Hi,

I’m Ralf Fletcher, CEO at Topco Media, and I am so excited to introduce you all to the muchanticipated Standard Bank Top Women 2022 Virtual Conference!

For 13 years, Standard Bank has been supporting this two-day event, pushing us to take the Top Women programme across the nation to build a trusted network of Top Gender Empowered companies and women entrepreneurs.

We believe that by empowering women, we can play our part in accelerating growth in Africa. Thus far, we have brought together tens of thousands of strong women from multiple sectors across the nation, certifying more than 2 000 organisations annually as Top Women entities, and celebrating exemplary candidates each year at our coveted awards ceremony.

This year, we’re addressing gender disparities and women empowerment, with our key theme being:

“RISE ABOVE THE NOISE”

These conversations will include insights from women who’ve risen above the noise, covering career strategies for women, tips from Forbes

Letter from the CEO: RALF FLETCHER

30 under 30 entrepreneurs, reflections on responses to gender-based violence and more - all in the global context.

Through this theme, the summit aims to fuel the global gender empowerment movement by connecting women entrepreneurs, global icons, thought leaders and experts to offer inspiration and actionable insights.

The conference will also feature highprofile speakers from multiple different industries, who will offer practical solutions and access to networks of support for women across the globe. In our line up this year, we have some phenomenal key speakers, such as:

AFRICA RENEWS ITSELF ALL THE TIME. WE BELIEVE ITS ENERGY SHOULD TOO.

Corporate and Investment Banking

In conjunction with the South African government and British International Investment, we arranged a deal worth over R16 billion for our clients Scatec and H1 Holdings. By doing so, we’ve helped ensure the future of three new generation projects that will produce 150MW of baseload renewable energy.

Our commitment to sustainable energy in Africa goes far beyond the numbers – it’s ultimately a commitment to the successful future of the continent and its people.

Find out more about the role that Standard Bank Corporate and Investment Banking is playing in the transition to clean energy at standardbank.com/cib

This one’s for the changemakers.

see you.

This is what we know. Women don’t take away. They add. To the movement, to the moment, to the conversation, to the change that we all want to see. Women understand the value of standing up for what they believe in, and the importance of working toward their dreams and goals with commitment, conviction and passion.

This is why part of our core mandate includes funding and empowering women, as reflected in the nearly R8.5 billion that we have invested in women-owned businesses in the last 4 years, as well as our own 55% female weighted employment statistics. Indeed, women make all the difference in life and in business.
