A HELLO FROM YOUR
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR: SAMUEL GONZALEZ
Hey Toucans! It’s almost the end of the schoolyear, but just because the school year ends, doesn’t mean the Key Club year will end either! I hope the school year has been full of fulfilling experience not only through Key Club but through your personal studies as well. Division 27 is a division of achievers, so let’s achieve great things this coming school year and use the summer to create more memories. I want to bring to light a new rule within Division 27; each club must have one service project within the summer time. This can increase our impacts on our communities as well as give more opportunities for service. The more ways we can serve, the merrier our communities will be! Have a great summer and I hope to see you in the coming months. In Spirit and Service,
Samuel Gonzalez
Lieutenant Governor of Division 27 Pacific NorthBest District Key Club International P: (206) 773-4527 E: ltg27@pnwkeyclub.org
MEMBER OF THE
MONTH
RANVEER THIND
“He has been a staple member since last year and this month he attended both dcms (the one I made a mistake on and the real one.) He deserves a nomination for his commitment to this club and his dedication shined especially this month Toma Itagaki - Tesla STEM Key Club President
OFFICER OF THE
LAUREN KIM
MONTH
“As secretary, she has done a great job, not needing many reminders for the secretary report. Her involvement on the board is greater than the other members and her help with our teacher appreciation project and hours calculation was not her job but she stepped up to help. I'm sure she will be a strong candidate for officer of the month every month but her work in May was outstanding. Toma Itagaki - Tesla STEM President
THANK
YOU
Your amazing efforts are changing the lives of children and we greatly appreciate all that you do!
WHY WATER?
WHO WE ARE Thirst Project is the world’s largest YOUTH water organization.
The average distance that someone in a developing community walks to fetch water is
We exist to educate students about the water crisis and mobilize them to fundraise for global water projects. We're the first organization committed to bringing clean water to an entire nation (Swaziland) by 2022.
a child dies of water-related disease
SERIOUSLY.
gives one person access to clean, safe water FOR LIFE
SWAZI2022 WE WANT TO GIVE THE ENTIRE COUNTRY OF SWAZILAND ACCESS TO CLEAN, SAFE WATER BY 2022!

WHY? SIZE
POLITICS
HIV/AIDS
CASE STUDY
With 1.4M people, Swaziland is the smallest country in Africa, so our commitment is achievable within a few years.
Shunned by the global development community because of human rights abuses. While bad guys are being bad, real people are dying. We wanna be the good guys.
1 in 5 people are affected by HIV, so lack of access to clean water makes it nearly impossible to treat HIV infected peoples.
Great case study for development orgs to replicate a “complete solution” model.
COST
It’ll take $50million to provide every single person in Swaziland access to clean, safe water for life. It sounds like a lot, but the impact will be priceless.
OUR MODEL We run a national school tour (think Beyonce concert meets Dr. King Jr. speech) to educate young people about the water crisis & help them plan fundraisers for global water projects.
100% of student dollars go to providing safe, clean water to communities in need. The global water crisis is a heartbreaking issue, but doing something about it doesn’t have to be. We believe in making social change fun.
OUR IMPACT SO FAR
OUR FANS We have amazing fans who use their platform to inspire THEIR fans to join our joyful rebellion and end the water crisis. Jennifer Garner (Golden Globe award winning actress)
Over the last 8 years, Thirst Project has
Hosted the Thirst Project Gala.
Provided safe, clean drinking water to over 330,000 people, through over 2200 water projects in 13 countries.
THIRSTPROJECT.ORG | THE THIRST IS REAL FOR 663 MILLION PEOPLE
Presented the global water crisis to over 800 schools. Educated over 400,000 students about the water crisis. Raised over $8.8 million dollars for safe, clean water.
