THO Foundation

We’re the not-for-profit entity of TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS and making a difference by supporting education, job, food, basic health care for not so privileged children and take care of the destitute elderly. You empower us as we have not done any fundraiser functions or asked for any donation on behalf of the THO Foundation. $10 to $30 are donated from every booking as well as by the company directors to ensure our care continues. All the work is managed by our THO volunteers and is supported by the company. We ask people to book with TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS and experience the culture and people behind it. The encouraging factor is the people who choose to travel with us time and time again. Preference is given to locals when hiring and training is provided to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable individuals and communities through sustainable travel experiences.

In our small group journeys, deluxe category accommodations are selected which includes a mix of unique / boutique and luxury accommodation. For our bespoke and chauffeurdriven holidays, you can choose from a selection of top luxury hotels to unique and boutique options. We don’t favour any specific brand and our preferred accommodation selection is based on the feedback of our guests as well as extensive research. Passport and Tourist Visas

SRI LANKA: Visa is required and can be obtained online by visiting www.eta.gov.lk and to avoid inconvenience we recommend applying at least 30 days before arrival. Passport must be valid for at least six months before you commence travel to Sri Lanka. Tourists should have a return ticket, sufficient foreign exchange for maintenance.

Discounts and Savings

We are a family people so always love a discount to use during a holiday. Therefore, we offer discounts if you are travelling on any of our small group tours:

Save 5% when you book early (a minimum 10-12 months in advance)

Save 5 to 10% when travelling together as a group of six or more passengers.

Save 5% if you have already travelled with us within the last 2 years When you combine two or more tours in one holiday.

Luxury: 5-star hotels and heritage properties offering a full range of facilities and exceptional services. Premium: Unique 5-star resorts, hotels and heritage properties offering an extensive range of facilities and outstanding services

Important Note: Where destinations have less choice in accommodation, the best available category of hotels is provided. On Bespoke, Private Escorted Tours It is also possible to take a combination of deluxe, luxury and premium accommodation in one itinerary. Standard hotel accommodation is used unless requested. Rating is based on Govt certification as well as match THO basic standard.

Local Sim & Wi-Fi

Get a local mobile sim card. You can use data to call home via Skype or WhatsApp. Data is also very handy when you are travelling and need to use Google Maps. A thousand rupees is enough for a month in Sri Lanka. To get a sim card you will need a photo ID. It can be done right at the airport. Wi-Fi is available at many hotels and restaurants.

Sale and consumption of Alcohol

It is important to note that on all Full Moon night (known as Poya days) no liquor is served. Places selling liquor (including hotel bars) and meat shops are closed.

TOTAL HOLIDAY OPTIONS Ground Transport

All our transportation in Sri Lanka comes with an experienced Chauffeur Guide for your tour. When passengers are in a group of 4-8, a microvan is used. Where more than 9 passengers are travelling in a group, a mini, medium or large coaches will be used to accommodate the number of passengers and their luggage. As per availability Vehicle’s type, model and brand may vary. Thorough cleaning of your vehicle is done before it arrives in the morning to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained. In national parks and sanctuaries, safari vehicles are used.
