PSALM 90

1. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. 3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. 4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. 5 Thou carriest them away as with a lood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. 6 In the morning it lourisheth, and groweth up;

in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. 7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. 8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. 9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. 10. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we ly away. 11. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. 12. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. 13. Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. 14. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. 15. Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast af licted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. 16. Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. 17. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

INTERNMENT AND PRAYER

For as much as it hath pleased Almighty God of host great mercy to take unto Himself the soul of LATE Pa Timothy . A. Ibitoye here departed, we there force commit his body to the ground, earth to earth, ashes dust to dust, in sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our vile body, that it may be like unto His glorious body, according to the mighty working where by He's able to subdue all things to himself. I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write , from henceforth blessed are the dead which die in Lord ; Even so saith the spirit; for they rest from their labours.

Biography Page 15

Biography of Pa Timothy Kolawole Ibitoye Pa Timothy Adeyemi Kolawole Ibitoye was born on 16 June 1939 in Assin Foso, Gold Coast now Ghana. His parents were Pa Paul Ibitoye of Elemosho Compound and mother was Madam Grace Olabimpe Ibitoye of Ade Compound, both of Oyan, Osun state. Early in life he was brought to Oyan to live, school and familiarize himself with the life in Nigeria. As fate would have it, he started his educational life by registering himself at St Paul’s Anglican Primary School at Oyan in 1948 where he completed his primary education in 1953. His admirable brilliance shot him up to Oyan Grammar School in 1956. The school had some skirmish with the Western Regional Government when it was initially founded in 1954. Fortunately for him, when the school reopened for the second time to begin academic work he was one of the founding students of the great institution. At Secondary School, he was very gentle and responsible. His alma mater turned him out in flying colors in 1962. At that early stage of his life, he was determined to be a thorough bred professional. This passion provided the opportunity at Federal School of Agriculture, Akure from 1964 to 1966 which prepared him for the great life ahead of him. It provided that stint of being out going and connecting with all the people he came in contact which certainly was the brain child of the successful life he led. When it came to his career in Agriculture, he was promising, hard working, determined and an enthusiastic worker. He personally sowed the seed of Agriculture in Badagry, cultivated it to a great extension activities in Ajara, Apa, Ibereko and Ojoareas as an Assistant Superintendent from 1966 when he started his wonderful expansion and transformational projects. He ensured that food was plentiful and flowing like Manna from heaven through incentive programs for farmers in Lagos State. His exploit and subsequent success in Agriculture prompted Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture to promote him and extend the midas touch to Ojo between 1973 to 1975 as Agriculture Superintendent and thereafter to Ikorodu as Senior Agriculture Superintendent from 1975 to 1979. He was subsequently seconded to support the Nigeria Army Rehabilitation project in Ipaja, where he worked in Page 16

partnership with notable military leaders. His contribution led to several awards and he built life long relationships. In all junketing in Lagos State as a top government official, Badagry remained his fixed foot of compass. His firm resolute brought success to agriculture in Lagos state and development in Badagry. Today, if the public servants in Lagos State would count themselves as triumphant, they should consider the strong foundation laid by Pa Timothy Adeyemi Kolawole Ibitoye as the pioneer officer in most divisions. He retired from service meritoriously in 1998; about seventeen years ago. As the hand is native to the mouth, so was Pa Timothy Ibitoye to the church activities in Badagry and Oyan which all started in AssinFoso in Ghana where he was baptized as a Christian on 6 March 1940 at Methodist Church in the town at an early age. Since then there had been no going back in Christianity. He joined the Methodist Church Badagry in 1968 two years after his arrival in Badagry. He was the President of Christ Little Band of the Church for twenty nine years. He was also a Church leader and property steward of the church for six years. What a wonderful Christian life! At Oyan, he was a member of St Pauls Anglican Chuch, Oyan. He was always active in Church activities whenever he was available in town. When it is the turn of church music he was enmeshed in it. At any moment he was down and out of mood,he would uphold his Methodist hymn and praise worship. His favourite hymn was Gbekele Onigbagbo Bi Ija Naa Tile Pe(MHB 840) and File Ona Re Le Oluwa Lowo (MHB 312). These hymns were his personal refrain which he would sing from time to time to cheer himself up as the onward soldier marching on to his creator, Jesus Christ. Christ he believed in and Christ sustained him throughout his life. It was Christ that provided him his heart throb, Mrs Maria Foluke Ibitoye, the admirable and loving wife who provided him support for over fifty years as his spouse. Christ blessed the marriage and consummated it with children and grand children. Today the children are happy to carry on the memories of Pa Timothy Adeyemi Kolawole Ibitoye. Pa Timothy Adeyemi Kolawole Ibitoye translated to the great beyond on 19 December 2015. Thanks to his exploits and determination, he gave all his children, wife and family members and friends the celebration of life. His memories shall live on forever.

