Spirited Awards

Thursday, July 25, 2024

Attend the celebration of the 2024 Spirited Awards Top 4 Finalists and Winners at the Spirited Awards Ceremony. Since its founding in 2007, the Spirited Awards have become one of the industry’s most revered awards, recognizing beverage professionals, products, establishments, journalists, and media across every facet of the spirits and cocktail industry on a global scale.

As we come together to celebrate the 18th Spirited Awards my mood is one of renewed awe and admiration for all regional, national and overall Top 10 and Top 4 nominees.

These are the names of the people and places leading and steering our industry into the future alongside some nods to the past.

As the number of nomination grows each year we are reminded not only of the increasing breadth and depth of excellence in our industry but of the community and support of the many who wish to celebrate that excellence across the world.

If charity begins at home then so should hospitality and that is clear in the acknowledgement of greatness among peers.

In an Olympic year the comparison is clear and while Paris prepares to welcome the world’s greatest athlete’s to stand together and be their best, New Orleans will do the same at the Spirited Awards ceremony, a truly global recognition of the greatest bars, bartenders, spirits and media that keep our industry moving forward, setting new standards, inspiring new ideas, raising the bar.

Often these things come from a single dream, an idea, a spark of the imagination fuelled by unwavering discipline, determination and years of hard work to pursue the dream without falter.

Behind each nominee name are journeys of not only talent but hard work, a dare to be different and the pursuit of a dream and that is what I will be celebrating at the Spirited Awards ceremony this year.

Tales of the Cocktail Foundation’s Spirited Awards® Committee, including Co-Chairs, Regional, Writing & Media, Timeless, Tales Visionary, and Lifetime Judges, is composed of respected bartenders, bar owners, educators, industry professionals, and writers

from across the globe.

Drawing on their years of experience and their knowledge of the current work being done locally, nationally, and internationally, together the Co-Chairs and Judges can evaluate nominees from far and wide to ensure that the Spirited Awards are inclusive and represent the breadth and diversity of the global drinks industry.

This Committee is dedicated to valuing the inclusion of the communities we serve by enlisting a judging panel that reflects their incredible diversity in terms of race, gender, ethnicity, and sexuality.

Don

Fulano Tequila 20 Anniversary

Sherry Cask Añejo

Atotonilco, Mexico

This Don Fulano 20th Anniversary Añejo celebrates the rich history of the Fonseca family, who have been growing and distilling Agave for 5 generations. This limited-release 20th anniversary was expertly crafted by their master distiller and aged in Oloroso and Amontillado sherry casks. Upon taste, it reveals layers of sweet caramel, ripe figs, cooked Agave, orange blossom, prune, and cardamom. Like all of the Don Fulano Tequilas, the 20th Anniversary añejo is made from three ingredients: estate-grown, hand-selected Maduro and Pinto agave, proprietary yeast, and natural volcanic water; unfiltered, untouched, and free of additives.

Worthy Park 109

London, UK

The family-run Worthy Park Estate was established in 1670. The first ever record of rum production was in 1741, pre-dating any other Jamaican distilleries still in operation. It is Jamaica’s only single estate producer, with all the rums batch-distilled, aged, blended and bottled on site. The unique flavour comes from the production method: Worthy Park is 100% distilled in pot stills custom-built by Forsyths in Scotland – the industry leader in pot still manufacture – operating on a batch system with a 5-6 hour cycle.
