefit, professionally and personally, from a mentoring relationship, and the rewards are profound. These relationships motivate, encourage, expand viewpoints, and inspire new approaches to situations. Mentoring gave me confidence to know I add value and helped me advance in my career.”

“Make a difference and volunteer,” she adds. “Community service is an important part of my life. I believe it is our responsibility to serve those in need and help make our community a better place for all of us. Volunteering grounds me, broadens my perspective, and has given me lifelong friendships.”

WOMEN IN BUSINESS Power + Pumps Ashley Sayler Owner, Cask Southern Kitchen & Bar

ashley.sayler@cask-louisville.com

Susan Sarandon. Paula Deen. Lisa Vanderpump. Ashley Sayler. The common denominator? All successful woman restaurant owners, all powerhouses in the world of business, and all mothers.

Each of these women is beating the odds in the male-dominated restaurant industry by operating successful businesses while staying involved in their family’s lives. Maybe none as much as local Louisville business owner Ashley Sayler of Cask Southern Kitchen and Bar.

Sayler opened Cask in the heart of the pandemic when all odds were against her succeeding. However, Cask wasn’t Sayler’s first business endeavor. She opened her first concept in November 2019. When the pandemic hit, she had to pivot quickly to stay afloat. Within a month and a half, Sayler bought out her business partner, redesigned the interior, built a patio, rebranded her entire restaurant to meet market needs, had her son in the mix, and opened as Cask in July 2020.

The idea was to create a place for people of all ages to “come as you are”. Whether it be a family night, date night, ladies’ night, you name it – Cask was designed for everyone to be able to walk through the doors and enjoy from-scratch southern cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere with outstanding hospitality. Not to mention, they offer delicious handcrafted cocktails with over 70 bourbons to choose from; hence, the Cask name.

Since opening the doors to Cask, Sayler has added to her own tribe – she recently had twins girls eight months ago – that’s right, three kiddos under 2. She has managed to quadruple sales, start a family, and give back to the community since rebranding. Cask often hosts events benefiting local organizations- just another reason Sayler is a treasure to the Louisville community.

Shannon Cales

Founder and CEO of NuLease Medical Solutions

Nulease.com • ShannonC@NuLease.com

In 2016, Shannon Cales started NuLease Medical Solutions, a premier customized program for those suffering from Substance Use Disorder. Sadly, Shannon lost her sister to this disease in 2003. “It was critical to me to build a unique program which reduces barriers for individuals and their families seeking help,” she says. “The staff here provide a loving family environment which holds both the patients and providers accountable.”

NuLease has recently been given the Better Business Bureau’s highest honor, the 2022 Torch Awards for Ethics, and they have seen over 5,000 patients to date. A strong percentage of those patients still obtain counseling and other services at NuLease. This amount of longitudinal data has given them the opportunity to partner with the University of Louisville to research and publish critical findings which have made their program successful. They are currently working on numerous groundbreaking studies that will drive policy based on evidencebased treatment protocols.

“There are a lot of bad players in the business of ‘drug treatment’ programs,” Shannon says. “Many will only take cash for visits and do not provide wrap-around services that treat the underlying conditions associated with the chronic abuse.” Substance Use Disorder must be viewed the same as any other long-term disease such as diabetes or cardiac anomalies. Medication and strict adherence to a program are lifelong journeys, and relapse is part of recovery.” At Nulease, all Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial insurances are accepted. They provide clothing, counseling, psychiatric care, group therapy, family therapy, and primary care. NuLease also assists patients in becoming employed, regaining custody of their children, and sustaining long-term success. Most recently, they launched a mobile medical unit that serves the homeless population where they are. Currently, NuLease has two locations with plans to expand that footprint in the near future.