Tribute from your Daughter My Dearest Father and Confidant, I am still in shock about your passing away to glory. You have always shown me love and made me realize how my birth was a symbol of God's goodness to you and the family, which premised the decision to name me 'Enitan'. I will always be your little girl and can't thank you enough for your selflessness and sacrifice for the family. You believed in a non-material life and will rather share than have plenty wasting away. You were an avid Agriculturist not just by profession but by passion and I recall the farm you created behind our house and the fish ponds, which made food plentiful on the table for every visitor. You aged gracefully because of your love for organic food. You had such a very large heart and defined family beyond nuclear relationship. You supported Uncles, Aunts and neighbors and even strangers, there was no limit to how you will help people in need. I am comforted by the memories of the good times we spent together. I can't but help to remember the plate number of the very first car you bought when I was a child 'ABG222'. Men like you are rare because after God made you, 'He broke the mold' which testifies to your principles about accountability, sel-discipline, patience and above all, the fear of God. You cannot be replicated! In the last few years every visit you made to Britain was a period I look forward to bond with my loving father. Anytime you were around you always made me feel inspired and you assured me of support and you had kind and comforting words in every situation. You were proud and loyal to God's work, hence you pioneered the society of ' Christ Little Band' of Freeman Memorial Methodist Church Cathedral here on earth. I am confident you have transitioned to be part of Christ's Big Band' in heaven and I will miss you so much. May God keep you safe till we meet again. Thank you for everything. Your loving Daughter Enitan

Tribute to a Loving Dad (Son) Daddy, When we spoke on the 18th of December 2015 on my way to work, I didn't know it was our last discussion in this mortal earth. After the news of your journey to be with the lord, I have continuously closed my eyes and hoping that when I open it, you will come back. Without you life will never be the same, my mind has been consumed with thoughts of you. Growing up, you filled my day with encouragement and taught me to be fearless I knew when I was in trouble, I could rest on your shoulder Your constant words of encouragement was sunshine when the sky over my life was gray Who will I turn to when all around me does not make sense? Who will I call when a piece of my puzzle is missing? You taught me to be strong and be kind to all men You taught be to take pride in labor and Believe God will crown my efforts with success You taught me only the test of fire makes fine steel You taught me to focus and take care of my family When troubles came my way, you taught me to be strong and put my trust in God You admonished me to live simply and know that worldly things are vanity I promised to make you proud and excel in life Your words of encouragement echo in my ear each day 'Take your work seriously and be the best in whatever you do'. Thank you for teaching me how to give; I grew to learn how to give to family, friends, church and neighbours. You were selfless, I don't know why God had to call you to higher Glory now. It's hard for me to say goodbye; It hurts more that I did not get to say it in person I love you with all my heart and we will meet again Rest in peace, Adieu! Dele Ibitoye

Tribute from your Son Daddy, You have gone to a perfect place of rest. During my last visit to Lagos, we shared a lot of stories together, you prayed for me but alas, I did not see this coming! Our last discussion is still fresh on my mind; forgive easily, be kind to all men and continue to be generous. You gave me a hint but my mind was pre-occupied to realize then. Now I understand why you decided to pray for each of us on that day. I am grateful for your blessing. You were a noble man who believed the best way a man can immortalize himself is to ensure that good virtues are taught to his children. That is what you did to me, from mentoring me when I took my first step as a toddler to becoming a responsible father, you were always on hand to guide me. You were an ICON of excellence, Zenith of integrity and an Epitome of Kindness. When people complement me on being well dressed, I echo within myself that ' the Apple does not fall far from the tree'. You are truly my hero! Growing up was a memorable time for me and my siblings. You took us to wonderful places like Amusement park, the Zoo and even University campuses even when we were still toddlers; albeit this was your way to inspire and motivate us to greatness. You ensured that I had the best education and driving to visit me in boarding school was always a pleasure for you. You made sure I never ran out of supplies in school. What more can a child ask for? You taught me to be a fine gentleman and you were always proud to say ' This is my son'. You taught me to be confident and prepared me for responsibilities that comes with life and how to ride higher than the tides. I remember some of the quotes you loved when we were growing up 'Achievement of great men were not done by a sudden flight, those days whilst you were sleeping, they were toiling hard through the night'. For me and my siblings, we had private teachers waiting for us after school to ensure that we succeeded and you were proud of my achievements. We celebrated every success from your promotions at work to weddings, grandchildren etc. You supported mum through her professional career as well and you took care of family and friends. You lived an accomplished life and gave back to the community. Be rest assured that I will continue to make you proud. I celebrate you today and always but God loves you much more and you are riding in Glory. You will truly be missed. Adebola Ibitoye (Son)

