The Toronto International Book Fair is Canada's book exposition for all things print and digita Inspire! The Toronto International Book Fair will appeal to all book lovers and readers. From Liter Science Fiction to Mystery, from Children’s Books to Cookbooks, the Fair makes the Book, in all star of the show.

The Toronto International Book Fair is partly an exhibition, partly a market, and partly a cultural festiv e-books, reading, and all professions in the book trade. It provides exciting opportunities for indu meetings; a special area dedicated to children and young adults; cookbook and art book zones; a book signings, readings, workshops and panel discussions. Through its Digital and New Media Zon a forum in which to display, discuss and showcase the latest in digital technology which continues aspect of the book industry. These and other exciting programming features make this Fair the gal book industry and a magnet for readers and book buyers. It will provide publishers with the mass their front lists to a large qualified audience, and take advantage of the holiday selling season.

Inspire READING Author readings and other speakers from the world of books and digital application.

Inspire CULINARY ARTS A cooking square with celebrity chefs and live demonstrations. A special place for cookbooks, and books on food, wine, and gastronomy.

Inspire ABLE READERS A dedicated space where large-print books, audio books, and other technologies for special needs readers are featured.

Meet THE TEAM

Rita DAVIES

The Fair evolved from the feasibility study, “A Re-Imagined Book Fair” conducted for the Ontario Media Development Corporation by Rita Davies and John Calabro. Rita and John added Steven Levy, former president of Informa Canada and founder of many events, to join them in this new Canadian venture.

Rita Davies is a cultural consultant and planner. For more than a dozen years she headed up the City of Toronto’s culture department where she was responsible for the development of the hugely successful Nuit Blanche. Recognized nationally and internationally as a cultural visionary, her cultural leadership was acknowledged by the Canadian Urban Institute who awarded her their City Soul Award.

Steven LEVY

John CALABRO

Steven was born in Montreal and came to Toronto for his doctoral studies. He taught at the University of Toronto, as well as partnering in a research firm that included studies in culture and the arts. During that time he co-founded the One of a Kind Shows, followed by the Festival of Canadian Fashion, The Interior Design Show, The Delicious Food Show, the Explore Design Show, and the Schools and Skills Fair. Steven is considered one of Canada’s best consumer show producers.

John Calabro is an educator, writer and publisher. He is the author of three books of fiction and president of Quattro Books Inc., an independent Canadian press dedicated to publishing works of literary merit regardless of cultural, national, or linguistic background. John Calabro is the founder and president of the Association for Art and Social Change, a not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting and incubating cultural and artistic projects in Canada.
