“Some might say I’m in the restaurant business or steakhouse business, but in reality, I’m in the people business,” Huehls explained. “As Mr. Ruby would say himself, ‘If people are hungry, they go to the refrigerator.’ Giving our guests an experience — the Jeff Ruby experience, that they take with them forever — that’s truly my business.”

Huehls entered the hospitality industry upon graduating from college and moving to New York City, finding a passion for the daily challenges and the honest connections she’s made with people over food and drink. And while delivering high-end culinary experiences may be glamorous, she has learned that success ultimately comes from consistent focus and uncompromising labor.

“Without question the biggest mentor in my life is my father,” she concluded. “He taught me that hard work and smart choices will always give you options in life. He also taught me that life is way too short not to have a great time living it!”