You understood the joy in lifting other people up in life and helping them fulfil their destinies. Daddy, you were indeed a pacesetter during your life time. An “ AKOBO ELEMOSHO to the core. Tributes to my father. Daddy you are gone today but your memories will always be in my heart. You Christened and named me a child of thanksgiving and I will continue to thank God for his abundance over my life. It is not an ordinary coincidence that you departed this earth from same town where I began. That is why you fondly called me 'Abisile'. We shared a lot in common and you made me feel unique in a special way.You were the best man I ever knew and the best man l will ever know who taught me many lessons and showed me many things. My beloved daddy, you were truly a great man and mentor. Daddy, you were a honourable, Jovial and caring man who was always there for us all when growing up . I know you look down on me seeing the result of the hard work you have done in my life. You know exactly what to say to me when down to lift me up. Your memory will forever linger in my heart. I know you are in heavens rejoicing in the hands of your creator. I will always miss your fatherly presence. Opeyemi Ibitoye Page 23

Dear Dad,

Gone but not forgotten (Son)

You have left a big void in the family but your memory lives in our hearts - mum, my brothers and sisters, uncles, aunties, beneficiaries, friends and well wishers. When you left Badagry in high spirit to attend the wedding of your cousin's daughter in Offa, you promised me that you were going to be right back....,And so, I never thought it was anything serious when I heard that you were a bit poorly and asked to be taken to the hospital. Nonetheless, I quickly made my way to see you in Osogbo on 18th Dec. (the day before you went to be with the Lord); but little did I know that you were so so close to be with your maker and that was going to be my last opportunity to see/converse with you. On the morning of the 19th Dec 2015, you stared at me and I felt somewhat better that you were feeling better. Alas! My father was gone the next minute never to return again........!!!!! So, who do I now turn to as a father when I am scared and in desperate need of counsel? Dad, you never hinted us that you were going forever and just so soon. Goodness gracious!!!! You will not be there to see me get married, let alone play with my children (your grandchildren)? As the last born of the family I had the rare privilege of enjoying a close relationship with you, daddy. You were my confidant, friend and father. And you thought me to show love, generosity and compassion and instilled the fear of God in me. Daddy, you have left a huge void!!!!! You helped me to face life squarely now that you are gone, your memory is forever sown in my heart. Your kindheartedness, dedication to your children and concern about their growth and development will never be forgotten. You were gold and gem to us. With your advice and admonition we shall conquer life. That is the legacy you gave and that is what we will sow into your grandchildren. Remain blessed in the bosom of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Good bye dad till we meet at the feet of Christ never to part no more. Kayode Ibitoye (Son)

An amazing heart, a gentle spirit, a humble man and a loving father - may daddy's soul rest in peace with the Lord who loves him much more than we do. May he grant us all the courage to bear our loss. Lovely, fond memories of a life well spent. Kofoworola Ibitoye

To a great Dad (Daughter in law) You were a man of numerous virtues. Your fatherly nature was expressed to everyone you came accross. You sincerely cared and loved. You were a totally truthful man whose Yes meant Yes and No meant No. You were humble, generous, kind, and forgiving. You were always an advocate of peace and never picked offence in anything. You were grateful to God in all things and also to man for any little gesture. I could write a whole book about your joyful and cheerful personalty. Your bright smile was contageous as it brightened up any room you entered.Your departure has left a vacuum in my heart but I take solace in the fact that you are definitely with God because you lived a perfectly beautiful life. Till we meet again Daddy in the bossom of God. Tolulope Ibitoye.

OTHER TRIBUTES

It is very few people in the world that have been fortunate as we were to be blessed with a father such as Pa Timothy Ibitoye. But it is rather sad that the gathering here today is to mourn and celebrate the departure of such a great Baba. It is difficult to believe that our loving, amiable, very considerate and understanding Baba had been taken away by the cold hand of death. My dearest father in law, forever you will be remembered in my heart. You came to see me at my hospital bed on Monday 14th December 2015, and u prayed for my quick recovery. I never knew you came to bid me farewell, that your time to join the saints above was near. Your life had always been a shinning example to others. You lived a life of transparent, honestly, humility and in spite of some challenges of life you devoted your life to God and humanity. You were a good leader, motivating and directing people aright. You were kind, helpful and highly responsible!! Daddy-I love you dearly but Jesus loves you more R.I.P - Remi Ibikunle, Your son-in-law.

I was hurt in a way or manner that words could never express at all on hearing the news about your demise. As time past, it dawn on me that a big tree, "Iroko" has fallen, a bridge-builder has gone and a great vacuum has been created of which it will be too hard to filled. Was it for your inspirational words, fatherly love or discipline that you inculcated in me while alive? . You discriminate against no one of which many that were privileged to come across you while alive can testify. A day rarely goes by without my having flashbacks, all your great concerns and immense contributions to my dear life and that of my family. Just few days before you passed on, you called on phone to informed me that you are in Osogbo in Osun state of Nigeria, not having a faint idea that it will be the last opportunity to converse with you. However, I took solace in GOD as a christian and I pray that may the Almighty GOD grant you eternal rest. Rest well my Daddy! Father of all fathers! Rest in the bosom of our LORD, JESUS CHRIST!
