09:00
This full day tour provides a visit to the exclusive Yusupov`s Palace as well as an overview of the opulent St. Isaac`s Cathedral and the Cathedral of our Lady of Kazan. In addition, do what locals would do: take a shopping bag and explore a colorful food market. Explore the Yusupov’s Palace, a museum which provides an interesting look at the lives of the aristocracy of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The palace features exotic rooms such as the Moorish Room, a wonderful Rococo theatre that is still used for concerts, etc. Yusupov’s palace is perhaps best known as the site of the murder of Grigori Rasputin, a man with mystical powers who influenced the family of the last Russian tsar. The St. Isaac’s Cathedral is the former principal Orthodox cathedral of the country and one of the most visited city landmarks. The exterior of the Cathedral barely hints at its breathtaking interior adorned with gold, semiprecious stones, mosaics and oil paintings. The Cathedral of our Lady of Kazan is located on the main street of the city. It was inspired by the Basilica of St. Peter`s in Rome. After the war of 1812 All prices are in USD
Explore a Local Food Market and feel the every day life of the city. This is where locals sell fruit and vegetables from their dachas (country houses). Taste honey, pickles, cottage cheese. Markets are colorful places to visit even if you do not need to buy, though for fun you can usually bargain a bit over prices.

CATHERINE PALACE & HERMITAGE TC8
09:00
Start this full-day tour with an introductory drive, covering the highlights of the city. Designed by Europe’s most imaginative architects in the 18th and 19th centuries, St. Petersburg’s UNESCO protected center is one of the world’s architectural masterpieces. This tour combines visits to the former splendid summer (Catherine) and winter (Hermitage) Palaces of the Royal Family. Take a pleasant drive from St. Petersburg through the suburbs to the opulent Catherine Palace. This estate, in what was formerly known as Tsarskoe Selo, was the summer residence of the imperial family. Explore its grand state rooms, the superb white marble Grand Staircase and the spectacularly baroque Great Hall, an astonishing room of gilt, carved wood and mirrors and the famous Amber Room that was looted during WWII and has been recently recreated to its former glory. Today you will also visit the Hermitage (the Winter Palace). With the possible exception of the Louvre, there is no museum in the world that
rivals the Hermitage in size and quality. Its collection is so large that it would take years to view it in its entirety. The collection is displayed in 4 buildings built in the 18th-19th centuries, the home of the Russian Tsars. Your guide will focus your attention on the highlights of its collection. The museum is especially strong in Italian Renaissance and French Impressionist paintings, as well as possessing outstanding collections of works by Rembrandt, Picasso, and Matisse. The splendor of the museum is epitomized by the grandeur of numerous reception halls, such as the Throne, Ball, Malachite and Gold Rooms.

Explore its grand state rooms, the superb white marble Grand Staircase and the spectacularly baroque Great Hall, an astonishing room of gilt, carved wood and mirrors and the famous Amber Room looted by the Nazis and seems lost forever. Recently Russian craftsmen piece-by-piece have reconstructed the dazzling panels of semiprecious stone which leaves an observer breathless. The Palace was a gift from Catherine the Great to her son Paul on the occasion of the birth of his son Alexander. The outstanding architect of that time Charles Cameron brilliantly combined the style of Italian villa and traditional Russian estate. The ensemble’s fame rests on the splendor of its interiors and great art collection as well as on the beauty of one of the largest landscape park in Europe. Admire elegant rooms of the Emperor Paul I and charming rather then grand rooms of his wife Maria.

Established in the first third of the 19th century, it is also one of the oldest. Here, history and culture literally surround you, as every building is either a theatre or a museum. Dominating the square is the Russian Museum which is comprised of works of art created by only Russian artists and sculptors. Time will be given in one of the finest souvenir stores in St. Petersburg before you return to the ship.

