Commerce Lexington honored with UNITY AWARD

On January 17, Commerce Lexington was honored to be recognized with the 2022 UNITY AWARD by the Alpha Beta Lambda Chapter Education Foundation, which annually organizes Lexington's Unity Breakfast. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that have exemplified the true legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., made a difference in our community, and have worked towards unifying our community. Commerce Lexington President & CEO Bob Quick, 2022 Commerce Lexington Board Chair, John Gohmann (PNC Bank), and 2021 Commerce Lexington Board Chair Raymond Daniels accepted the award during a taping for the virtual Unity program produced by LEX 18. It aired on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. “This award not only recognizes the work of our organization, but the many volunteers who work each day to improve our community and region,” said Commerce Lexington in a statement. Commerce Lexington Inc.'s mission is to "represent our members, creating the environment and opportunity for economic prosperity and quality living in Central Kentucky." Among their many local initiatives, their Minority Business Development services help: " to promote and sustain the economic growth, development and self-sufficiency of minority business owners and entrepreneurs; recruit minority-owned businesses into the seven-county Lexington MSA and Commerce Lexington, Inc.; and provide business referral services to the appropriate minority business assistance agencies." The Unity program supports the Alpha Beta Lambda Chapter Education Foundation’s many community outreach programs. To learn more about the chapter, visit alphabetalambda.com
