Kristin Newby opened Cheveux Lex two years ago with the funds she had been saving since she was 18 and today, it’s clear it was money well spent. The aesthetically-modernized salon serving downton Lexington specializes in blondes, balayage, extensions and most hair color services, and clients value its boutique atmosphere and staff of the best-of-the-best stylists.

“We have a certain culture that is to help our guests achieve their dream hair and feel the best about themselves, not just through the hair that we do, but by being personable and making deeper connections,” Newby explained.

“I have learned so much about owning your own business in the past two years, but the most important lesson I have learned is that you need to grow a culture, not just a company.”

When she considers what the future looks like from Cheveux Lex, Newby is confident in how her business will continue to grow, as well as the future success of the community it serves.

“As a fast-growing industry where trends are literally changing by the day, we will continue advancing and adapting as a modern salon and always be one step ahead with everything a hair salon could offer,” she concluded.
