To be a great photographer, just be free: Free from preconceptions and influences, find your own voice and enjoy the creative process. Never, ever expect to get a great picture out of every situation, just enjoy the moment and the ride. It is not the same to know the path as to walk the path and while in it always be true to the three “P’s”: Passion, Patience, and Perseverance. Eventually they will lead you to the fourth one, Perfection. As for me I prefer to stay on the path rather that achieving perfection.

Istanbul It doesn’t matter how you call her: Byzantium, Constantinople or Istanbul, this millenary city is one of the world’s greatest treasures. If you ever have had a beer with me, for sure you have heard me say: “Iceland is my favorite country, but ISTANBUL is my favorite city”. The kindness of its people, the unruly good food, the sights, smells and the trance-inducing sounds of prayer make you want to go back, over and over again. One of my favorite activities is to run away and explore the different neighborhoods. Far away from tourists, it is there where the real Istanbul emerges. Places like Fener, Eyüp and Kuzguncuk where you are able to interact with residents and understand that the thread that makes us humans is the same without the need of a common language or religion Istanbul helps us break with all the “mis” and “pre” conceptions of the Muslim people and their world; where in this side of the planet, men will stand up and offer their seats to women on buses and trams. We have a lot to learn and experience. I will be back, many times if possible because from an artist and a human being Istanbul is “A Mecca of Inspiration”.