YUSUPOV PALACE & CANALS TC19
10:00
The tour combines a visit to the Yusupov Palace, a museum which provides an interesting look at the lives of the aristocracy of the 19th and early 20th centuries and a relaxing trip along rivers and canals of the city. The Yusupov Palace, a unique architectural ensemble of the XVIII-XX centuries, is one of the most visually stunning and glamorous palaces in Saint Petersburg, and this says a lot in a city where palaces literally step on each other. This is one of the few aristocratic mansions of St. Petersburg, where you can still see the original façade, suites, an art gallery, mini-theater, as well as luxury living quarters of the former owners. The Yusupov`s palace features exotic rooms such as the Moorish Room, a pool room with a secret compartment under the table and a wonderful Rococo theatre that is still used for concerts. The palace is perhaps best known as the site of the murder of Grigori Rasputin, a man with mystical powers who influenced the family of the last Russian tsar. Saint Petersburg is often called the Northern Venice. This is not too great an overstatement. Venice lies on 118 islands, St. Petersburg on 44.

PETERHOF & ALEXANDRIA PARKS BY TOURIST TRAIN TC21
St. Petersburg Shore Excursions
Half Day tours
Spend this half-day in the suburbs of the city. The tour offers an exploration of the two former beautiful Royal parks: the Peterhof and Alexandria parks and a visit to the Cottage Palace. A highspeed hydrofoil will return you to St. Petersburg.
16
Join your motor coach for the drive to Peterhof, the legendary town of palaces, fountains and gardens built by Peter the Great to rival Versailles. Stroll the Lower Park, featuring numerous fountains overlooking the Gulf of Finland. The Grand Cascade is the park’s chief attraction. Culminating the fountain is the elaborate statue Samson Tearing the Jaws of the Lion, which symbolizes Russia’s victory over Sweden in the Poltava Battle of 1709. This tour includes approximately 1.8 miles of walking at a steady pace, part of which will be on uneven and gravel surfaces. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The tourist train will be waiting to take you across an area of the park which hasn’t yet been explored by your group and continues on to the neighboring park of Alexandria. Along your way you will view the Cottage Palace, the Farmer’s Palace, the Gothic Chapel and other places of interest. Park of Alexandria is also located on the Gulf of Finland. A special treat is your visit to the exclusive Cottage Palace. This small Neo-Gothic

palace was Nicholas I’s favorite family residence. The numerous exhibits and family relics displayed in its rooms will tell you about his lifestyle and tastes, as well as the tastes of his beautiful wife Alexandra and their lovely daughters. The charming, rambling park around the Cottage Palace contains a couple of other interesting buildings, including the ruins of Nicholas’s Farm Palace, where Alexander II enjoyed spending his free time, and the small, neo-gothic Alexander Nevsky Church, which was the later Romanovs’ private chapel. As your exploration concludes, board an exclusive, high-speed hydrofoil which will return you to St. Petersburg.

Your two hours guided tour visits display rooms with masterpieces by Da Vinci, Rafael, Monet, Rembrandt, and Renoir. Designed by Rastrelli, the Baroque Winter Palace boasts patterned parquet floors, ornate staircases, molded and decorated ceilings. The Peter and Paul Cathedral – The city’s tallest structure in the days of Peter the Great and even today. Only the television tower exceeds it in height. The ornate interior boasts gilded iconostasis, 18th century paintings, icons, and the tombs of many Tsars and Tsarinas, including Peter the Great and Catherine the Great. The Church on Spilled Blood – It was built on the spot where the Emperor was mortally wounded. The interior of the Church is decorated with incredibly detailed mosaics designed and created by the most prominent Russian artists of the day. The Church was closed for services in 1930 and finally reopened in 1997 after almost 30 years of restoration in all its breathtaking former glory. • An order of sights visited may vary

