IMMENSELY DEEP AND SATISFYING READ…HIT HOME ON SO MANY LEVELS!!
Overcoming was an immensely deep and satisfying read. It showcases several stories - including the author’s - to inspire others to push through their own struggles with the information on what helped each individual highlighted in the book. It's relatable to everyone, even if your struggles aren't the same and I was impressed with the “retrospection" at the end of each story. Each story highlights an outstanding tenacity and resilience that is inspiring and motivating, as well as how the person got through their struggle - so that the reader can build their own toolbox. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author’s story was my favorite!

ELOQUENTLY WRITTEN… MESMERIZING STORY
‘Lead ins’ – that magical moment that opens a fresh book with a few sentences that magnetizes the readers attention – are a learn through experience skill that is certainly one of Hank Phillippi Ryan’s polished tools Read one of Hank Phillippi Ryan’s novels and an addiction ensues. Not only is the prose eloquently written, but also the author’s ability to maintain suspense throughout this mesmerizing story makes this a completely satisfying journey into legalese and psychological confrontations. She ranks in the top tier of contemporary mystery authors. Highly Recommended.

STAYS WITH YOU LONG AFTER THE FINAL PAGE
The Lincoln Conspiracy begins with backstory about Abraham Lincoln's rise in the political landscape. Even in the early stages of the book, I was glued. Then Brad and Josh began to write about Lincoln's win in the Democratic presidential primary and the political upheaval between the north and the south, and I was riveted. The Lincoln Conspiracy tells the story about the rift between the slave-owning south and the anti-slave sentiment in the north and how Lincoln's win in the 1860 presidential race threw gas on the flames of this political fire. Many in the south band together to make sure Lincoln never makes it from Illinois to Washington DC to take office. I was amazed to discover who the major players were on both sides of this conspiracy to kill the president-elect. From Lincoln's early years to his rise in politics to his incredible and frightful railroad trip from Illinois to Washington D.C. for his inauguration, The Lincoln Conspiracy will have you spellbound and losing sleep as you breathlessly turn pages towards an absolutely stunning climax.
