GIRLS GOT GAME BASKETBALL SKILL DEVELOPMENT & HOUSE LEAGUE – EMPOWERMENT THROUGH SPORT Age: 8 to 11 years Location: AFLC

This program is focused on girls who are interested in learning the game of basketball and developing their skills, while building confidence. The emphasis will be on skill development and learning the team concepts of basketball in a fun, interactive environment. We will have 30 to 45 minutes of skill development/team concepts, followed by 45 to 60 minutes of game play with older female athletes as coaches and officials, providing positive role modeling for the younger participants. Note: This is for girls only and no experience is necessary. *No class on: Mar 15

KC BADMINTON CLUB Age: *Junior Basic Level 1 – 7 to 12 years ^Teen Basic Level 2 – 12 to 18 years Location: KC Badminton Club 159 Don Hillock Drive, Aurora, Unit 2

Learn the fundamentals of badminton basic skills including high clear, serving, lifts, footwork, front to back, side to side and some knowledge of how to play single games. Participants must sign a KC Badminton waiver form. Participants can pay a one-time equipment rental fee of $40.00 +HST on-site at KC Badminton Club during their first lesson. Join our Advanced STEM Club and learn about cutting edge technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, Internet of Things, Cryptography and more. Participants will be able to: explore a range of advanced STEM topics through subjects that address learning goals such as understanding the fundamental concepts of computers and computer engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning; use advanced coding languages and concepts to create working programs that meet desired specifications; develop and use troubleshooting strategies to refine and iterate projects and understand the real world applications of various advanced STEM technologies, related careers, and opportunities for personal growth through technology. *No class on: Mar 11 & 18

This program will introduce the specific technical skills that are needed to build the foundation for a well-rounded volleyball player. Coaches will teach the technical elements of each primary skill and then run the athletes through game-like drills to practise what they have learned. The ratio of skills to game play will increase throughout the program as the athletes learn to perform the skills. ~No class on: Mar 14

Community Recognition Awards Youth Volunteer Award

The Youth Volunteer Award is presented to an Aurora citizen up to the age of 19, who through their volunteer efforts, has made a significant contribution to the community and has demonstrated their commitment to being a positive leader today and in the future. CANADA SAFETY COUNCIL – BABYSITTER’S TRAINING Age: 12 to 16 years Location: AFLC

The Canada Safety Council Babysitter’s Training course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to safely care for children. Through the teaching of these skills, participants will gain the necessary confidence to provide care to children.