Day 2. “The Gems of St. Petersburg” A full day of sightseeing includes general sightseeing tour of the city along with visits to the Hermitage, the world’s famous art treasury, and Peter & Paul Fortress, a place where the city got its start and the Church of our Savior on Spilled Blood, one of the city’s landmarks as well as several photo stops and shopping. The Hermitage – The Tsar’s former Winter Palace and four other buildings that house one of the world’s premier art collections. Peter and Paul Fortress – Originally built to protect the city from Swedish attack, the fortress soon became Russia’s Tower of London, a place for political prisoners, including Peter the Great’s own son.
Day 3. “Suburban Royal Palaces” Board your motor coach for a narrated drive to the suburbs of St. Petersburg: to the south to see the Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin) and to the west to Peterhof, passing Stalin-era buildings, modern residential apartments and dachas (country houses). This comprehensive full day tour gives you a unique opportunity to admire the most splendid palace and park ensembles of the 18th century that belonged to the Russian tsars. Catherine Palace – Designed by Rastrelli, the ornate Baroque Palace is over 1,000 feet long and features an ornate blue facade. Gold onion domes crown the palace’s north end, the site of the chapel. Your tour visits the White Vestibule, Grand Hall, the Amber Room, the Portrait Hall, the Crimson Pilaster Room and more.

Surprisingly, Jewish life has never been as vibrant as nowadays. You will visit one of the Organizations like Eva, Adain Lo or Yesod that run social, educational and welfare programs. Another visit is to the second largest in Europe Choral Synagogue, the heart of the city’s limited religious life located in the former Jewish area known as Kolomna. You will chat there with the Rabbi, cantor or local Jews. The memorial plague on the front door of the Synagogue has the names of the Jewish families who contributed to the survival of Jewish traditions: Ginsburgs, Polyakoff and others. Your guide will show you another remarkable memorial plague that commemorates the birth place of the first ORT in the world in 1880.

Peter the Great did the unthinkable. In 1703 on the marshes of the Gulf of Finland, he built a new city which became Russia’s capital. Then he scandalized his court by making Piotr Shafirov with Jewish ancestry his vice-chancellor. Jews were forbidden to live in Russia (until 1917). You will find out how fortunes of the Jews rose and fell with the whims of the tzars and Soviet leaders, about Pale of settlement and other interesting things.

Admire elegant rooms of the Emperor Paul I and charming rather then grand rooms of his wife Maria. Peterhof Park – Travel to another former summer Imperial residence. Set in magnificent parks, Peterhof is reminiscent of Versailles. It was almost completely destroyed by the Nazis in World War II, but has been restored to its full splendor. Today you will visit the Hermitage. With the possible exception of the Louvre, there is no museum in the world that rivals the Hermitage in size and quality. Its collection is so large that it would take years to view it in its entirety. Your guide will focus your attention on the highlights. The museum is especially strong in Italian Renaissance and French Impressionist paintings. The splendor of the museum is epitomized by the grandeur of numerous reception halls, such as the Throne, Ball, Malachite and Gold Rooms.

ST. PETERSBURG SIGHTSEEING & PETERHOF FOUNTAINS TC37 This itinerary is designed to be educational without too many things in one day, comfortable, safe, and fun for everyone in the family. Discover Russian history with your family members focusing on the interests of you and your children. Start your day with a trip by a complimentary hydrofoil to the Peterhof Park. A hydrofoil is a safe and fast boat which rises above the surface of the water. The trip takes 30 minutes. Set in magnificent parks, Peterhof Park is reminiscent of Versailles. It was almost completely destroyed by the Nazis in World War II, but has been restored to its full splendor. The parks are dotted with countless fountains, charming pavilions and summer houses. The fountains of Peterhof are one of the most famous tourist attractions. The diversity of fountains in the park is surprising. From the most impressive Cascade depicting Samson tearing a jaw of the lion to the ever popular Joke Fountains, including one which sprays anyone who steps on a particular paving stone. After lunch (optional) take a brief tour of the Church on Spilled Blood constructed in 2007 by Alexander III to honor his father, Alexander II, who was assassinated where the church now stands. The façade of the church has the feeling of a fairy tale, the interior is decorated All prices are in USD
