N A C U TO S E M I T Division 27 Volume 5 Issue 1 April 2015

g n i Table of Contents o g t Ou Josh Kim Division 27, It has been such an amazing year, with an amazing group of people, all under one amazing organization. Key Club has shown me how large it truly is, and the even larger impact that it is capable of making. I am so proud to have been able to serve this division, and I will always cherish the memories that we’ve made together. I know that I am not the only one who is leaving Key Club to go onto bigger and better things, so here is something for all of you who will be gone next year: even though people may fade away and get washed up, their impacts will last forever. The service that you all have provided while partaking as a member has made an impact, and it is here to stay. As you move on, look back on your years in high school and be proud that you did something worthwhile. You made a difference. For those of you who are not graduating, I hope that this year in Key Club will not be your last. Every year brings new opportunities to get involved and to make your impact. I sincerely hope that you take advantage of the opportunities that you are given not only to better the condition of your community, but also to grow as a person and leader. As a graduating senior, I cannot imagine what my life would be like right now if I had not served in Key Club. It definitely has changed my life, and it can change yours too if you give it a chance. Thank you all so much for allowing me to serve as your leader. At District Convention I cried. I will admit that I broke down into tears at one of the district’s biggest and most exciting events. However, I didn’t shed tears because I was retiring from office, but rather I was sad that I would have to part ways with not only all of you, but also from the organization that has given me so many life-long friends, immense character development, and the confidence in my own abilities as a leader. While I may have been the one that went through this incredible journey, it would not have been possible without your support. I am so grateful for all of you, and I am sad that we will no longer be able to see each other through Key Club. I wish all of you luck in your ventures through life, and I know that wherever you go, you will be making positive differences in your communities. I bid all of you one final farewell, and I hope that our paths may someday cross again. Always with love and in caring service, Josh Kim Immediate Past Lt. Governor of Division 27

Julienne Renne Hey Division 27! I'm Julienne Renne, and I'm officially your LTG for the 2015-2016 term. I know DCON has ended and it's tough, believe me I'm still in post-DCON depression too. But as DCON ends things are just getting started for a whole new year. I can't tell you how excited I am to serve with all you guys and take service to the max. I know I still have a lot of you to meet and become familiar with but I'm sure that'll change in no time. With the help of Josh Kim, our past lieutenant governor, and some training from the board I am ready to jump into this year head on and really make the most out of us Toucans. You'll see me visiting various club meetings and hosting DCMs throughout the year and make sure to stop by and say hi so I can make sure to get everyones name down. Also special thanks to Josh Kim for being such an amazing LTG this past year and for helping me with all my training lately. I'm sure all of us are sad to see him go along with his knowledge and kindness. Yet I know I can't wait to see all the stuff he'll be accomplishing when leaving high school and I don't doubt he'll stay in touch. So if you guys ever have any questions about Division 27, the PNW District or just Key Club in general don't be afraid to ask! Can't wait to meet you all! Julienne Renne WHS

District Project This year, the district project for the Pacific Northwest is returning as the Eliminate Project. Just like we did at DCON with our Miracle Minute, clubs all over the district will be participating in fundraising to support this project and eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. So , the PNW has raised more than $80,000! That’s amazing! And with this project it is so easy to save a life with only $1.80 by providing three shots to eliminate this disease.

April Divisional Council Meeting April 25th, 2015 (5:00pm) Kirkland Waterfront (25 Lakeshore Plaza Dr, Kirkland, WA 98033) Description: This DCM will be a getting-to-know you meeting. I’ll be assigning different schools to different types of food to bring. I’ll also be giving out small gifts to incoming officers and introducing them so make sure all officers are present please.
