EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH GOTHIC HORROR NOVELIST, JENNIFER ANNE GORDON You are known as a gothic horror novelist. What is your definition of gothic? I am always torn between two definitions of Gothic, but I feel like they really go together in my work. The first being, that the past is still alive in the present. I just love that because it can mean so many things. The past being alive can come in the form of memory, of trauma, lost love, an old home that has been passed down trough generations, it can also mean ghosts, vampires, or a family curse. I tend to write more in line with memory, trauma, and ghosts instead of vampires, but there is room for all of it under the umbrella of Gothic. The other definition I love, is that Gothic Horror is pleasurable terror, and I hope my work can be all of those things.
