Bergen is the second largest city in Norway and the largest in Western Norway, with a population of 256,580 as of 1 January 2010. Hernar is situated in a group of islands a few miles northwest of Sæløy in Øygarden, and is an old uthamn by the central route to the west. Skjerjehamn is an old traditional trading place on the west coast, located far out in the Sognefjord, the worlds longest fjord. Here you can stay in an old Swiss Villa and in the Pakkhuset. Glesvær is one of the oldest trading posts on the coast of western Norway. During the 18th and 19th century it was one of the largest and most important fishing villages on Sotra island. Still in operation as part of the historical network of trading posts and accommodation sites along the coast. During the herring fishing season Glesvær was a meeting point and up to 140 vessels could moor here at any one time. [8]

Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri has the ocean and the history as a background, and is located on one of the real pearls of islands, in the municipality of Austevoll, south of Bergen.
