Mah Tovu (Numbers 22:1–36, 24:2–5) We have skipped a little bit of the book of Numbers. We are now forty years into the time in the Wilderness. The families-of-Israel are moving into position to enter the land of Israel.
The First Bribe Narrator 1: 22:1The families-of-Israel set out and camped in the plains of Moab—beyond the Jordan—at Jericho. 2And Balak, the son of Zippor, saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. 3And Moab was in great fear of the people, because they were many; Moab was overcome with fear of the families-of-Israel. 4And Moab said to the elders of Midian:
