With its tropical climate its year-round destination, but the best is October to April, most of the island country experiences a pleasant and dry climate. With ample sunshine, clear blue skies and lush green landscapes, this period is considered to the best climate to visit Sri Lanka.
Currency & ATMs
Sri Lankan rupee is the local currency, and aa currency exchange centre is available at the Colombo Airport. Credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, and American Express) are accepted at hotels, better restaurants and even most supermarkets. When you are out on the street market you will need local currency. ATMs are easily
found in large cities and towns but are far less in rural & remote areas.

Cities in Sri Lanka are well-connected, getting around is easy so the best convenient way is to have a private chauffeur driven vehicle.

Visa is required and can be obtained online by visiting https://www.srilankaevisa.lk/ and to avoid inconvenience.

You should have a reasonable level of fitness as the itinerary involves spending time on your feet, embarking and disembarking from coaches and boats, ascending steps, and comfortably walking for a minimum of 1-2 hours or more while exploring sights and navigating local markets.
Moderate
A good level of fitness is essential as you should be comfortable walking for a minimum of 2-3 hours or more, covering longer distances. The tour may also include physical activities such as cycling on straightforward terrain, climbing additional steps while visiting sights, and engaging in other adventures as part of the tour.
Adventurous
A high level of fitness is needed to participate in these tours as on some days you will be active for most of the day. The terrain may be more challenging and the activities more physically demanding.

Safari parks and sanctuaries, particularly in the southern and central zones, offer the easiest way to see animals in their natural habitat. After breakfast, we proceed to Udawalawa National Park with a packed breakfast. An estimated 500 elephants in herds of up to 1,000 live here and the dry season is the best time to watch them. Enjoy a safari to see families of elephants bathing and playing. Stay overnight in Udawalawe.
Day 4: Udawalawe – Yala B D
Wake up early for a safari at Bundala National Park. Bundala wetlands combine 20km of beach, lagoons and scrub hosting more than 150 bird species. These wetlands are home to winter migratory birds and flocks of flamingos. A vast concentration of Estuarine crocodiles lives in the lagoon areas and the estuary of the Kirindi Oya river. Later return to the hotel for breakfast and travel to Yala. Stay two nights in Yala.
Day 5: Yala B D
First thing in the morning will be your best chance to see a leopard as you enjoy a safari at Yala National Park. The male leopards in Yala are very confident animals and seem to have no fear of the jeep, leading to some excellent photographic opportunities. The park is also home to spotted deer, sambar, boar, wild buffaloes, sloth bear, jackal and mongoose.
Day 6: Yala - Nuwara Eliya B D
Travel to Nuwara Eliya, en-route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best Ceylon Tea in the world is produced. Afternoon free to explore this small, beautiful town and stay overnight at a hotel. Stay two nights in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 7: Horton Plains & Kandy B D
Enjoy an excursion at Horton Plains. The starting point is marked by a gate
and a little pond and further up you’ll find a resting station before you start the trek, 10 km of it. Once you reach the “world’s end” you’ll experience the cloud forest. Wait for the clouds to part to reveal the great vista of the valley spreading for miles below. Further on, you’ll have to make an arduous climb down to see Baker Falls. Later travel to Kandy and if time permits, we visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. Stay overnight in Kandy
Day 8: Wasgamuwa & Knuckle B D
Proceed to Wasgamuwa via Knuckles Valley, a major eco-tourism area containing five major forest formations, a wide variety of endemic flora and fauna and some breath-taking mountain scenery. It is a real paradise for those who love to hike or mountain bike offering mountainous trails across clear rivers, through dense forests, and fast-flowing waterfalls. Stay overnight in Wasgamuwa.
Day 9: Wasgamuwa - Negombo B D
Wasgamuwa National Park is truly a paradise for the nature lover. Enjoy a safari, spotting large flocks of birds, and dear and buffalo. Travel to Negombo and explore this fishing town. Stay overnight at Negombo.
